3 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(LANARK COUNTY, ON) – – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged residents from Mississippi Mills Township, Lanark Highlands Township as well as Carleton Place with impaired driving.

Officers investigated three incidents over the long weekend which resulted in three people being charged with impaired driving.

The officers located the vehicles, arrested the drivers, and transported the individuals to the Lanark OPP Detachment for testing.

As a result of the investigations, John SONNENBURG, 28-years-old, of Mississippi Mills Township, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on July 28, 2025

John MITCHELL, 36-years-old, of Lanark Highlands Township, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on July 28, 2025

Samantha GORDON, 37-years-old, of Perth, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

·        Driving while under suspension – two counts.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on August 11, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

One Dead – KARANVIR SINGH Arrested

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating fatal single-vehicle collision on Bramalea Road, in the Town of Caledon.

On April 13, 2025, shortly after 1:30 a.m., Caledon OPP and emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle collision on Bramalea Road, near Boston Mills Road. Three occupants were in the vehicle. One passenger, a 21-year-old from Brampton, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another passenger, a 20-year-old from Brampton, was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious, life-threatening injuries. The driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was later arrested after officers formed grounds that their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, KARANVIR SINGH, 23, of Brampton, was charged with:

• Impaired operation causing death

• Impaired operation causing bodily harm

• Obstruct peace officer

The accused was held for a Bail Hearing.

Bramalea Road between King Street and Boston Mills Road was closed for several hours while the OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists assisted with the investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage is asked to contact Caledon OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
