Mariano SALVATI – Drunk Driving

(PETAWAWA, ON) – A Township of Laurentian Valley (TLV) resident is facing Criminal Code (CC) impaired driving charges after an incident in the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment area.

On February 8, 2025, at approximately 2:30 a.m., members of the UOV OPP responded after a possible impaired driver was reported in Petawawa.  Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Pembroke Street West in TLV. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing. 

As a result of this incident 25-year-old Mariano SALVATI has been charged with the following CC offences:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on March 3, 2025.

John BRADSHAW – Drunk Driving

(ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP, ON) – On February 11, 2025, just after 10:00 a.m., while conducting general patrol, a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated a traffic stop on Highway 40, north of Holt Line, St. Clair Township.

As a result of the investigation, John BRADSHAW, 44-year-old of Wallaceburg, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Dangerous operation

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on March 10, 2025, in the City of Sarnia.

Anik KARMIJEE – Drunk Driving

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – A vehicle discovered in ditch has resulted in a driver being charged with impaired operation.

On February 3, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were proactively patrolling County Road 22 when they discovered a vehicle several meters off the shoulder of the roadway. Further investigation led to an Approved Screening Device being utilized, and the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Anik KARMIJEE, age 55 from Prince Edward County, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on February 19, 2025. They also had their driver’s license suspended for a period of 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

Gordon BROUGH – Drunk Driving

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – A Tuesday late-night RIDE program by members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in one driver being arrested.

Officers were conducting a RIDE program on County Road 10 at County Road 22 at 3:00 a.m. on February 12, 2025. During the RIDE, officers conducted a test on one driver with the Approved Screening Device. As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

Gordon BROUGH, age 45 of Prince Edward County has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive commercial motor vehicle – no licence

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on March 5, 2025. They also had their driver’s license suspended for a period of 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

Robert NOOTCHITAI – Drunk Driving

(ATIKAMEKSHENG FIRST NATION, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged the driver of a parked vehicle with impaired driving.

On February 11, 2025, at approximately 10:25 p.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP responded to a traffic complaint of a vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway on Reserve Road, Atikameksheng First Nation.

The vehicle was located, and the driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to an OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Robert NOOTCHITAI, 58 years-of-age, from Atikameksheng First Nation, was charged with,

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 12, 2025, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Brandon GYORI – Drunk Driving

(KINGSVILLE, ON) – One person has been charged with impaired driving following a collision in Kingsville.

On February 11, 2025, at approximately 7:05 p.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Kingsville Detachment, responded to a motor vehicle collision in the Municipality of Kingsville. 

Brandon GYORI, 27-years-old of Blandford-Blenheim, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Dangerous Operation

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on February 19, 2025.

Lisa CHRISTIANSON – Drunk Driving

(ST. CHARLES, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a driver with impaired driving offences.

On February 11, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP responded to a traffic complaint of a vehicle in a ditch on Highway 535, St. Charles.

The vehicle was located, and the driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to an OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Lisa CHRISTIANSON, 52 years-of-age, from St. Charles, was charged with, operation while impaired – alcohol and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 5, 2025, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Jacobo BUECKERT – Drunk Driving

(LAKESHORE, ON) – One person has been charged with impaired driving following a traffic complaint in Lakeshore.

On February 10, 2025, at approximately 7:53 p.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a traffic complaint on Gracey Side Road in the Municipality of Lakeshore. 

Jacobo BUECKERT, 56-years-old of Wheatley, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on February 25, 2025, to speak to the charges.

Tessa WOOKEY Facing Numerous Charges

(MULMUR, ON) – The Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with impaired operation related offences following a collision.

On February 9, 2025, just before 7:00 p.m., officers from Dufferin OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision involving one vehicle that had driven off of the roadway. Upon arrival to the scene, located on County Road 18 near 17 Sideroad in Mulmur Township, officers were quickly led into an impaired driving investigation.

Tessa WOOKEY, a 42-year-old from Mulmur has been charged with:

•      Adult Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Adult Fail to surrender insurance card

•      Adult Driver fail to give identification

•      Adult Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

•     Adult Fail to surrender licence

•      Adult Fail to surrender insurance card

•      Adult Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

Magdalena SLOMINSKI – Drunk Driving

(LAURENTIAN HILLS, ON) – A driver is facing Criminal Code (CC) charges after a single-vehicle collision in the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment area.

On February 9, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., the UOV OPP responded to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 17 in Laurentian Hills. Investigation found that the eastbound vehicle lost control and collided with the guard rails near Josie Lane. The driver was not seriously injured. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was taken into custody for further tests. Test results were more than three times the legal blood alcohol limit. Police also seized open alcohol from the vehicle.  

As a result of this incident Magdalena SLOMINSKI, age 30 of Sault Ste. Marie, ON, has been charged with the following CC offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke March 3, 2025.

Paul Valliere – Drunk Driving

(BAYHAM, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin Detachment, has charged an individual following a traffic complaint.

On February 10, 2025, at approximately 4:50 p.m., a member of the Elgin OPP investigated a traffic complaint on Light Line, west of Plank Road in the Municipality of Bayham.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined the driver was impaired.

The driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to Elgin County Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Paul Valliere, a 77-year-old from Bayham was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on March 18, 2025.

Edwin ADDAI SARFO – Drunk Driving

(ALLISTON, ON) – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver for driving while impaired in the Town of New Tecumseth.

On February 7, 2025, shortly after11:30 p.m., A Nottawasaga OPP officer was conducting general patrol in the area of Victoria St and Boyne St in Alliston. The officer observed a passenger vehicle proceeded through the intersection on the red light.

the officer conducted a traffic stop for the offence under the Highway Traffic Act. Upon further investigation, the officer could smell an odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver at which time the officer issued an Approved Screening Device demand (ASD). subsequently provided a sample which resulted in a “Fail”. 

At 11:46 p.m., the driver: Edwin ADDAI SARFO 28 years-old, of Bradford, Ontario was charge with:  

•Red light – fail to stop

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

In addition to the charges, the driver was issued a 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. 

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Bradford on March 13, 2025, to answer to the charges.

Katrina FISHER – Drunk Driving

(MARATHON, ON) – A single motor vehicle collision ended with criminal charges for an impaired driver. 

On February 6th, 2025, at 3:30 p.m., members of the Marathon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a call for service for a single vehicle motor vehicle collision on Highway 627.

Investigation determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol, and an approved screening device (ASD) test was administered. The driver failed the test and was arrested and transported to the Marathon Detachment where additional breath testing was completed.    

Katrina FISHER, 39-years-old, from Pic River is charged criminally with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had her driver’s licence suspended and the vehicle was impounded. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Marathon Ontario Court of Justice on March 26, 2025, to answer to the criminal charges.

CAVANAUGH Was Arrested

(ESPANOLA, ON) – One person is facing impaired related charges after a report was made to police.

On February 8, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call reporting that a potentially intoxicated person had left a local bar in a vehicle. Police located the vehicle nearby, and the driver was arrested for impaired operation.

As a result, the driver, Shannon CAVANAUGH, 47-years-old from Barrie, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on March 10, 2025.

Paige NAHWEGAHBOW – Drunk Driving

(ESPANOLA, ON) – One person is facing impaired related charges after the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop.

On February 8, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Manitoulin OPP were heading to assist the Anishinabek Police Service (APS) with a call for service in Sagamok First Nation. One person involved in the occurrence left in a vehicle, and were reported to be potentially impaired. The Manitoulin OPP located the vehicle in Massey, and further investigation resulted in the driver being arrested for impaired operation.

As a result, the driver, Paige NAHWEGAHBOW, 29-years-old from Little Current, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on March 10, 2025.
