WALLICK Was Arrested

(ATIKOKAN, ON) – A single vehicle rollover collision resulted in criminal charges for an impaired driver.  

On December 11, 2024, at approximately 11:00 am, the Atikokan Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle roll-over collision on Highway 11 approximately 10 km east of Atikokan.  

Investigation determined that alcohol was a factor in the collision and an approved screening device test was administered. The driver failed the test and was arrested and transported to the Atikokan Detachment where additional breath testing was completed by way of demand.     

Michael WALLICK, 47-years-old, from Thunder Bay is charged criminally with one count of impaired operation alcohol or drug and one count of impaired operation blood alcohol concentration 80 milligrams and over.

The accused had his driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Atikokan Ontario Court of Justice on January 30, 2025, to answer to the charges.

This year’s Festive RIDE Campaign runs from November 21, 2024 to January 1, 2025. Citizens are reminded to do their part during the campaign by never driving after consuming alcohol or taking drugs, and never letting anyone else drive if you know or suspect that they have consumed either.

Shawn MILLS – Drunk Driving

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – Police charged a driver with impaired driving offences after responding to an unwanted person.

On December 16, 2024, at approximately 12:00 a.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an unwanted person at a business on Highway 17, West Nipissing.

The individual had driven away prior to police arriving but was later located by police and arrested for impaired driving, the driver was then transported back to the OPP detachment for further testing.

Shawn MILLS, 43 years-of-age, from West Nipissing, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Use plate not authorized for vehicle
  • Drive motor vehicle, fail to display two plates

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on February 6, 2025, in North Bay.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Shawn CAMPBELL – Drunk Driving

(TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) – One person was arrested and charged with impaired driving after Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a motor vehicle found in the ditch in Temiskaming Shores.

On December 15, 2024, at approximately 9:30 a.m., OPP, received information of a vehicle in the ditch on Drive In Theatre Road. Further information indicated a lone male was walking away from the vehicle. OPP arrived moments later and arrested the driver for impaired operation. The driver was then transported to the Temiskaming Detachment for further testing.

Shawn CAMPBELL, 47 years-of-age, from New Liskeard, was charged with:

  •  Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired -blood alcohol concentration (80 Plus)
  • Driving motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor

In addition, the accused received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Haileybury Ontario Court of Justice on January 7, 2025.

Fabian RODNEY – Drunk Driving

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing charges after traffic complaint on Highway 401 Westbound.

On December 15, 2024, at 5:00 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to the Westbound lanes of Highway 401 in Thames Centre, for the report of a possible impaired driver.

The vehicle was located stopped on the centre median shoulder.

As a result, Fabian RODNEY, a 39-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on February 27, 2025.

20 Year Old Arrested For Drunk Driving – Name Released

(SELWYN TOWNSHIP, ON) – Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving after receiving a complaint about a vehicle stopped on Chemong Road.

On Saturday December 14, 2024, the Peterborough County OPP received a call from a concerned motorist reporting that a vehicle was parked on the side of the road with the engine running and what appeared to be vomit on the driver’s side door. The caller reported that the driver also appeared to be sleeping in the vehicle.

Officers arrived on scene to find the driver asleep behind the wheel. Officers woke the individual and determined that they were under the influence of alcohol at which point they were arrested.

Jackson ENDICOTT (age 20) of Selwyn Township, ON., was arrested and charged with:

·      Operation while impaired

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Young Driver – B.A.C. above zero

The accused had their drivers licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on January 21, 2025.

Christian PAYPOMPEE – Impaired Driving

(KENORA, ON) – Members of the Kenora Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation.

On December 13, 2024, just after 9:30 p.m., members of the Kenora OPP Detachment observed a motor vehicle running in a parking lot in the Cambrian Drive area.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle was impaired by drug. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported back to the Kenora OPP Detachment for further testing.

Christian PAYPOMPEE, 32-years-old, of Kenora, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

The accused was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on December 14, 2024.

Terry HUSBANDS – Drunk Driving

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a York resident with a criminal charge, stemming from a traffic stop.

On December 15, 2024, at approximately 4:45 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were conducting a traffic enforcement initiative when they detected a suspicious motor vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on Wellington Road 52 within the Town of Erin.

As a result of the investigation, Terry HUSBANDS, a 36-year-old of York was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on December 24, 2024.

Marcus WEILER – Drunk Driving

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing Impaired driving charge after traffic stop.

On December 14, 2024, at 1:16 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol on Richmond Street in Middlesex Centre, performed a traffic stop on a vehicle.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Marcus WEILER, a 48-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit

·      Drive motor vehicle – no licence

·      Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

·      Fail to have insurance card

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on February 6, 2025.

Adrian CHAKASIM – Drunk Driving

(Moosonee, ON) – A 911 call reporting a ditched vehicle in Moosonee resulted in an impaired driving arrest by the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

On December 14, 2024, at approximately 12:00 a.m., officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver who had driven a vehicle out of a ditch in Moosonee.

The driver and vehicle were located shortly after, and officers determined the individual had been operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, Adrian CHAKASIM, 25 years of age of Moosonee, was arrested and charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on January 14, 2025, in Moosonee. Additionally, the accused received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS).

Stephanie THIVIERGE – Drunk Driving

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – A 27-year-old from London has been arrested after Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Brant County Detachment members responded to a traffic complaint Saturday night in the County of Brant.

On Saturday December 14, 2024, at approximately 9:43 p.m., Brant County OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 403 in the County of Brant. The caller observed driving behaviour that caused them to be concerned and contacted police. Police located the vehicle where one person was arrested and transported to Brantford Police Service for testing.

Police have charged 27-year-old Stephanie THIVIERGE from London with the following offences:

 ·     Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)  

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario on January 3, 2025.

(GRAND BEND, ON) – On December 14, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Ontario Street at River Drive in Grand Bend.

As a result of the investigation, Lauren DIANIS NUNEZ, 36-year-old of Port Franks, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Drive motor vehicle, no permit
  • Fail to surrender insurance card

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on January 13, 2025, in the City of Sarnia to speak to the charges.

Drug Bust At RIDE – Names Released

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in an impaired driving investigation.

On Friday, December 13, 2024, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers were conducting a RIDE program on the Highway 401 off-ramp at Trenton-Frankford Road. An Approved Screening Device was utilized for one driver resulting in that person’s arrest. A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of approximately 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine and the arrest of the passenger.

Jordan HAGGETT, 30 years old from Trenton, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence

Matthew SWEET, 30 years old from Kingston, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine

Both the accused parties were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville at a future date. The vehicle was impounded for seven days, and the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

(PETROLIA, ON) – A traffic stop led to an individual being charged for driving while impaired.

On December 13, 2024, at approximately 12:08 a.m., a member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Wellington Road, south of Dufferin Avenue in Petrolia.

As a result of the investigation, Lyndsey TIGNER, 31-year-old of Petrolia, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with the following offences:

  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence

Levi FREER – Drunk Driving

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrest an Erin resident with two Criminal charges stemming from a single-vehicle collision.

On December 13, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP attended the scene of a single-vehicle collision on Sideroad 10 within the Town of Erin.

As a result of the investigation, Levi FREER, a 22-year-old of Erin was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on December 24, 2024.

Michael Carveth – Drunk Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle in the ditch on Simcoe Street.

On Dember 142024, at 7:45 p.m., officers were dispatched after a motor vehicle had been located on Simcoe Street in the ditch. Witnesses at the scene provided information that the driver of the vehicle had taken off on foot and was no longer at the scene. Responding officers located the driver just north of the vehicle.

Through investigation, Michael Carveth, 36-year-old from Beaverton was arrested and charged with

–      Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

–      Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit

In addition to the charges the driver received a 90-day licence suspension, and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

The accused was released from custody with conditions and will appear later in court.
