Richard BAGOT – Impaired Operation

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Ignace Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation.  

On November 2, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m. members of the Ignace OPP Detachment responded to an incident on Osaquan Road in the Township of Osaquan.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol/drug. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Dryden OPP Detachment for further testing.

Richard BAGOT, 50-years-old, of Winnipeg, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

·         Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·         

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Ignace on December 4, 2024.

The OPP remains committed to taking alcohol/drug-impaired drivers off our roads through enforcement and public education. If you suspect that someone is driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, it is important to call 9-1-1 to report it.

Remi Clouthier Was Arrested

(RUSSELL, ON) – Members of the Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a motorist for dangerous operation and operation while impaired.

On November 2, 2024, shortly after 01:00 a.m., officers were responding to a call for service in Limoges. While northbound on Limoges Road, one of the officers observed a southbound vehicle approaching. As the vehicle continued to approach the police vehicle, it suddenly crossed into the northbound lane, forcing the police officer to take evasive action and take to the shoulder to avoid a head on collision.

Police stopped the vehicle and during the investigation observed the driver to be displaying the signs of alcohol consumption.

As a result of the investigation, Remi Clouthier, of Russell Township, Ontario, was charged under the Criminal Code (CC) with:

  • Dangerous Operation CC
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol CC

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on December 11, 2024.

Emily MILLER – Impaired Operation

(ATIKAMEKSHENG FIRST NATION, ON) – One person was arrested and charged with impaired driving, after a report of an unwanted person.

On October 27, 2024, at approximately 3:34 p.m., the Anishinabek Police Service and Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an unwanted person at a residence on Reserve Road, Atikameksheng First Nation.

The unwanted person left the residence in a vehicle and was later located and stop by police. The driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to an OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Emily MILLER, 30 years-of-age, from Atikameksheng First Nation, was charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

The accused was release and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on November 27, 2024, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Joy HENNESSEY Was Arrested

(TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) – A traffic complaint by an off-duty police officer led to the arrest of a drug-impaired driver.

On September 9, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Temiskaming Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Sunnyside Road in the City of Temiskaming Shores. Through investigation, police determined that the driver had consumed an intoxicating substance. Police arrested the driver and seized drugs suspected to be Fentanyl. The driver was transported to the Temiskaming OPP Detachment for further testing by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).

As a result of the investigation, Joy HENNESSEY, 42 years-of-age of Kirkland Lake, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Haileybury Ontario Court of Justice on September 24, 2024. They were issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and their motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Katherine RAYMOND – Impaired Driving

(PICTON, ON) – A traffic stop in Picton has led to impaired driving charges.

On September 7, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a motorist on Picton Main Street in Prince Edward County. As a result of the investigation the driver, Katherine RAYMOND, age 36 from Quebec, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The driver was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 9, 2024. They also had their drivers licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for a period of seven days.
