20 Year Old Deceased Following ATV Collision

(CENTRAL FRONTENAC TWP., ON) – The Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a collision which left an ATV rider with fatal injuries.

On Friday, July 4, 2025, shortly after 8:00 p.m., officers and Frontenac Paramedics responded to the scene on McLean Road. Two ATVs had collided, with one driver suffering very serious injuries. Witnesses and others performed first aid until first responders arrived.

The 20-year-old male from Parham was rushed to a local trauma centre. The male was pronounced deceased on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

The investigation into the collision is continuing.

As part of the investigation an approved alcohol screening device was utilized at the collision scene on the non-injured rider. That 20-year-old male was issued a three-day licence suspension for registering within the warning range.

Another Fatal Motorcycle Collision #LookBothWays

(ESPANOLA, ON) – The Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has reopened Highway 6 between Fox Lake Road and Lang Lake Road near Espanola, following a fatal collision that occurred earlier today.

On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the Manitoulin OPP and Manitoulin-Sudbury Paramedic Services responded to a three-vehicle collision involving two passenger vehicles and a motorcycle. As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist was transported to hospital by Manitoulin-Sudbury Paramedic Services where they were pronounced deceased.

The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from the OPP North East Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME), Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) and Reconstructionist.

The Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario – Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OCCO-OFPS) is assisting, and a post-mortem examination with take place at a later date.

20 Year Old Deceased Following Collision

(HAMILTON, ON) – Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Highway Safety Division (HSD) – Burlington Detachment are investigating a two-vehicle collision between a motorcycle and a sedan that resulted in a fatality to the driver of the motorcycle.

At 2:09 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, reports were received of a serious collision involving a sedan and a motorcycle on the westbound 403 highway near the on ramp from the Lincoln Alexander Parkway in Hamilton, Ontario. Emergency services attended the scene and the driver of the motorcycle, a 20-year-old male from Oakville, the lone occupant, was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries and was subsequently declared deceased at the hospital.

The lone occupant of the sedan was not injured and remained on scene.

The OPP-HSD Traffic Support Unit attended to complete a thorough technical/reconstructive motor vehicle investigation of the scene. The highway and various ramps in the area were closed for approximately 4 hours for the collision investigation and cleanup. No charges have been laid and the investigation is ongoing.

Death At Long Term Care Facility – Michelle BIGLOW Arrested

(IROQUOIS FALLS, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested one person in relation to a death at a long-term care facility in the Town of Iroquois Falls. 

On Friday, May 23, 2024, the South Porcupine OPP received a report that a resident of a long-term care facility had experienced medical distress following an incident that occurred on Saturday, May 17, 2024. The 93-year-old male had been transported to a local hospital where he died on Saturday, May 24, 2024.

As a result of the investigation, Michelle BIGLOW, 62 years old of Matheson, was arrested and charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm, contrary to section 221 of the Criminal Code.  

The investigation was conducted by the South Porcupine OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.

Toddler’s Body Recovered From River

(FRONTENAC ISLANDS, ON) – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a drowning incident involving a toddler on Wolfe Island.

On Friday, July 4, 2025, shortly after 9:30 a.m., Leeds OPP responded to a report of an unresponsive toddler who had been located in the St. Lawrence River near Stoney Point Lane.

Family members and first responders immediately initiated life-saving measures. The toddler was transported to a regional trauma centre and was later pronounced deceased.

The toddler’s identity will not be released to safeguard the privacy of the grieving family.

Fatal E-Scooter Collision

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The operator of an e-scooter has died following a collision in Quinte West.

On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Hastings Quinte EMS responded to a collision involving a passenger vehicle and an e-scooter on Stockdale Road, Quinte West.

The 36-year-old operator of the e-scooter was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased.     

OPP Technical Collision Investigators attended the scene and continue to assist with the ongoing investigation.

One Dead – Chelsey KILAR Charged

(SHUNIAH, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad have made an arrest in relation to a fatal collision that happened on Highway 11/17 near Mirror Lake in Shuniah Township on December 17, 2023.

As a result of the investigation Chelsey KILAR, 36-years-old, of Red Rock Ontario has been arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant for the following charges under the Criminal Code:

·      Dangerous operation causing death

·      Operation causing death

·      Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs

The accused has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 7, 2025

Traffic safety remains a top priority of the OPP and is a key component of the OPP’s public safety mandate. Investigations resulting in the loss of life and serious injuries can be complex to investigate. As the vast majority of fatal collisions are preventable, thorough and accurate investigations help ensure that motorists who cause these collisions are held accountable for their driving behaviors. The victims and their families deserve no less.

Body Of Missing Boater Recovered

(KINGSTON, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), in coordination with the Canadian Coast Guard and Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC), has recovered the body of a missing boater following an incident near Milton Island on the St. Lawrence River.

On Monday June 30, 2025, members of the Frontenac OPP and the OPP Marine Unit responded to a report of a male who had fallen off a boat, struck his head on the propellor, and failed to resurface.

Search efforts were conducted over the following two days and on Wednesday July 2, 2025, the body of a 58 year-old male from Toronto was recovered near the location where the incident occurred.

The investigation is ongoing and the identity of the deceased is not being released at this time.

Another Fatality In Lake Huron

(LAMBTON SHORES, ON) – One individual has died following an incident at Ipperwash Beach, Lake Huron, in the Municipality of Lambton Shores.

On June 29, 2025, at approximately 6:20 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Lambton Emergency Medical Services, and local fire responded to a request for assistance on Ipperwash Beach, near the end of Ipperwash Road.

Police attended and located an unresponsive individual who had been brought to shore by another person.

Early investigation determined that the individual had entered shallow water after diving from a vessel and became unresponsive.

The 44-year-old of Lambton Shores was transported to hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.

The investigation is continuing.

The Lambton County OPP would like to thank the members of the public who provided assistance prior to the arrival of emergency responders.

Another Fatality In Lake Huron

(LAMBTON SHORES, ON) – One individual has died following a drowning incident at Ipperwash Beach in the Municipality of Lambton Shores.

On June 30, 2025, shortly after 4:00 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Anishinabek Police Service, Lambton County Emergency Medical Services, and Lambton Shores Fire and Emergency Services responded to reports of two swimmers in distress in Lake Huron near East Parkway Drive.

A 12-year-old from London was safely brought to shore by members of the public and transported to hospital as a precaution.

A second individual was located unresponsive and transported to hospital. Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, an 18-year-old from London was pronounced deceased at hospital.

The investigation is continuing.

The Lambton County OPP would like to thank the members of the public who provided assistance prior to the arrival of emergency responders.

Fishman’s Body Recovered

(APPLETON, ON) – Members of the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with the Emergency Response Team (ERT), the Snow Vehicle, All Terrain Vehicle, Vessel Enforcement/Education (SAVE) unit, and the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU), responded to a report of a missing fisherman in the Mississippi River in Appleton.

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, shortly before 9:00 p.m., officers were dispatched after a 34-year-old male, who had been fishing while standing in the water wearing hip waders, was reported to have gone under the water and not resurfaced. Extensive surface searches were conducted throughout the evening using drones and specialized units.

On the morning of Monday, June 30, 2025, the body of the individual was located and recovered by the USRU.

The OPP thanks the public and emergency partners for their cooperation and assistance.

Police Investgating Death Of 19 Year Old

(GREATER SUDBURY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is conducting a sudden death investigation in the Greater Sudbury Area.

On Friday, May 23, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) members received a call regarding an unresponsive individual at a residence in Lively. Emergency medical services transported the individual to the hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Roch (Rocco) Renaud of the City of Greater Sudbury.

On Wednesday June 18, 2025, the GSPS requested the OPP to assume responsibility for the investigation. A postmortem was conducted at the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OFPS), but a cause of death has not yet been determined.

The investigation is ongoing under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the OFPS.

29 Year Old From Kitchener Dead Following Collision

(CENTRAL FRONTENAC TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a serious collision on Highway 7 in Central Frontenac Township that has left one person deceased.

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., members of the Frontenac Detachment of the OPP were called to a vehicle collision on Highway 7, between McQuaid Road and Silver Lake Provincial Park. The collision involved a car and a coach bus with over 30 passengers. As a result of the incident, the driver of the car, a 29-year-old from Kitchener, is deceased. The driver of the bus was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries; no other injuries were reported.

Frontenac/Lanark County Paramedic Services, Central Frontenac Fire and Rescue, Ministry of Transportation, and OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionist assisted Frontenac OPP in response to the incident.

Fatal Wasaga Beach Collision

(WASAGA BEACH, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a serious collision in the Town of Wasaga Beach that has left one person deceased.

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, at approximately 8:15 p.m., officers from the Huronia West Detachment of the OPP responded to a collision involving a pickup truck and a pedestrian. The collision happened on River Road West between Village Gate Drive and Bells Park Road.

As a result of the incident, the pedestrian, a 73-year-old from Scarborough, is deceased.

Simcoe County Paramedic Services and the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team assisted Huronia West OPP in the response and investigation.
