WEBSTER Was Arrested – Details Released

(DUTTON-DUNWICH, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin Detachment, has charged an individual following a traffic complaint.

On March 4, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m., a member of the Elgin OPP investigated a traffic complaint reported by a staff member of LCBO regarding an intoxicated customer. The suspect motor vehicle was located on Fingal Line near Grandview Road, in the Municipality of Dutton-Dunwich.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined the driver was impaired.

The driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to Elgin County Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Benjamin WEBSTER, a 42-year-old from Dutton was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on April 15, 2025.

Joshua LIGHTBODY – Drunk Driving

(NORTH ALGONA WILBERFORCE TWP, ON) – A driver is facing Criminal Code (CC) charges after a single-vehicle collision in the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment area.

On March 3, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., an off-duty OPP officer reported a single-vehicle in the ditch on Highway 60 in North Algona Wilberforce (NAW) Township.  No injuries were reported. The driver was taken into custody, and testing was conducted at the detachment.   

As a result of this incident 38-year-old Joshua LIGHTBODY of Admaston-Bromley Township has been charged with the following CC offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke April 3, 2025.

Peter DICKS – Drunk Driving

(BANCROFT, ON) – Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with impaired operation after locating a truck in the ditch.

On Wednesday. March 5, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Bancroft OPP officers attended the scene of the collision. Officers conducted a roadside test with an Approved Screening Device and as a result the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

As a result, Peter DICKS, a 66-year-old resident of Bancroft, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80) plus
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on March 25, 2025.

Joshua LACHANCE – Drunk Driving

(STONE MILLS TOWNSHIP, ON) – Lennox and Addington County Detachment members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one person with impaired driving and multiple other charges following a vehicle stop in Stone Mills Township.

On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, shortly after 9:00 p.m., L&A County OPP members stopped a vehicle travelling north on County Road 4 near County Road 14. Following an investigation, Joshua LACHANCE, a 35-year-old from Murdocville, Quebec was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol
  • Disobey stop sign – fail to stop
  • Drive unsafe vehicle
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on March 25, 2025. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded.

39 Year Old Arrested In Wasaga Beach – Details Released

(WASAGA BEACH, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one individual with impaired driving related charges after an officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle operating without rear lights.

On March 6, 2025, at approximately 12:45 a.m., Huronia West OPP officers conducted a traffic stop while on general patrol on Mosley Street in Wasaga Beach. After a brief discussion with the driver, the officer conducted an impaired driving investigation. As a result, Julia MACFARLAND, 39-year-old of Clearview Township, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Adult Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Niagara Police Naming & Shaming Drunk Drivers #Victory

In an effort to bring further attention and deterrence to driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, the Niagara Regional Police Service will be reporting the names of those people who are charged with an alleged criminal impaired driving offence in the Region.

In addition to being charged, these individuals are also bound by a Ministry of Transportation 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and are prohibited from operating a motor vehicle on a roadway. The public is encouraged to contact the Niagara Regional Police Service Traffic Safety Hotline or Crime Stoppers to report those who are driving in contravention of the suspension.

The following individuals have been charged criminally with impaired driving by alcohol or drugs, driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 mgs or above of alcohol in 100 ml of blood, or refusing to provide a breath / blood sample.

Carolyn Verbakel – Drunk Driving

(TILLSONBURG, ON) – An individual from Tillsonburg is facing impaired driving-related charges stemming from a collision that occurred on Lisgar Avenue in the Town of Tillsonburg.

On March 5, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of the Oxford Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment were dispatched to Lisgar Avenue in the Town of Tillsonburg for a report of a single vehicle, motor vehicle collision.  

Officers attended and spoke to the lone occupant of the vehicle.

Carolyn Verbakel, 61-years-old, of the Town of Tillsonburg, has been charged with:  

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

·      Dangerous Operation

There were no reported injuries because of this collision.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on April 15, 2025.

Marc CARRIERE – Drunk Driving

(MOONBEAM, ON) – A police response to a disturbance in Moonbeam led to the arrest of a driver for impaired operation.

On March 2, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were investigating a disturbance call when they gathered evidence suggesting that one of the individuals involved had been driving while impaired. Police located the driver and vehicle in Moonbeam, and determined the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage and placed them under arrest. The individual was transported to the Kapuskasing OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result, Marc CARRIERE, 47 years of age of Moonbeam, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 7, 2025, in Kapuskasing. Additionally, they received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Joanne Baker – Drunk Driving

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – On March 4, 2025 at 6:43 p.m., the Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a vehicle stuck in the ditch on Ravenscliffe Road in the Town of Huntsville.

Upon arrival, police located a female driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver failed the Roadside Screening Device and was required to submit to further Breath Testing.

As a result of the investigation, Joanne Baker, 50-year-old of McMurrich/Monteith Township, Ontario, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·       Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs 

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 29, 2025.

The accused received a 90 day Drivers License Suspension and their vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

If you plan to drink alcohol or take drugs, don’t include driving in that plan. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another option that takes driving out of the picture altogether.  If you suspect someone is driving impaired, call 911.

Christopher MACDONALD – Drunk Driving

(BURKS FALLS, ON) -One person was arrested and charged for impaired driving after the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision.

On March 5, 2025, at approximately 3:00 a.m., the Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Victoria Street in the Village Burks Falls. No injuries were sustained. 

As a result of the investigation, Christopher MACDONALD, 42 years-of-age, of Burks Falls, was arrested and charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sundridge on April 10, 2025.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

40 Year Old From Dundalk Arrested

ESSA, ON) – Officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving after stopping at a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program in the Township of Essa.

On March 4, 2025, shortly after 11:30 pm, Nottawasaga OPP Officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. program on Brentwood Road. A vehicle entered the R.I.D.E. program and an officer spoke with the driver. After a brief conversation with the driver, the officer determined they were under the influence of alcohol. The officer made a demand for the Approved Screening Device (ASD). The driver complied with the demand and provided a sample of their breath resulting in a “Fail” at which point they were arrested.

Ante HRKAC 40-years-old from Dundalk, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused had their drivers licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 3, 2025.

Audrey Armstrong – Drunk Driving

(TILLSONBURG, ON) – An individual from Mount Elgin is facing impaired driving-related charges after officers were flagged down by a concerned bystander in the Town of Tillsonburg.

On March 4, 2025, at approximately 9:20 a.m., members of the Oxford Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were conducting general patrol in the Town of Tillsonburg when they were notified by a concerned bystander of a possible impaired driver.  

Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

Audrey Armstrong, 59-years-old, of Mount Elgin, has been charged with:

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

Haley REIMER – Drunk Driving

(KINGSVILLE, ON) – One person has been charged with impaired driving after a traffic stop in Kingsville.

On February 28, 2025, at approximately 11:43 p.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Division Street South in the Town of Kingsville.

Haley REIMER, 33-years-old of Kingsville, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Disobey stop sign – fail to stop (Two counts)
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to speak to the charges.

Steven GRAVES – Drunk Driving

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged the driver of a vehicle in the ditch with impaired operation.

On March 3, 2025, shortly after 11:00 p.m., officers responded to a vehicle in the ditch on Winston Churchill Boulebard, near Old Base Line Road, in the Town of Caledon. During the interaction, grounds were formed that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.

As a result of the investigation, Steven GRAVES, 44, of Caledon, was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concertation (80 plus)

• Operation while impaired – alcohol 

The accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on March 20, 2025, to answer to the charge.

Michael Turner – Drunk Driving

(BRANT, ON) – The Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged a driver with multiple offenses following a collision on Highway 24 South.

On Saturday, March 1, 2025, at approximately 8:58 p.m., Brant County OPP received a 911 call from witnesses reporting a vehicle swerving on the highway before colliding with a snowbank near Colborne Street West. Officers arrived on scene and located the driver, who displayed signs of impairment.

As a result of the investigation, Michael Turner of Ancaster 39, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance (Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act)
  • Fail to Apply for Permit on Becoming Owner (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was arrested and transported to detachment for further testing. He has been released from custody with a future court date in Brantford.
