Petrus VANRENSBURG – Drunk Driving

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a West Perth resident with an Impaired Driving offence following a single vehicle collision into a ditch in the early morning hours of Sunday October 20th, 2024. 

On October 20th, Huron County OPP officers were contacted about a vehicle in the ditch near the intersection of Blyth Road and McNaught Line in the Municipality of Huron East. Officers attended the scene, spoke to the driver, and determined they had been consuming alcohol prior to driving. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and taken into custody. The driver was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton for further breath tests with an OPP qualified breath technician. The accused’ breath samples resulted in readings over two times the legal limit.

Petrus VANRENSBURG, 30 years of age from West Perth has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The accused was additionally charged with offences found in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), and the Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA).

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for December 2nd, 2024, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Michael BACHELDER – Drunk Driving

(MULMUR, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Grey Highlands resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a traffic complaint.

On October 25, 2024, just after 9:30 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to a traffic complain in the area of Highway 89 in the Township of Mulmur. The officers located the vehicle and were quickly led into an impaired driving investigation.

Michael BACHELDER, a 49-year-old male, from Grey Highlands has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

 •     Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended 90 days, and their vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Samuel JENNINGS – Drunk Driving

(AMARANTH, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Orangeville resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a motor vehicle collision (MVC).

On October 26, 2024, just before 6:00 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of County Road 11 in the Township of Amaranth. The officers arrived on scene and were quickly led into an impaired driving investigation.

Samuel JENNINGS, a 27-year-old male, from Orangeville has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended 90 days, and their vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Isaac FITZ – Drunk Driving

(PERRY TOWNSHIP) – Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge one person with impaired driving.

On October 26, 2024, at approximately 11:25 p.m., the Almaguin Highlands OPP responded to a single vehicle collision on Boundary Road, Perry Township.

Through investigation, the driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to a nearby detachment for further testing.

Isaac FITZ, 21 years-of-age of North Bay was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Careless driving

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on November 14, 2024, in Sundridge.

The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Angel RODRIGUEZ – Drunk Driving

(SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX, ON) – Driver facing Impaired driving charge after traffic complaint.

On October 27, 2024, at 1:54 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to Appin Road in the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex for the report of a traffic complaint from a member of the public.

The vehicle was located at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment where further tests were administered.

As a result, Angel RODRIGUEZ, a 32-year-old of Lambton County, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on November 26, 2024.

(MINTO, ON) – On October 27, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m. officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Detachment were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Elora Street South, Harriston.

During the operation, a vehicle was stopped, and the driver was assessed for sobriety. As a result of the investigation Robin A. ESTRELLA-VASQUEZ, 33 years-old of York, was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, On November 5, 2024.

Chelsey LAYTON – Drunk Driving

(LONDON, ON) – Driver facing Impaired driving charge after failing roadside demand.

On October 20, 2024, at 2:18 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol on Oxford Street West, in the City of London, observed a suspicious vehicle at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment where further tests were administered.

As a result, Chelsey LAYTON, a 33-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on November 27, 2024.

Sophie NOALL – Hit & Run, Drunk Driving, Etc.

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested an individual with impaired-related charged after responding to a single-vehicle collision in the Town of Huntsville.

On October 23, 2024, at 9:21 p.m., the Huntsville OPP were dispatched to a single-vehicle collision on northbound Highway 11 near Stephenson Road 2. The vehicle struck a guardrail and went into the ditch before fleeing the scene. As officers were responding to the call, a second report was received regarding a vehicle striking a hydro pole on South Mary Lake Road.

Police, Huntsville Fire Department, and Muskoka Ambulance arrived on scene, and the driver was transported to hospital by EMS with minor injuries. Upon investigation, the driver was arrested for impaired-related offenses.

South Mary Lake Road was closed for over 3 hours but has been re-opened.

As a result of the investigation, Sophie NOALL, 20-year-old of Port Sydney, has been charged with:

· Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

· Fail to remain

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on December 10, 2024, at 9:00 a.m.

Karl FRANK-MCCONKEY – Drunk Driving

(TAY TOWNSHIP, ON) A driver faces impaired charges after colliding with an marked OPP cruiser which resulted in significant damage to both vehicles but thankfully no injuries.

On October 27, 2024, just after midnight, an OPP SUV cruiser with emergency lights activated was pulled over on the south side of Highway 12 in the Township of Tay, in the area of Wye Valley Road. An eastbound minivan struck the rear driver-side corner of the police cruiser causing the minivan to roll onto its side and sending the cruiser into the ditch (see attached photos). The officer in the cruiser was not injured and exited to vehicle, along with other passing motorists, to assist the driver and passenger in the minivan. The driver and passenger were removed safely and were attended to by Simcoe County Paramedics, no injuries were reported.

Upon speaking with the driver, police noticed the signs of alcohol impairment and placed the individual under arrest to be transported to detachment to provide breath samples.

As a result of this investigation, Karl FRANK-MCCONKEY, 31 years of Tay Township, was charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code:

  • Operation while Impaired
  • Operation with a Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80mg

The accused was released to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on November 7, 2024. When charged with impaired driving, the driver’s license of the accused is suspended for 90 days and the vehicle they were operating is impounded for 7 days.

(BOOKE-ALVINSTON, ON) – A traffic stop led to an individual being charged for driving while impaired.

On October 26, 2024, at approximately 12:15 a.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Railroad Line, Brooke-Alvinston.

As a result of the investigation, Jordan BERGSMA, 29-year-old of Dawn-Euphemia Township, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offence:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on November 16, 2024, in the City of Sarnia to speak to the charge.

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) – On October 27, 2024, at approximately 9:45 a.m. officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Detachment were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Jones Baseline, Guelph.

During the operation, a vehicle was stopped, and the driver was assessed for sobriety. As a result of the investigation, Shane ZEVENBERGEN, 53 years-old of Guelph, was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus contrary to the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, On November 8, 2024.

Taylor WATMAN – Drunk Driving

(MUNICIPALITY OF TRENT HILLS, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with impaired operation and stunt driving.

On October 24, 2024, at approximately 7:25 p.m., police responded to a report of a motorist engaging in stunt driving at a car park in the area of Percy Boom Road and County Road 30 in the Municipality of Trent Hills.

Officers responded to the location and the subject of the complaint was no longer present. Through investigative avenues, OPP located the passenger vehicle described by the caller at a nearby residence. Upon speaking with the driver, police entered into an impaired operation investigation. The individual was arrested and transported to a local detachment for further tests.

As a result, Taylor WATMAN (age 26), from Port Hope, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

–      Dangerous operation

–      Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt.

In addition to a future court date, a further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 14-day vehicle impound was initiated as per statute.

(WARWICK, ON) – A traffic stop led to an individual being charged for driving while impaired.

On October 24, 2024, at approximately 1:20 p.m., a member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Nauvoo Road, Warwick Township.

As a result of the investigation, Kylie WELLER, 29-year-old of St. Thomas, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offence:

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

(ERIN, ON) On October 18, 2024, at approximately 11:15 p.m. Wellington County OPP attended a collision involving a single motor vehicle into the ditch on Ninth Line, Erin.

As a result of the investigation, Adrian A. BRUNO, 32-years-old of Brampton, was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Operation While Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to the Criminal Code

No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on October 29, 2024.
