Abin ROY – Drunk Driving

(NORTH BAY, ON) – Twelve drivers have been charged with impaired driving offences by the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in the month of July 2025.

One of those individuals was arrested after a vehicle rolled over and came to rest in the median ditch along Highway 11 in East Ferris.

On Saturday, July 19, 2025, at approximately 6:15 a.m., the North Bay OPP, East Ferris Fire Department, and District of Nipissing Paramedic Services responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover collision on Highway 11 in East Ferris. Officers determined the driver had been consuming alcohol. The individual was transported to hospital by ambulance, where further breath testing was completed.

As a result of the investigation, Abin ROY, 23 years-of-age from North Bay, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Additionally, the individual received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Drivers are reminded that no amount of alcohol or drugs in your system is safe when driving. Impaired driving is a crime that continues to pose a serious threat to public safety.

Daniel WALSH – Drunk Driving

(BONFIELD, ON) – Twelve drivers have been charged with impaired driving offences by the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in the month of July 2025.

One of those individuals was arrested after a 911 call reported a suspected impaired driver travelling on Highway 17 in Calvin Township.

On Sunday, July 20, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the North Bay OPP responded to a 911 call reporting a suspected impaired driver on Highway 17 in Calvin Township. Officers located and stopped the subject vehicle on Highway 17 in Bonfield and determined the driver had been consuming alcohol. The individual was arrested and transported to the Mattawa OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Daniel WALSH, 64 years-of-age from Pembroke, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Additionally, the individual received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Kenneth SMITHARD Facing Numerous Charges

(ASTORVILLE, ON) – Twelve drivers have been charged with impaired driving offences by the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in the month of July 2025. One of those individuals was arrested following a single-vehicle rollover collision involving a side-by-side that struck a hydro pole in Astorville.

On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the North Bay OPP, East Ferris Fire Department, and District of Nipissing Paramedic Services responded to a report of a rolled-over side-by-side vehicle on Booth Road in Astorville. The vehicle had collided with a hydro pole. The driver was transported by ambulance to hospital, where officers determined the individual had been consuming alcohol. Further testing was completed on site at the hospital.

As a result of the investigation, Kenneth SMITHARD, 58 years-of-age from Winona, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while prohibited under the criminal code
  • Careless driving
  • Driver – fail to properly wear seat belt
  • Fail to wear proper helmet
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Additionally, the individual received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

Drivers who are impaired by drugs or alcohol continue to pose a significant threat on Ontario roads. The OPP remains committed to removing these drivers through enforcement and public education.

Kenneth DEWEVER – Drunk Driving

(RESTOULE, ON) – Twelve drivers have been charged with impaired driving offences by the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in the month of July 2025. One of those individuals was arrested after an OPP officer observed signs of alcohol consumption from an individual at a business in Restoule.

On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., an officer from the North Bay OPP observed a person inside a business on Highway 534 in Restoule who appeared to have consumed alcohol. The officer gathered evidence indicating the individual had recently operated a motor vehicle. The person was arrested and transported to the North Bay OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result, Kenneth DEWEVER, 52 years-of-age from Golden Valley, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Additionally, the individual received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Whether you are impaired by alcohol or drugs, impaired is impaired. Driving under the influence of either is a criminal offence and poses a serious risk to public safety.

Fraser KENNEY – Drunk Driving

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver after receiving a concern from a member of the public.

On July 28, 2025, at 8:35 p.m., Bracebridge OPP responded to a concern from a member of the public about a possible impaired driver in the area of Steamship Bay Road in Gravenhurst. An officer located the vehicle a short distance away, conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested and charged 34-year-old Fraser KENNEY of London, ON with Operation while impaired- Over 80. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on August 26, 2025 to answer to his charges.

Kiiwedin LARONDE Was Arrested

(HARRIS TOWNSHIP, ON) – A collision on private property in Harris Township leads to a driver being arrested for impaired.

On Sunday, July 27, 2025, at approximately 12:15 a.m., the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a collision between a vehicle and a camper trailer at a private property in Harris Township.

As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

Kiiwedin LARONDE, 23 years-of-age of Earlton, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The driver received a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury, on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.

Tow Truck Operator Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(PENETANGUISHENE, ON)- An Etobicoke resident became the subject of a drinking and driving investigation after the OPP Communication Centre was in receipt of numerous complaints by community members of a passed out, possibly impaired driver in a parked tow truck on Broad Street, Penetanguishene on July 26, 2025.

Officers of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the scene at approximately 6:13 a.m. and after parking their cruisers to prevent the driver from fleeing, they spoke with the driver after awaking him and entered into an impaired driving investigation which was continued at the Detachment.

Upon completion of the investigation, 27 year old Anderson Romero ULATE has been charged with the following criminal driving offences of –

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on August 14, 2025, and was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a 7 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

Rory SIEGEL – Drunk Driving

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Shelburne resident with impaired driving-related offences following a traffic complaint.

On July 25, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired driver in the area of First Street in the Town of Orangeville. A short time later, the vehicle was located on 20th Sideroad in Amaranth Township. After speaking with the male driver, officers observed signs of impairment and initiated an impaired driving investigation.

Rory SIEGEL, a 32-year-old male, from Shelburne has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•      Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.

Charlene WEBBER – Impaired Driving, Weapons

(SOUTH-WEST OXFORD, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment responded to a single vehicle collision, resulting in one person being charged with multiple charges.

On July 29, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., while on general patrol, members of Oxford OPP came across a collision on Plank Line in the Township of South-West Oxford.

As a result of the investigation, Charlene WEBBER, a 46-year-old resident of Woodstock, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose (two counts)

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on September 2, 2025.

Jessica KETCHESON – Drunk Driving

(BANCROFT, ON) – Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one person with impaired operation.

On Monday, July 28, 2025, just before 8:30 p.m., Bancroft OPP officers were conducting traffic patrol in the town of Bancroft. Officers conducted a traffic stop when they observed a vehicle driving in a suspicious manor. An approved screening device was used during the stop, as a result the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Jessica KETCHESON, a 46-year-old resident of Kingston, has been charged with the following:

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded for seven days. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on August 12, 2025.

Gregory STURGEON-DOXTATOR – Drunk Driving

(DUTTON-DUNWICH, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin Detachment, has charged an individual following a single vehicle collision on Highway 401, Dutton-Dunwich.

On July 28, 2025, at approximately 12:12 p.m., police responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 401 in the eastbound lanes. A pickup truck came to rest against the guide rail in the centre median.

The driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Gregory STURGEON-DOXTATOR, a 27-year-old from London was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, and
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available (Liquor Licence Act)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on September 2, 2025.

Dalton Fegan Was Arrested

(HALIBURTON COUNTY, ON) Members of the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a vehicle in the ditch that led to the driver being charged with impaired driving.

On July 26th, 2025, at approximately 1:12 a.m. officers responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision that occurred near Gelert Road in Minden Hills Township. Officers attended the scene of the collision and entered into an impaired driving investigation. 

As a result of the investigation, Dalton Fegan, 24, of Somerville Township, was charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and Drugs

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden at a later date.

(ZORRA, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment responded to a single vehicle collision, resulting in one person being charged with impaired driving.

On July 28, 2025, at approximately 10:45 p.m., members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to a collision on Road 68 in Zorra Township.

As a result of the investigation, Alana CEHIC, a 19-year-old resident of Woodstock, has been charged with:

18 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(BLIND RIVER, ON)- On Sunday, July 27, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a black pickup truck that had been taken without consent from a garage on Huron Avenue in the Town of Blind River.

The driver was known to the complainant and later, at approximately 2:15 a.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 in Algoma Mills. Upon arrival, police determined that the vehicle involved in the collision was the same pickup truck reported stolen earlier from Blind River.

While speaking with the driver, officers determined alcohol had been consumed. The individual was arrested at the scene and transported to the Blind River OPP detachment for further processing.

Paul RILEY, 18 years old from Blind River was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Take motor vehicle without consent

·      Fail to have insurance card

·      Drive motor vehicle, no licence

·      Drive motor vehicle, no permit

·      Drive motor vehicle, no plates

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on October 2, 2025. The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension, and the involved vehicle was impounded for 7days.

Evan BEAUSOLEIL Was Arrested

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged the operator of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) after a collision on July 26.

On July 26, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., Bracebridge OPP, along with Muskoka EMS and the Gravenhurst Fire Department, responded to reports of an ATV collision near Highway 11 South in Gravenhurst. Witnesses shared that the ATV had rolled down a ditch and pinned the operator underneath. Bystanders assisted by lifting the ATV off of the operator and he was transported to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

Officers conducted an investigation into the collision and arrested and charged 27-year-old Evan BEAUSOLEIL with Impaired Operation and Over 80. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on September 2, 2025 to answer to his charges.
