Todd ROBERTSON Facing Numerous Charges – Alcohol A Factor

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a person with impaired operation following an initial call regarding threats.

On September 24, 2024, at approximately 9:50 p.m., OPP responded to a business premises on County Road 45 in Alderville, regarding a person who threatened staff and refused to leave the premises.

Officers arrived and located the subject of the complaint in their vehicle. Cannabis and liquor were also observed in the passenger vehicle. Upon speaking with the person, police entered into an impaired operation investigation. As a result, the individual was arrested and transported to a local detachment. The accused failed to comply with a demand to provide a sample of breath into an Approved Instrument.

Todd ROBERTSON, 44-years-old, from Colborne, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Failure of refusal to comply with demand

–      Intimidation – use or threatens use of violence

–      Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm

–      Having care or control of a motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor

–      Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available

–      Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

–      Fail to leave premises when directed.

In addition to a future court date, a further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impound was initiated as per statute.

More Impaired Drivers

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two parties with impaired operation related offences within a five-hour period.

On September 23, 2024, shortly before 6:00 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Highway 10 in the Town of Mono. The call was then upgraded to a single motor vehicle collision in the same area. Officers arrived on scene and were led into an impaired driving investigation.

Marco MAZZOCO MENA, a 44-year-old male, from King City has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Failure to stop after accident

•      Dangerous operation 

•      Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

•      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

On September 23, 2024, shortly before 10:30 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers were conducting traffic enforcement in the area of County Road 109 in the Township of Amaranth. Officers noted a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and conducted a traffic stop. Officers spoke with the driver and were led into an impaired driving investigation.

Ayomiposi IGE, a 25-year-old male, from Brampton has been charged with:

•      Driver fail to surrender licence

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

•      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

•      Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

•      Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform stunt – Excessive speed

•      Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit

The accused individuals are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended 90 days, and their vehicles impounded for 7 days.

More Impaired Drivers Charged

(Rainy River, ON) – On September 22nd, 2024, at approximately 01:28 a.m., officers from the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle along River Avenue, within the Town of Rainy River.

Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages, was placed under arrest & returned to the detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, Alesia ELLIS, 40, of Fort Frances was charged with:

•           Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);

•           Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs;

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Rainy River on October 24th, 2024.

(Rainy River, ON) – Furthermore, on September 22nd, 2024, at approximately 02:49 a.m., officers from the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle along Hwy 11-71, within the Township of La Vallee.

Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages, was placed under arrest & returned to the detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, Zoe NAMAYPOKE, 32, of Fort Frances was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs;
  • Novice driver B.A.C above zero Contrary to Section 44.1(3) of the Highway Traffic Act
  • Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor Contrary to Section 42(1)(a) of the Liquor License Control Act.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances on November 4th, 2024.

Alexandria AESSIE – Impaired Driving

(ORILLIA, ON) – Officers from the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a female party following a single motor vehicle crash in the City of Orillia.

At 8:00 a.m., on September 21, 2024, Orillia OPP responded to a call for a motor vehicle hitting a tree in a parking lot on West St. S and King St. Police were advised the lone vehicle driver was possibly impaired.

Upon arriving on scene police entered into an impaired investigation and observed several signs of impairment.

As a result of this investigation, Alexandria AESSIE, 28-year-old of Oro-Medonte has been charged with:

CC 320.14(1)(a) Operation while impaired- alcohol and drug

CDSA 4(1) Adult Poss of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine

HTA 53(1.1) Adult Driving while under suspension – while suspended under HTA Sec 41/42

The accused was held for a bail hearing and her driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and vehicle was impounded for a period of 7 days.

Aaron REDICK – Impaired Driving

(STONE MILLS TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver with impaired driving related offences.

On September 18, 2024, just after 7:00 p.m., officers were conducting a RIDE check stop on County Road 27 just north of Newburg. Officers stopped the vehicle and conducted a test on the driver with an Approved Screening Device (ASD), and the driver was subsequently arrested and brought back to the Napanee detachment for further testing.

As a result, Aaron REDICK, age 34, of Loyalist Township was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on October 8, 2024.

More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(COCHRANE / TIMMINS, ON) – Four impaired driving arrests were made during a five-day highway safety enforcement initiative in the Cochrane and Timmins area.

From September 9 to September 13, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Northeast Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) unit partnered with the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) along with area detachment members to execute the initiative.

On September 10, 2024, at approximately 9:00 a.m., the OPP TIME unit conducted a Mandatory Alcohol Screening (MAS) test on a driver at the MTO weigh scales on Highway 11 in Cochrane. The driver of the Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) with a tanker trailer transporting dangerous goods was determined to have been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Cochrane OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Jacobus VANZEYL, 67 years of age of Courtice, was charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 22, 2024, in Cochrane.

On September 11, 2024, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the OPP TIME unit conducted a traffic stop on a pickup truck towing a two-axle utility trailer on Highway 101 West in Timmins. The driver was given an MAS test was determined to have been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Timmins Police detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Marcel ST JEAN, 55 years of age of Sudbury, was charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit

·        Improper means of attachment

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 10, 2024, in Timmins.

On September 11, 2024, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the OPP TIME unit conducted a Mandatory Alcohol Screening (MAS) test on a driver at the MTO weigh scales on Highway 11 in Cochrane. The driver of the Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) was determined to have been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Cochrane OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Donald DANIEL, 68 years of age of Regina, SK, was charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 22, 2024, in Cochrane.

On September 13, 2024, at approximately 5:00 a.m., the OPP TIME unit conducted a Mandatory Alcohol Screening (MAS) test on a driver at the MTO weigh scales on Highway 11 in Cochrane. The driver of the Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) was determined to have been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Cochrane OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Jagdeepsingh MAAN, 40 years of age of Airdrie, AB, was charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 22, 2024, in Cochrane.

All four accused persons were also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and their vehicles (tractor units only) were impounded for 7 days.

Marie PIUZE – Impaired Driving

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – One person has been arrested and charged after police investigated a single motor vehicle rollover.

On September 18, 2024, at approximately 11:17 p.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a single motor vehicle rollover on Highway 17, West Nipissing.

During the investigation, the highway was closed in both directions from Warren to Verner for just over two hours

The lone driver received minor injuries and was transported to the local hospital by EMS.

As a result of the investigation, Marie PIUZE, 38 years-of-age, from Montreal QC, was arrested and charged with, operation while impaired – alcohol and dangerous driving

The accused was release and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on October 3, 2024, in North Bay.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Jeffrey Mostow – Impaired Driving

(Fort Frances, ON) – Investigation of a collision leads to impaired charges.

On September 18th, 2024, at approximately 3:00 a.m. members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were advised of a motor vehicle collision on Kings Highway 600 in Lake Of The Woods Township.

Police learned that a single motor vehicle had entered a ditch.

Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol.

As a result, Jeffrey Mostow, 35-years-old, of Kenora, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances on October 21, 2024.

Jesse LAGACE Impaired Driving

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged two people after responding to a suspicious vehicle call in Arnprior.

On September 18, 2024, at approximately 12:25 p.m., Renfrew OPP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Burwash Street, in the Town of Arnprior. It was reported that the vehicle had been idling for a few hours with two people inside.

Police quickly located the vehicle and the two occupants.

As a result of the investigation:

Jesse LAGACE, age 26 from Pembroke was charged with:

·      Failure to comply with undertaking, two counts

·      Failure to comply with release order- other than to attend court, two counts

·      Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs

The accused was held for bail.

Sarah PROKSCH, age 27 from Pembroke was charged with two counts of failure to comply with undertaking.

The accused was released and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on November 6, 2024.

Matthew B. NORDIEN – Impaired Driving

(PUSLINCH, ON) – On September 13, 2024, at approximately 11:45 p.m. officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Detachment were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Highway 6 South, Puslinch.

During the operation, a vehicle was stopped, and the driver was assessed for sobriety. As a result of the investigation, Matthew B. NORDIEN, 32 years-old of Oakville, was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – alcohol and drugs contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Operation While Impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus contrary to the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, at a later date.

More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – On September 16th, 2024 at approximately 11:22 p.m., officers from the Shabaqua & Thunder Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle along Dawson Road, within the City of Thunder Bay.

Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages, was placed under arrest & returned to the detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, Colin ROBERTSON, 47, of Thunder Bay was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs;

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on November 27th, 2024.

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Furthermore, on September 18th, 2024 at approximately 3:17 a.m., officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a reduce impaired driving everywhere (R.I.D.E.) program along the Balsam Street off-ramp, within the City of Thunder Bay.

During the RIDE program, it was determined that one of the drivers had been consuming alcoholic beverages, was placed under arrest & returned to the detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, Corey SPENCE, 38, of Thunder Bay was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs;
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on October 23rd, 2024.

Gabrielle LABRECHE-KALNINS Was Arrested

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – One person was arrested and charged after police responded to a single motor vehicle collision.

On September 16, 2024, at approximately 10:45 p.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a single motor vehicle rollover on Highway 17, West Nipissing.

The lone driver received minor injuries and was transported to the local hospital by EMS.

A search of the vehicle located open alcohol and cannabis.

As a result of the investigation, Gabrielle LABRECHE-KALNINS, 22 years-of-age, from North Bay, was arrested and charged with, operation while impaired – alcohol and having both liquor and cannabis readily available in the vehicle.

The accused was release and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on November 7, 2024, in North Bay.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(PICTON, ON) – Members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) took two impaired motorists off the roadways this weekend.

On September 14, 2024, at approximately 4:00 a.m., members of the Prince Edward County OPP stopped a motorist on County Road 4 in Prince Edward County. As a result of the investigation, Anne-Marie CRAIG, age 50 from Trenton, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 10, 2024.

On September 16, 2024 at approximately 2:00 a.m., members of the Prince Edward County OPP were conducting a RIDE program on Highway 62 in Prince Edward County. Officers observed a vehicle attempt to evade the RIDE and conducted a traffic stop near Hennessey St. Upon further investigation, Caleb BENTON, age 23 from Picton, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 9, 2024. They also had their drivers licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for a period of seven days.

On September 14, 2024, shortly after 10:30 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision (MVC) in the area of Blindline and Broadway in the Town of Orangeville. The driver had left the scene of the MVC prior to police arrival. Officers located the driver a short time later and were led into an impaired driving investigation.

Mark ANASTACIO, a 44-year-old male, from Orangeville has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•     Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•      Drive motor vehicle – Perform stunt

•     Careless driving

On September 15, 2024, shortly after 5:15 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Owen Sound Street in the Town of Shelburne. Officers located the vehicle and were led into an impaired driving investigation.

Angela BRAMER, a 33-year-old female, from Hamilton has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•     Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused individuals are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended 90 days, and their vehicles impounded for 7 days.

Sauro GREGANTI – Impaired Driving

(BLIND RIVER, ON)- The East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid 30 impaired by alcohol charges and 8 impaired by drug charges in 2024.

On September 15, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., police responded to a possible impaired driver that was consuming alcohol and smoking cannabis marihuana while parked at a local fast food restaurant parking lot on Causley Street in the Town of Blind River.

Police attended the parking lot and located the driver of the vehicle. While speaking to the driver, police determined that the driver had been consuming an intoxicating substance. The driver was arrested and transported to the Blind River detachment for further testing.   

As a result, Sauro GREGANTI, 68 years-of-age from Sault Ste Marie was charged with: Operation while impaired-drugs.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on November 7, 2024. The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
