Homicide In Strathroy

(LONDON, ON) – The Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service (SCPS), with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Sarnia Police Service, is investigating a homicide that occurred in Strathroy on Friday afternoon.

On Friday, June 27, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., SCPS responded to a medical emergency on Ashby Crescent. Upon police arrival, officers located an individual with apparent stab wounds outside of a residence.

Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, Endy MONIZ, 27 years old of Strathroy, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

As a result of the investigation, Joel PERALTA DEL VALLE, 27 years old of Strathroy, is charged with first degree murder, contrary to section 235 (1) of the Criminal Code.

The accused remains in police custody.

There is no threat to public safety.

The investigation remains ongoing by the SCPS under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

2 More Charged In Homicide

(NAOTKAMEGWANNING FIRST NATION, ON) – Two additional individuals have been charged in connection with a homicide investigation near Naotkamegwanning First Nation (Whitefish Bay First Nation).

On Sunday, September 4, 2022, Buifford COWLEY, 45 years old of Whitefish Bay First Nation, was reported missing to the Treaty Three Police Service. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was requested to assist with the search. Four days later, police discovered human remains in the Northwest Angle #33 First Nation. The postmortem examination confirmed that the remains were that of the missing man.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, two more individuals were arrested and charged in connection with the investigation.

On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, Aliyah REDSKY-COWLEY, 24 years old of Whitefish Bay, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:

  • Indignity to a dead body, section 182
  • Obstruct justice, section 139

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on Thursday, May 29, 2025.

On Thursday, May 22, 2025, Kyle McLEOD, 38 years old of Kenora, was arrested and charged with the following CC offences:

  • Second degree murder, section 235(1)
  • Indignity to a dead body, section 182

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on Friday, May 23, 2025.

The Treaty Three Police and the OPP North West Region Crime Unit are continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Homicide Victim Found In River Identified

(CLARENCE-ROCKLAND, ON) – An individual located deceased in the Ottawa River in Clarence-Rockland has been identified and his death deemed a homicide.

On Saturday, May 17, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers from the Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a body discovered in the Ottawa River, near Dallaire Street.

A postmortem examination has confirmed the deceased to be Robert PREVOST, 63 years old of Clarence-Rockland, who was reported missing in early March 2025. He was last seen at his home on Laurier Street in early February 2025. Photos of the victim are attached.

The Russell County OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Assistance was provided by OPP Forensic Identification Services and OPP specialized units, including the Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, Aviation Unit, Underwater Search and Recovery Unit and the Snowmobile, All-Terrain Vehicle and Vessel Enforcement team.

83 Year Old Victim Of Homicide

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – A recent sudden death in the Municipality of Leamington is now being investigated as a homicide.

On March 12, 2025, at approximately 2:36 p.m., members of the Essex County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services responded to a well-being check at a residence on Sherk Street, where one person was found deceased.

The deceased has been identified as Anita GOODINGS, 83 years old of Leamington.

A postmortem was conducted by the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service and determined the death was a result of a homicide.

Police have a limited description of a person of interest in connection with this investigation. They are described as a white male with a muscular build. Anyone with any information is urged to contact police.

Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident. Members of the community can expect to see an increased police presence as the investigation continues.

The investigation is being conducted by the Essex County OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Services and the OPP Emergency Response Team, and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Homicide – Jordan PARKES Arrested

(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON.) – The Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested a third person in connection with an ongoing homicide investigation.

On June 8, 2023, shortly after 10:00 p.m., members of the Kirkland Lake OPP Detachment responded to a shooting at a location on Second Street East.

The victim was identified as Ernest RENAUD, 47 years old of Kirkland Lake.

On June 9, 2023, two individuals were arrested and charged with Criminal Code (CC) offences. One individual was charged with first-degree murder, section 235(1) CC and the second individual was charged with accessory after the fact (murder), section 240 CC.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, a third individual, Jordan PARKES, a 27-year-old of Vaughan, has been arrested and charged with manslaughter, section 236(a) CC.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on February 7, 2025.

The Kirkland Lake OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Homicide On Lincoln St.

Police are investigating an incident that occurred Tuesday night as a homicide.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Primary Response Branch were dispatched to the 1100 block of Lincoln Street shortly before 10 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14.

A male victim was located with life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital. The victim has since been pronounced deceased.

A visible police presence remains in the area.

The Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Unit are involved in the ongoing investigation.

Homicide Investigation – 3 Arrested

The Toronto Police Service is updating the public on a Homicide investigation.

See excerpt from the previous news release published on August 10, 2024:

On Thursday, August 8, 2024, at approximately 10:40 p.m., police responded to a call for a Shooting in the Lake Shore Boulevard East and Joseph Duggan Road area.

It is reported that:

  • a group of males were heard arguing
  • a number of gunshots were heard
  • the victim was located with a gunshot wound
  • the victim was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased

The victim has been identified as Dacia Mbongo, 21, of Quebec.

On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, investigators executed search warrants in Toronto and Durham Region.

As a result of these search warrants, three people were arrested in relation to this homicide.

Ricardo Wills, 18, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

  1. Second Degree Murder
  2. Robbery

He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 2 p.m., in room 102.

Kenneth Neil, 26, of Ajax, was arrested and charged with:

  1. Second Degree Murder
  2. Robbery

He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 2 p.m., in room 102.

Lukiara Hunter-Wilmot, 19, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

  1. Manslaughter
  2. Robbery

She was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 2 p.m., in room 102.

Homicide – One Sent To Hospital

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of a Homicide investigation.

On Monday, December 30, 2024, at approximately 11:45 p.m., police responded to a call for an Unknown Trouble in the Old Weston Road and Rockwell Avenue area.

It is reported that:

  • officers arrived on scene and located two victims
  • life saving measures were commenced on a 29-year-old man with gunshot wounds
  • he was pronounced deceased on scene
  • a 58-year-old man with stab wounds was transported to hospital in stable condition

The vicitm has been identified as Thomas Coish, 29, of Toronto.

Police are looking for two suspects who both described as male, white and wearing dark clothing.

Homicide Update

As a result of further investigation, Niagara Regional Police Service homicide detectives have positively identified the female found deceased within the home as 59-year-old Lori Konrad.

Lori is the mother of the accused in this investigation, which remains ongoing.

On Sunday, December 29, 2024, the accused attended a bail hearing and was remanded into custody.

ORIGINAL RELEASE – Detectives investigating Niagara Falls Homicide

 At approximately 10:30am on Saturday December 28, 2024, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) uniform officers responded to a residence in the area of Huron and St. Claire Ave in the City of Niagara Falls to check on the welfare of a resident.

When they arrived, they found an adult female deceased within the home.

41-year-old Dale James Vincent of Niagara Falls is facing the following charge: 

  •  Second Degree Murder

There is currently a police presence in the area with Homicide detectives, along with the Forensic Services Unit (FSU) investigating.

Detectives have information to suggest that this was not a random act of violence.

Hanover Homicide Update – BECKMAN Arrested

(HANOVER, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Hanover Police Service (HPS) have laid charges in an ongoing homicide investigation in the Town of Hanover.

On December 17, 2024, at approximately 8:50 a.m., members of the HPS responded to an incident at an address on 5th Street in Hanover. Upon arrival, officers located one person deceased, identified as Colin CAMPBELL, 57 years old of Hanover.

As a result of the investigation, William BECKMAN, 31 years old of Hanover, has been charged with first degree murder, contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on January 13, 2025.

Investigators believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.

(MAGNETAWAN, ON) – The Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is now treating a recent death as a homicide.

On November 21, 2024, at approximately 9:00 a.m., officers located a deceased person in the area of Kirkpatrick’s Road and Highway 124.

The deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Preston DAULTREY of North Bay.

The Almaguin Highlands OPP Crime Unit is continuing the homicide investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Services, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

3 Deceased In Huntsville

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is conducting a homicide investigation following a barricaded person incident in the Town of Huntsville.

On October 25, 2024, shortly before 9:00 p.m., officers of the Huntsville OPP responded to a barricaded person incident after receiving a report of a shooting at a residence on Highview Drive. Roads in the surrounding area were closed to ensure public safety.

Three individuals, including the armed individual, were located deceased.

There is no threat to public safety. However, residents in the area of Highview Drive should expect to see a large police presence throughout the weekend.

The investigation is ongoing by the Muskoka Crime Unit under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, Central Region Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

As a result of the officers’ interaction with the barricaded person, the OPP has notified the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate. As a result, the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.

UPDATE: Homicide Victim Identified

(TAY TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is renewing its appeal to the public for information related to a homicide investigation in the Township of Tay.

On August 17, 2023, just after 2:00 p.m., members of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP responded to reports of gunshots outside a residence on Maple Street. Upon arrival, officers located one individual with apparent gunshot wounds. The individual was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre and succumbed to their injuries on August 22, 2023.

The deceased has been identified as 41-year-old Jamie MILLER of Victoria Harbour.

Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.

Another Homicide

(MIDLAND, ON) – Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are conducting a homicide investigation in the Town of Midland.

On July 15, 2024, shortly before 1:00 p.m., the Southern Georgian Bay OPP, Simcoe County Paramedic Services and Midland Fire Services responded to a call for service at a residence on Seventh Street. Upon arrival, officers located one person deceased. A second individual in the residence was taken to a local hospital and transferred to a Toronto-area trauma centre for serious injuries.

A postmortem examination has been scheduled at the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto.

While police believe this to be an isolated incident, residents are reminded to be aware of their surroundings and remain vigilant of their personal safety at all times.

Police Seeking Public Assistance in Homicide Investigation

(TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH, ON) – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking the public’s assistance to identify a vehicle for an ongoing investigation.

On January 21, 2024, human remains were discovered in the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio. The deceased was identified as William SCHERNHAMMER, a 24-year-old from the Town of New Tecumseth, who was reported missing on January 12, 2024. One individual has been arrested and charged with First Degree Murder.

On January 12, 2024, between 12:29 a.m. to 12:49 a.m., a vehicle was seen on Parsons Road and Dufferin Street in the Town of New Tecumseth. The vehicle is described as a light-coloured vehicle, possibly a Buick LeSabre from 2000-2005.

The driver and/or occupants of this vehicle may possess information that could assist in the ongoing investigation.
