27 Trees Cut Down In Wingham – One Arrested

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following an incident that took place in a wooded location near Victoria and Helena Streets in the Township of North Huron.   

On March 31st, 2025, Huron County OPP received a complaint of mischief to a forested area owned by the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA). A total of 27 mature trees had been cut down prior to March 31st. A log home had begun to be built in the same area. Police investigated the complaint and later identified a suspect, who was arrested on April 13th, 2025. The total value of the loss according to the MVCA is $27,000.

Lester BRUBACHER, 34 years of age of no fixed address has been charged with:

–      Mischief Over $5,000.

The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, and later released from custody with an appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on June 2nd, 2025.

GOOSE Arrested For Donuts

(ATIKOKAN, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Atikokan have laid mischief charges after receiving a complaint about a pick-up truck doing donuts in a business parking lot.

On April 16, 2025, at approximately 6:00 pm, the Atikokan OPP received a complaint that a pick-up truck was doing donuts in a parking lot on MacKenzie Avenue in Atikokan.

Investigation determined that the driver’s actions had covered some parked vehicles with mud and dirt. The driver was taken into custody by responding officers.

James William GOOSE, 37-years-old, from Atikokan is charged with one count of mischief obstruct interrupt or interfere with lawful use of property.

The accused was released by police and has a first appearance in the Atikokan Ontario Court of Justice on May 29, 2025.

Lauren COTE – Mischief

(BRUCE MINES, ON)- The East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police receive a report of a suspicious person and make an arrest.

On Friday, April 11, 2025, at approximately 8:45 a.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious person in a driveway on Waltonen Road in the Town of Bruce Mines. While officers were en route, the individual was observed walking around the property and had spray-painting graffiti on the complainant’s garage, boat, and outbuildings.

The individual had left the scene prior to police arrival and was later located in the Town of Thessalon, where they were subsequently arrested.

Lauren COTE, 38 years-of-age from Thessalon was charged with: Mischief over $5000.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on May 20, 2025.

Trevor PEART Was Arrested

(SOUTH PORCUPINE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested one person for mischief.

On March 28, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., the Iroquois Falls OPP responded to a mischief at a residence on Church Street in Iroquois Falls.

As a result of the investigation, Trevor PEART, 50 years old, of Iroquois Falls was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Breach of Recognizance

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 1, 2025, in Timmins.

Ryan HAIG & Brian POULAIN Were Arrested

(BANCROFT, ON) – The Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has charged two people following a report that people were digging up copper wire.

On Friday, March 28, 2025, shortly after 2:30 p.m., officers responded to a location in the Town of Bancroft, where the investigation revealed that copper wire, which had been used for an electrical unit, had been cut. 

Ryan HAIG, age 36, and Brian POULAIN, age 40, were charged with theft under $5000 and Mischief.

POULAIN was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on April 1, 2025. HAIG plead guilty to charges.

Mount Forest Resident Arrested – Details Released

(WELLINGTON NORTH TWP, ON) – Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge Mount Forest resident in relation to property damage to local businesses.

Between March 11 and March 12, 2025, members of the Wellington County OPP received reports of property damage at two businesses on Industrial Drive in Mount Forest.

It was reported that an individual entered upon one of the properties and damaged two parked vehicles. The same individual later attended another nearby business and damaged a security camera.

As a result of the investigation, Wellington County OPP arrested an individual on March 28, 2025. George Hammill, a 51-year-old of Mount Forest, has been charged under the criminal code with:

  • Mischief – destroys or damages property (two counts)
  • Possession of break In Instruments (2 counts)

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph.

Peter JACKO Was Arrested

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – Police arrested and charged one person with mischief.

On March 28, 2025, at approximately 12:40 p.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of property damage at a local business on King Street, West Nipissing.

An individual had attended the property in the outdoor area and damaged a patio table.

As a result of the investigation, Peter JACKO, 36 years-of-age, from West Nipissing, was charged with, mischief

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 1, 2025, in North Bay.

Drone Delivery To Prison Results In Arrest

(MUNICIPALITY OF TRENT HILLS, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual in relation to the use of a Remotely Piloted Aerial System (Drone).

On March 27, 2025, shortly after 3:00 a.m., officers responded to a report of a drone in the area of Warkworth Institution, and it is believed that the device was used to deliver a package at the facility.

Officers patrolled the area and observed a passenger vehicle at Murray Marsh. As a result of the investigation, police seized a drone, batteries, cannabis paraphernalia, a digital transmitter and a cell phone. One person was taken into custody in relation to the incident.

OPP Forensic Identification Services (IDENT) have been engaged to assist with the investigation.

Brian LY (age 19) from Montreal, Quebec, has been charged with:

–      Mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property.

–      Have care or control of vehicle or boat with Cannabis readily available.

The accused is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.

Police Cruiser Damaged In Wingham – Mason SITLER-PAYNE Arrested After Struggle

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following an incident that took place at a location on Josephine Street in the Town of Wingham, Township of North Huron on Wednesday March 19th, 2025.   

Just after 10:20 p.m., police investigated damage that had been done to an OPP patrol vehicle which had been parked and unattended. Police located the suspect, who fled on foot and was arrested shortly after a brief struggle with police. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had also moved storm drain covers, creating a hazard for motorists and pedestrians.

Mason SITLER-PAYNE, 28 years of age of North Huron has been charged with:

–      Mischief Under $5,000,

–      Mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property,

–      Resist Peace Officer.

The accused was additionally charged with an offence under the Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA).

The accused was processed and later released from custody with an appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on April 28, 2025.

Beggar Kicks Car After Denied Handount

(OTTAWA, ON) – Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges against an individual from Ottawa after they kicked a car, causing damage to it.

On March 23, 2025 Ottawa OPP were called to the Vanier Parkway off-ramp of Highway 417 because an aggressive panhandler had kicked a car and caused damage to it. The driver of the vehicle had refused to provide any money to the individual, which caused them to become more aggressive. A second call to 911 was made by another driver who was also concerned over the individual’s behaviour.

As a result, Sandro AUDIGE, 26 years of age, faces the following charges under the Criminal Code and Safe Streets Act.

  • Mischief Under $5,000
  • Solicit in an Aggressive Manner
  • Solicit Person in Vehicle On Roadway

A reminder that it is illegal to walk along any 400 series highway in Ontario. This includes the on and off-ramps.

Audige is scheduled to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

911 Caller Arrested After Assaulting Police

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following an incident that took place in the Municipality of South Huron on Saturday March 8th, 2025.   

At 10:00 a.m., police were contacted to investigate a series of 911 calls made to police by an individual who was misusing the emergency phone line. Police attended and spoke to the individual who was arrested shortly after for the offence of Public Mischief. During their arrest, the accused resisted arrest and subsequently assaulted three OPP officers.

Rita STEWART, 44 years of age from South Huron has been charged with:

–      Public Mischief,

–      Assault a Peace Officer – (three counts),

–      Resist Peace Officer.

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich where they were later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 7th, 2025.

Shannon SMITH Facing 13 Charges

(RENFREW, ON) – One person has been arrested in connection with multiple cases of vandalism in Renfrew.

The incidents were reported on Saturday, February 15, 2025, by residents and businesses along Raglan Street South. More than a dozen locations had been marked with a paint-like material in the early morning hours. The incident resulted in numerous bank ATMs in the community being out-of-service.

On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, as a result of the investigation, officers arrested an individual.

Shannon SMITH, age 47 of Renfrew, has been charged with 13 counts of mischief-disrupt lawful enjoyment of property.

The accused was release from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on March 12, 2025.

Kari LYLANDER Was Arrested

(PLYMPTON-WYOMING, ON) – A disturbance in Plympton-Wyoming leads to charges.

On February 17, 2025, shortly after 7:00 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a business on London Line in Plympton-Wyoming for a report of a mischief.

Investigation revealed that an individual attended the business and, after an interaction with staff, damaged a window before fleeing the scene. 

As a result, Kari LYLANDER, 50-year-old of Petrolia has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Resist Peace Officer

The accused was held pending a bail hearing and has since been released. They are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Sarnia on April 1, 2025.

Multiple Wingham Properties Damaged – Brody STONE Arrested

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual from Huron County following mischief to two properties in August 2024 in the Township of North Huron, Wingham. 

On August 10, 2024, Huron County OPP officers were contacted by two complainants who reported that windows had been damaged on their properties by an individual. The suspect was identified but was not located at that time. A warrant was issued for the individual’s arrest.

On February 01, 2025, officers located the suspect and arrested them in the Wingham area. They have been charged as follows:

Brody STONE, 29 years of age from No Fixed Address has been charged with:

–      Mischief Under $5,000 – (two counts).

The accused was processed and held in custody for a bail hearing where they were later released from custody with a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on February 24th, 2025.

20 Year Old Urinates On Floor After Arrest

(BLIND RIVER, ON)– Officers locate individual falling in the snow.

On February 5, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report regarding a suspicious individual, possibly intoxicated, who was observed standing in a driveway in the 100 block of Causley Street, in the Town of Blind River.

Upon arrival, police located the person walking on the Causley Street sidewalk without shoes and exhibiting clear signs of intoxication. The individual was arrested and transported to the Blind River detachment, where they were lodged until sober.

While in custody, the accused became increasingly agitated and verbally abusive towards officers. The situation escalated when the individual began splashing toilet water in the cell area and at one point, the accused urinated through the bars of the cell onto the floor.

Gerry DICKINSON, 20 years old from Blind River was charged with:

  • Mischief under $5000
  • Being intoxicated in a public place

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on March 6, 2025.
