Shelby LOACH – Impaired Driving

(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON) – The Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrest one person for impaired driving.

On Sunday June 22,2025, at approximately 10:10 p.m. the Kirkland Lake OPP conducted a sobriety check on a vehicle pulled over at the intersection of Highway 66 and Highway 112. Upon speaking with the driver, officers determined the individual had consumed an alcoholic beverage. The driver was arrested and transported to the Kirkland Lake OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Shelby LOACH, a 27-year-old from Englehart, has been charged with, operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration 80 plus.

The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on September 5, 2025.

2 More Impaired Drivers – NOONE & SEYMORE

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – Officers of the Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) are always looking for criminal driving behaviour. In addition to the two impaired drivers during the long weekend, two more impaired drivers were taken of the roadway thanks to concerned citizens reporting the driving behaviour.

On July 30, 2025 at 11:07 p.m. police were dispatched to a report of erratic driving of a vehicle westbound disturbance on Highway 60 in the Town of Huntsville. Police located the vehicle and observed the same erratic driving. The driver was arrested for impaired driving:

As a result of the investigation, police have charged Shamus NOONE, 40 years old of South River Ontario, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      

The accused was released with an August 2025 court date before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge.

The accused was also issued a 90 Administrative Driver’s License Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

On July 30, 2025 at 12:48p.m., Huntsville O.P.P. officers were dispatched to a local day camp program on Silverwood Dr in the Town of Huntsville. The report was of a female picking up a child but staff believed the female to be under the influence of alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, police have charged Amanda SEYMORE, 45 years old of Huntsville Ontario, with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released with a September 2025ccourt date before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge.

The accused was also issued a 90 Administrative Driver’s License Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Conor BROWN – Impaired Driving

(SAUGEEN SHORES, ON) – On August 4, 2025, at approximately 10:14 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a suspected impaired driver at MacGregor Point Provincial Park.

Police attended and located the vehicle. While speaking with the occupant, the investigating officer detected signs of impairment. They were subsequently placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Conor BROWN, 35-years-old, of the City of Toronto, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – B.A.C. 80 plus, CC 320.14(1)(b)

The accused is set to appear on October 1, 2025, at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charge.

Jacob GAUTHIER – Impaired Driving

(NORTH BAY, ON) – Twelve drivers have been charged with impaired driving offences by the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in the month of July 2025.

One of those individuals was arrested following a single-vehicle dirt bike collision in Nipissing that resulted in hospital transport and further testing.

On Saturday, July 19, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., the North Bay OPP and District of Nipissing Paramedic Services responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision involving a dirt bike on Lake Nipissing Road in Nipissing. Officers determined the driver had been consuming alcohol. The individual was transported to hospital by ambulance, where further breath testing was completed.

As a result of the investigation, Jacob GAUTHIER, 23 years-of-age from Nipissing, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Drive motor vehicle – improper licence

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Additionally, the individual received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Drivers are reminded that no amount of alcohol or drugs in your system is safe when driving. Impaired driving is a crime that continues to pose a serious threat to public safety.

Normand PIETTE – Impaired Driving, Meth, Etc.

(NORTH BAY, ON) – Twelve drivers have been charged with impaired driving offences by the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in the month of July 2025. One of those individuals was arrested after a traffic stop for speeding, which led to the discovery of suspected drugs west of North Bay.

On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the North Bay OPP conducted a traffic stop on Highway 17, west of North Bay, after observing a vehicle speeding. Officers noticed cannabis products in the vehicle and determined the driver had consumed an intoxicating substance. The driver was arrested and transported to the North Bay OPP detachment for further testing. During a search of the vehicle incident to arrest, police seized suspected crystal methamphetamine, methamphetamine, and cannabis.

As a result of the investigation, Normand PIETTE, 48 years-of-age from Sturgeon Falls, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – drugs

·        Operation while impaired – blood drug concentration

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – crystal methamphetamine

·        Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine

·        Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available

·        Improper muffler – motor vehicle

·        Drive with window coated – view obstructed

·        Improper tires

·        Operate unsafe vehicle

·        Speeding – 118 km/h in a posted 80 km/hr zone

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Additionally, the individual received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The OPP continues to expand on its Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) program and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST), enhancing its ability to detect and evaluate drug-impaired drivers.

Rheal FORGET – Impaired Driving

(NORTH BAY, ON) – Twelve drivers have been charged with impaired driving offences by the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in the month of July 2025. One of those individuals was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop on a parked vehicle near Duchesnay Falls and observed signs of drug impairment.

On Monday July 7, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the North Bay OPP conducted a traffic stop on a parked vehicle on Highway 17 near Duchesnay Falls. Officers determined the driver had been consuming an intoxicating substance. The individual was arrested and transported to the North Bay OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Rheal FORGET, 64 years-of-age of North Bay, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – drugs

·        Operation while impaired – blood drug concentration

·        Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Additionally, the individual received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Drug-impaired and alcohol-impaired driving have always been illegal, and this has not changed since the legalization of cannabis. Impaired driving is dangerous regardless of the source of impairment.

Ash MILLER – Impaired Driving

(MANITOUWADGE, ON) – Officers from the Marathon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a driver following complaints from members of the public while at a community event in Manitouwadge.

On Friday, August 1, 2025, at approximately 6:10 p.m., officers were travelling along the parade route of an event on Manitou Road and Ohweken Road when bystanders alerted them of an erratic driver in the vicinity.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle and driver at a residence nearby. As a result of the investigation, one individual was taken into custody.

Ash MILLER, 24 years old, of Manitouwadge, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

–      Dangerous operation

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on August 20, 2025.

Brett DYCK – Impaired Driving

(CENTRAL ELGIN, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin Detachment, has charged an individual at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) program in Central Elgin.

On August 1, 2025, at approximately 3:16 a.m., police took driver into custody without incident.

As a result, Brett DYCK, 31-years-old of London is charged with the following:

  • Operation While Impaired – alcohol and drugs – 320.14(1)(a)
  • Operation While Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 Plus) – 320.14(1)(b)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on September 16, 2025.

Donna CARREAU – Drunk Driving

(KINGSVILLE, ON) – One person has been charged following a collision in Kingsville.

On July 31, 2025, at approximately 7:11 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on County Road 8 in the Town of Kingsville. 

Donna CARREAU, 35-years-old of Tecumseh, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on August 12, 2025, to answer to the charges.

2 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two individuals with alcohol related offences.

On July 26, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Caledon OPP officers responded to a single vehicle collision in the area of Old School Road and Mississauga Road, in the Town of Caledon. Shortly after, officers arrived on scene and formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

Following the investigation, Sukhjit DHESI, 47, of Georgetown, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Careless driving causing bodily harm – two counts

On July 29, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Caledon OPP conducted a traffic stop upon a vehicle that travelled through a RIDE program on Kennedy Road, near Old School Road, in the Town of Caledon. Officers investigated and formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, Navraj SIDHU, 43, of Caledon, was charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

Both accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on August 14, 2025, to answer to their charges. The vehicles were also impounded for a period of seven days, and their driver’s licences were suspended for a period of 90 days.

The OPP remains committed to keeping our communities safe through enforcement and public education. Penalties for failure or refusal to comply with demand are similar to those imposed upon a driver charged with operation while impaired. These penalties include an immediate 90-day licence suspension, seven-day vehicle impoundment, as well as licence reinstatement fees. Additional penalties are imposed upon conviction and increase for each proceeding offence.

Panayio DIAKOLOUKAS Was Arrested

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an Orangeville resident with impaired driving-related offences following a traffic complaint.

On July 26, 2025, just before 9:00 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired driver at a retail location on Broadway in the Town of Orangeville.  Officers located the vehicle and after speaking with the male driver, officers observed signs of impairment and initiated an impaired driving investigation.

Panayio DIAKOLOUKAS, a 47-year-old male, from Orangeville has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.

More Impaired Drivers

(PEMBROKE, ON.) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three drivers with impaired related charges within a span of two days.

On July 26, 2025, just before 12:30 a.m., OPP received a report of a vehicle going off the roadway on Barron Canyon Rd. in the Town of Petawawa. The vehicle fled the scene shortly after. Police located the vehicle. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Eric STOPA, 25 years old, of Pembroke was charged with impaired operation.

Then on July 27, 2025, just after 2:30 a.m., OPP received a traffic complaint of an erratic driver in North Algona-Wiberforce Township. The driver was located and transported to detachment for testing.

Steeve LADOUCEUR, 59 years old, from Oakville was charged with impaired operation.

Later, on July 27, 2025, just after 7:00 p.m., OPP received information regarding a possible intoxicated person operating a personal watercraft on a Madawaska Valley waterway. Police located the individual and the watercraft. 

Przemyslaw POZNANSKI, 45 years old, of OAKVILLE was charged with failure to provide a sample.

Each of the accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicles were towed and impounded for seven days. They were released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke at a later date.

Ahmad DREIHI – Impaired Driving

(LAKESHORE, ON) – One person has been charged after a collision in Lakeshore

On July 27, 2025, at approximately 3:46 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Tecumseh Road in the Municipality of Lakeshore. 

Ahmad DREIHI, 30-years-old of Windsor, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on August 12, 2025, to answer to the charges.

Andrew Boschetti – Impaired Driving

(OTTAWA, ON) – Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid Impaired Driving related charges against an individual from Prescott after they rolled their vehicle on Highway 416.

Shortly before 1:00 a.m. on July 27th, OPP responded to reports of a vehicle that had rolled over on Highway 416 near Hunt Club Road. Officers suspected the driver had been consuming alcohol. A roadside screening device was utilized and the driver was brought back to detachment for a breath test. The driver registered more then twice the legal limit.

As a result, Andrew Boschetti, 37 years of age, faces the following charges:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation

The accused had his licence suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for 7 days. He is set to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa at a later date.

Tyler OVERBEEK Was Arrested

 (NORWICH TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment responded to a single vehicle collision, resulting in one person being charged with multiple charges.

On July 25, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to a collision on Middletown Line in Norwich Township.

As a result of the investigation, Tyler OVERBEEK, a 24-year-old resident of Norwich, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Drive with Handheld Device

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on September 9, 2025.
