1 KG Meth Taken Off Streets

(ORILLIA, ON) – Members of the Orillia Detachments Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid drug trafficking related charges and seized a quantity of illicit drugs after a traffic stop on Mosley St. Wasaga Beach.

In October of 2024, Orillia CSCU began investigating two individuals who were allegedly trafficking drugs in the Simcoe County area. Utilizing investigative techniques police were able to positively identify two individuals. On November 21st, 2024, satisfied with the information gathered, the Orillia CSCU with assistance from Orillia OMAP, Muskoka CSCU and Huronia West conducted a traffic stop. Two individuals were arrested and safely brought into police custody.

As a result of the investigation, the following was seized:

•            1039 g of fentanyl

•            971.3 g of cocaine

•            998.5g of methamphetamine

•            18g of shatter

•            $4239.00 Canadian currency

•            178 cartons of contraband cigarettes

•            2 digital scales

•            1 cell phone

•            2 Percocet’s

•            Packaging materials

Damien MORRIS, 38-year-old of Wasaga Beach, has been held for a bail hearing and charged with:

•            CDSA 5(2) – Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl

•            CDSA 5(2) – Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

•            CDSA 5(2) – Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine

•            CDSA 4(1) – Possession of a Schedule I substance – Opioid

•            CC 354(1)(a) – Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

•            CC 354(1)(a) – Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

•            CC 121.1(1) – Trafficking in contraband tobacco

Meth Bust – Names Released

(ESPANOLA, ON) – Two individuals have been charged following a traffic stop on Highway 17 in Baldwin Township that led to the seizure of suspected methamphetamine tablets and an imitation firearm.

On October 28, 2024, at approximately 4:00 a.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a person known to them as being a suspended driver get into the driver’s seat of a vehicle. The driver then proceeded westbound on Highway 17 near McKerrow. A traffic stop was initiated, and police observed two individuals inside the vehicle. Further investigation led to officers locating over 900 tablets of suspected methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $4,500, and an imitation firearm inside the vehicle.

As a result, the driver, Brandon FOURNIER, 25-years-old from Sudbury, was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
  • Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Driving while under suspension – two counts

The passenger, Johnathon TRUDEAU, 42-years-old from Spanish, was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
  • Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Failure to comply with probation order – two counts
  • Failure to comply with release order

Both accused individuals appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Sudbury on October 28, 2024 and were remanded into custody.

Kevin MIKKELSEN – Impaired Driving, Meth, Etc.

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – An Elliot Lake resident was charged with impaired after an early morning complaint on Highland Place. 

On October 24, 2024, at approximately 5:30 a.m. the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a complaint of man slumped over the steering wheel of a blue minivan and the motor running. Police attended and tried to speak to the man, but he was dancing to music inside the minivan and ignoring police. He then proceeded to urinate all over the steering wheel and driver’s seat area. The man continued to be uncooperative, but eventually entry was gained and the man safely arrested.  In his possession was suspected Fentanyl, crack cocaine, and crack pipes. There was also an open bottle of rum and cans of beer, both empty and full inside the van. The minivan was subsequently towed and impounded.

Kevin MIKKELSEN, 49-years-old, from Elliot Lake was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
  • Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis in open original packaging
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – opioid (other than heroin)

The accused was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on October 24, 2024.

Kyle VANDERVOORT – Meth, Etc.

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On October 15, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call about a vehicle stopped in the live lane of Bruce Road 10, Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

As a result of the interaction, police arrested the driver for impaired driving.

Kyle VANDERVOORT, 27-years-old, from the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie was charged with:

  • Impaired Operation – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), CC 320.14(1)(a)
  • Dangerous Operation, CC 320.13(1)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance, Methamphetamine, CDSA 4(1)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice on November 20, 2024.

Meth Bust – Names Released

(LAMBTON COUNTY, ON) – Search warrants were executed at two locations and resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs, cash, stolen vehicles and guns total value exceeding $64,000.

An investigation was initiated by members of the Lambton County OPP CSCU which led investigators to two addresses, on Wilkesport Line in St Clair Township and on Wills Street in Wallaceburg.

On Saturday, October 12, 2024, Members from the Lambton County, Essex County and Elgin-Middlesex OPP Community Street Crime Units (CSCU) with the assistance of the West Region OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine Unit and Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) Intelligent Unit executed search warrants which resulted in the seizure of illicit drugs, cash, firearms and other offence-related items. Two individuals have been arrested and charged.

The combined estimated value of the items seized is $64,815.00.

Jonathan CLARK, 35 years of age from St Clair Township has been charged with:

·        Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order (7 Counts)

·        Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

·        Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada

·        Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition (2 Counts)

·        Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (3 Counts)

·        Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm (2 Counts)

·        Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

Tashia HOULE, 39 years old age from Wallaceburg has been charged with:

·        Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition

·        Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

·        Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

The accused were held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia.

The investigation is ongoing.

Robert PAKUL – Meth

(PICTON, ON) – A traffic stop in Picton has led to drug related charges.

On October 2, 2024, at approximately 11:00 p.m., members of the Prince Edward County OPP Detachment stopped a motorist on Hill Street in Prince Edward County. Through investigation, officers learned that the driver was suspended from driving and further investigation led to a search of the vehicle.

Robert PAKUL, age 52, from Odessa was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule one substance – methamphetamine
  • Possession of a schedule one substance for the purposes of trafficking
  • Drive while under suspension
  • Use plate not authorized for vehicle

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 30, 2024.

Myra SOUTHWIND – Meth

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – A driver was arrested and charged after numerous traffic complaints were reported in Elliot Lake.

On September 28, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received numerous complaints on Paris Drive about a female driving erratically in a small grey Sport-Utility Vehicle (SUV). The complainants also reported that the girl driving looked to be high on drugs and almost hit them. Police later located the SUV at a known residence on Tokyo Crescent and the female driver was subsequently arrested. Also, in her possession was approximately 3 grams of suspected methamphetamine. The driver was later assessed by an OPP Drug Recognition Evaluator (DRE) and charged.

Myra SOUTHWIND, 47-years-old, from Serpent River First Nation was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – Drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance -Methamphetamine

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on December 12, 2024.

The OPP would like to remind the motoring public to drive sober; this includes drug consumption as well. Impairment by drugs is a crime under the Criminal Code and drivers are subject to the same penalties as those who are charged with driving while impaired by alcohol.  A charge of impairment by drugs involves all drugs, be it prescription, over-the-counter and those that are illegal.

Meth Bust – Melinda EMBERLEY

(LAKESHORE, ON) – On September 18, 2024, members of the Essex County and Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Units (CSCU), executed a search warrant at a residence on Heritage Garden Crecent, Municipality of Lakeshore.

CSCU members recovered a quantity of illicit drugs, drug paraphernalia and Canadian currency.

As a result, Melinda EMBERLEY, a 62-year-old of Lakeshore, has been charged under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine S.5(2) CDSA

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on October 21, 2024.

The investigation is continuing.

Meth Bust – Names Released

(ATHENS, ON) – Two people face charges after an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigation into drug trafficking in Athens.

The OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit began an investigation early this year, resulting in the execution of a search warrant on September 18, 2024, at a residence on Main Street in Athens, as well as three vehicles. This operation included officers from the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit and Biker Enforcement Unit

Investigators seized over 14-grams of suspected methamphetamine, as well as approximately eight grams of suspected fentanyl, a quantity of suspected cocaine and some unidentified pills. Over $1000 in cash was also seized.

Two people were arrested at the scene.

Sean WHITE, age 44, and Kylie CARSON, age 39, both residents of Athens, have been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance fir the purpose of trafficking.

CARSON has also been charged with possession of a Schedule I substance. This accused was released from custody and is schedule to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on October 18, 2024.

WHITE remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville today – September 18, 2024.

Meth Bust – Two Arrested

(DRYDEN, ON) – Two local residents are facing drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop by the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Dryden OPP detachment. 

On September 18, 2024, just before 4:00 p.m., a traffic stop was conducted on First Street in the City of Dryden. The investigation resulted in the arrest of two Dryden residents and the seizure of suspected illicit drugs, including methamphetamine, as well as further evidence of drug trafficking.

As a result of the investigation, Monique OLSON, 35-years-old, and Ashley GAUTHIER, 33-years-old, both of Dryden, have been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Criminal Code with the following offences:

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine       

·        Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

·        Fail to comply with probation order

The accused individuals have been held remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on September 20, 2024.

2kg Meth & 2kg Cocaine Seized By Police

(BROCKVILLE, ON) – Two Brockville residents are facing drug trafficking-related charges after a two-month investigation.

In July 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG) and Brockville Police Service began an investigation into drug trafficking in the Brockville area. On September 5, 2024, police executed a search warrant in Brockville and arrested two individuals.

As a result of the search warrant, the following items were seized:

  • Approximately two kilograms of suspected cocaine
  • Approximately two kilograms of suspected methamphetamine
  • Approximately 900g of suspected psilocybin
  • Approximately 160g of suspected fentanyl 
  • Approximately $19,000 cash
  • A prohibited weapon (spring loaded knife)

The drugs seized have an approximate street-value of over $575,000.

Michael DIBBLE, age 42 of Brockville has been charged with the following offences contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and the Criminal Code (CC):

  • Possess Schedule I Substance (Cocaine) for the Purposes of Trafficking, 5(2) CDSA
  • Possess Schedule I Substance (MDMA) for the Purpose of Trafficking, 5(2) CDSA
  • Possess Schedule I Substance (Fentanyl) for the Purpose of Trafficking, 5(2) CDSA
  • Possess Schedule I Substance (Crystal Methamphetamine) for the Purpose of Trafficking, 5(2) CDSA
  • Possess Schedule III Substance (Psilocybin) for the Purpose of Trafficking, 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000, 355 (a) CC
  • Possession of a Weapon Contrary to a Prohibition order, 117.01(1) CC, four counts

Meth Bust – Kiiwedin Laronde Arrested

(HARLEY TOWNSHIP, ON) – A traffic stop in Harley Township led to an impaired driving charge.

On September 9, 2024, at approximately 12:35 a.m., the Temiskaming Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped to check on a northbound motorist who had stopped on the southbound shoulder of Highway 11 in Harley Township. Upon speaking with the driver, officers determined that they had been consuming an alcoholic beverage. Police arrested the driver and seized drugs suspected to be methamphetamine. The driver was transported to the Temiskaming OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Kiiwedin Laronde, 22 years-of-age of Earlton, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Haileybury Ontario Court of Justice on September 24, 2024. They were issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and their motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Meth Bust

(RENFREW, ON) – Two people face drug trafficking charges after the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit seized illegal drugs in Renfrew.

Street Crime Unit members, assisted by Renfrew OPP officers, stopped a vehicle on O’Brien Road on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, shortly before noon. One person in the vehicle was arrested on outstanding warrants and a second person was also taken into custody.

A search of the car then resulted in the seizure of suspected crystal methamphetamine, methamphetamine, cocaine, ecstasy, psilocybin, fentanyl patches, cannabis resin and dried cannabis. Officers also seized three imitation firearms, pepper spray, a collapsible baton, cash and items typically associated with drug trafficking.

Shannon AMIKONS, age 44 of North Algona Wilberforce, and James DENNIS, age 43 of Cornwall have each been charged under the Criminal Code, the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Cannabis Act with: 

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – five counts
  • Possession of a Schedule 3 substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling
  • Possession of over 30-grams of dried cannabis in a public place
  • Possession of illicit cannabis

DENNIS is also charged with:

  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Having care or control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • Operating a vehicle without insurance
  • Using a plate not authorized for a vehicle
  • Altering/destroying/removing a vehicle identification number
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime-under $5000

Both of the accused were held in custody, with bail hearings scheduled before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

Meth Bust – Taylor GREEN Arrested

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A traffic stop conducted on August 21, 2024, in South Huron resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs, cash, and offence-related property.

On Wednesday, August 21, 2024, just after 9:30 p.m., Huron OPP officers were patrolling on London Road in the Municipality of South Huron when they observed a vehicle fail to stop for a posted stop sign on Crediton Road. A traffic stop was conducted, and a subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, cocaine, oxycodone, and crack cocaine. Other seized items included a digital scale, packaging material and a cellular phone. A quantity of cash was also seized.

Taylor GREEN, 23 years of age from London has been charged with:

  • Possession of Methamphetamine,
  • Possession of Cocaine for the purpose of trafficking – (two counts),
  • Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Other Drugs.

The accused was processed, then later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled in the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice on September 30, 2024.

Another Meth Bust

(MARATHON, ON) – Three individuals are facing drug charges following a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant in the Town of Marathon.

On August 21, 2024, at approximately 12:00 p.m., members of the Marathon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit, with assistance from the Emergency Response Team and Marathon OPP Detachment executed a CDSA search warrant at a residence on Coveney Street.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of suspected methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin. Canadian currency, a conductive energy weapon, and other items associated with drug trafficking were also seized.

As a result, Cory EXELL, 41-years-old, and Skylar ANDREWS, 30-years-old, both of Marathon have been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code (CC) and CDSA with:

·        Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

·        Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·        Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

·        Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

Summer DESMOULIN, 27-years-old, of Marathon has been arrested and charged under the CDSA with:

·        Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·        Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

·        Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Heroin

The accused are being held in custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Marathon on August 22, 2024.
