Tyler BERRY – Drunk Driving

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Central Huron resident with an Impaired driving offence following a traffic stop for speeding on September 13, 2024, in the Municipality of Central Huron. 

Just after 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024, Huron County OPP stopped a vehicle for speeding on Huron Road in Central Huron. Police spoke to the driver and conducted a roadside screening device test, which resulted in a failure.

The driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Tyler BERRY, 28 years of age from Central Huron has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The accused was additionally charged under the Highway Traffic Act for speeding.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on October 21, 2024.

Jeffrey Laird Drunk Driving

(Harrowsmith, ON) – A vehicle driving at an excessive speed was stopped by an officer, which resulted in charges laid for the driver being impaired.

Just after 11:30 pm on October 2, 2024, a Frontenac detachment member tracked the vehicle travelling north on Road 38, near Murton Road at an excessive speed of One-hundred-fifty-three kilometres per hour, in a posted Eighty kilometre per hour zone.

The officer stopped the vehicle and determined that the driver was impaired. He was arrested and taken back to the detachment for further breath testing.

Jeffrey Laird, age 35, of Kingston was charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

–      Drive Motor Vehicle – perform stunt.

–      Operate a Motor Vehicle without Insurance.

–      Having Care or Control of a motor vehicle with Liquor readily available.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston on October 29, 2024. The accused’s license was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Ravinder RAI – Drunk Driving

(LATCHFORD, ON) – A traffic complaint in Latchford led to the arrest of one person for driving while impaired.

On September 30, 2024, at approximately 10:48 a.m., the Temiskaming Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) responded to a traffic complaint involving a southbound Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) that was all over the road on Highway 11 in Latchford.

The CMV was located and through investigation, officers determined that the driver had been consuming an alcoholic beverage. The driver was arrested and transported to the Temiskaming OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Ravinder RAI, 45 years-of-age of Brampton, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Haileybury Ontario Court of Justice on October 29, 2024. They were issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and their CMV was impounded for 7 days.

3 Vehicle Collision – Drunk Driver Arrested

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Shelburne resident with alcohol related offences as the result of a motor-vehicle collision.

On October 1, 2024, just after 4:30 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers responded to a three-vehicle collision on County Road 124 in the Township of Melancthon.  Officers arrived on scene and were quickly led into an impaired driving investigating.  

Justin GRAHAM, a 28-year-old male, from Shelburne has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville, to answer to the charges.

Xavier CUNNINGHAM – Drunk Driving

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – On September 29, at approximately 4:20 a.m., the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a driver on Haldimand Road 20, Hagersville.

 The investigation determined that a vehicle brought attention to the officer and a traffic stop was conducted.

 As a result, 18-year-old Xavier CUNNINGHAM of Hagersville was charged with:

  •  Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on October 15, 2024.

David SCOTT – Drunk Driving

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – Two drivers are facing impaired driving charges after Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members responded to two separate collisions in the County of Brant on Saturday evening.

On Saturday September 28, 2024, at approximately 5:53 p.m., officers with the Brant County OPP responded to a single-vehicle collision on Bethel Church Road. It was determined a vehicle was traveling on Bethel Church Road when it left the roadway and struck a utility pole. One person was arrested and taken to Oxford OPP detachment for testing.

Police have charged 63-year-old David SCOTT, from Brant County with the following offences: 

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol or drugs

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Adult Dangerous Operation

·        Adult Insecure Load

·        Adult Operate Unsafe Vehicle

·        Adult Vehicle modified – fail to apply for new permit

·        Adult Drive with seatbelt assembly removed

 The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.

On Saturday September 28, 2024, at approximately 6:50 p.m., officers with the Brant County OPP responded to a single-vehicle collision on Middle Townline Road. It was determined a vehicle was travelling on Middletown Townline Road when it left the roadway and struck a guardrail. Police located the vehicle where one person was arrested and transported to the Oxford OPP detachment for testing.

 Police have charged 22-year-old Zachary TOTTEN, from Brant County with the following offences:

 Â·        Adult Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Adult Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Adult Careless driving

·        Adult Fail to surrender insurance card

·        Adult Fail to surrender

 The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.

Robert HATHAWAY – Drunk Driving

(ENNISKILLEN, ON) – On September 30, 2024, around 8:30 p.m., a member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Oil Heritage Road, Enniskillen Township.

As a result of the investigation, Robert HATHAWAY, 43-year-old of Alvinston, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offence:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on October 28, 2024, in the City of Sarnia to speak to the charge.

Michael MANN – Drunk Driving

(ADELAIDE METCALFE, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after member of the public reports a traffic complaint.

On September 28, 2024, at 11:34 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a business on Centre Road in Adelaide Metcalfe, for the report of a possible impaired driver.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol and was placed under arrest without incident.

As a result, Michael MANN, a 63-year-old of Thedford, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on November 6, 2024.

(LONDON, ON) – Driver charged with impaired operation after members of the public report a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 401.

On September 28, 2024, at 1:29 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to the Westbound lanes of Highway 401 in the City of London, for reports of a vehicle in the ditch near Highway 402.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol and was placed under arrest.

As a result, Julia HUGHSON, a 23-year-old of Chatham, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on October 24, 2024.

Dainith TOULOUSE – Drunk Driving

(MISSISSAUGA FIRST NATION, ON)- SUV with no plates pulls out of driveway and driver charged with multiple offences.

On September 28, 2024, the Mississauga First Nation Police Service was on patrol duties on Village Road in the community of Mississauga First Nation.

At approximately 5:00 p.m., police observed a black SUV with no plates backing out of a driveway on Village Road and initiated a traffic stop. While speaking to the driver police determined alcohol had been consumed and a subsequent arrest was made. With the assistance from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) the driver was then transported to Blind River detachment for further testing.

As a result, Dainith TOULOUSE, 34 years-of-age who resides in the community of Mississauga First Nation was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Failure to comply with undertaking

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Video Bail Court in Blind River on September 29, 2024.

The SUV was towed and impounded for seven days with the driver being issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension.

Thomas HOLLAND – Drunk Driving

(PUMMER ADDITIONAL TOWNSHIP, ON)- Driver attempts to reverse out of a ditch prior to police arrival.

On September 28, 2024, at approximately 3:45 p.m., the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision involving a black car in a ditch on Highway 17 near Garden Bay Road in Plummer Additional Township (east of the Town of Bruce Mines).

While speaking to the driver police determined alcohol had been consumed and an arrest was made. The driver was then transported to Sault Ste Marie OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result, Thomas HOLLAND, 59 years-of-age from Cambridge was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on November 7, 2024.

The car was towed and impounded for seven days with the driver being issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension.

As a result of the investigation, David DAY, 64-year-old of Sarnia, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offence:

(NIPIGON, ON) – On September 28th,2024 at approximately 8:47 p.m., officers from the Nipigon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a report of a vehicle that had left the road and become stuck in the ditch. Investigation revealed that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages, the driver was placed under arrest & returned to the detachment for further tests.

Dean MAYHEW, 53, of Dawson Creek, British Columbia was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol.

The accused’s driver’s license was suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for 7 days. The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on November 13th, 2024.

(ERIN, ON) – On September 28, 2024, at approximately 2:45 a.m. officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Detachment were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on Side Road 17, Erin.

As a result of the investigation, Telfer H., BEVERIDGE , 24-years-old of Caledon, was charged with:

Robin Crate – Drunk Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) -Traffic complaint leads to one impaired driver removed from the road.

On September 27th, 2024, at 6:00p.m Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received reports of a vehicle driving through a closed gate on County Road 121.

Officers arrived on scene and located the driver asleep behind the wheel.

57-year-old, Robin Crate from Georgina was arrested and charged with

–      Operation while impaired

–      Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80plus)

In addition to the charges the driver received a 90-day licence suspension, and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

The accused was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
