Melanie BURLEY – Drunk Driving

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – A vehicle discovered in ditch has resulted in a driver being charged with impaired operation.

On March 9, 2025, at approximately 12:00 a.m., members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a single vehicle collision on Taft Road. Further investigation led to an Approved Screening Device being utilized, and the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Melanie BURLEY, age 44 from Caledon, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 26th, 2025. They also had their driver’s license suspended for a period of 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

Jordan LEWIS – Drunk Driving

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – A traffic stop has resulted in a driver being charged with impaired operation.

On March 10, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Highway 49.   • Operation while impaired – alcohol

  • Driving with improper headlights

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 2, 2025. They also had their driver’s license suspended for a period of 90 days and vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Robert William Dunlop – Drunk Driving

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) – On March 9, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m. officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Detachment were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Edinburgh Avenue in Fergus.

During the operation, a passenger van entered the RIDE program. As a result of the investigation, Robert William Dunlop, 63-years-old from Fergus, was charged with:

–  Operation While Impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus contrary to the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on March 18, 2025.

Jaxon SANDS Was Arrested

(WALPOLE ISLAND FIRST NATION, ON) – On March 6, 2025, at approximately 9:50 p.m., members of the Walpole Island Police Service with the assistance of Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single-vehicle into a ditch on High Banks Park Road and River Road north, Walpole Island First Nation.

There were no injuries reported.

As a result of the investigation, Jaxon SANDS, a 21-year-old of Walpole Island First Nation, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Walpole Island First Nation on April 10, 2025.

Thomas MOFFATT Was Arrested

(MISSISSIPPI MILLS, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Smiths Falls resident with impaired driving.

Officers respond to a single vehicle collision on Martin Street North in Mississippi Mills Township on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at approximately 4:30 a.m. The vehicle did significant damage to a hydro pole and a fence.

 Officers investigating the collision arrested the driver who was transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries. While there, testing was conducted that resulted in charges.

 As a result of the investigation, Thomas MOFFATT, age 32, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Operation while impaired – Alcohol

·      Dangerous Operation

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on April 7, 2025.

 The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension), and the vehicle has been impounded for seven days

Jamie Clarke – Was Arrested

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – On March 10, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an alarm call in Fenelon Falls.

Upon checking the business, officers located an individual nearby. After speaking with the individual, officers initiated an investigation into impaired driving.

As a result of the investigation,

41-year-old Jamie Clarke from Barrie was arrested and charged with:

– Operation while impaired (blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg)

In addition to the charges, the driver received a 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

The accused was released from custody with conditions and will appear in Court at a later date.

19 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge – Name Released

(PUSLINCH TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Cambridge resident with one criminal, and two provincial charges stemming from a single motor-vehicle collision into a ditch.

On March 8, 2025, at approximately 5:45 a.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were dispatched to a single motor-vehicle into a ditch on Laird Road West within Puslinch Township.

As a result of the investigation, Tyler GROSS, a 19-year-old of Cambridge is charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
  • Driving while under suspension

There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on March 18, 2025.

Kimberly Elliott – Drunk Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – On February 7, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m., members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Kings Wharf Road regarding a vehicle stuck in a ditch.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the driver, and after conducting an investigation.

34-year-old Kimberly Elliott of Barrie was arrested and charged with the following offences:

–      Operation while impaired (alcohol and drugs)

–      Operation while impaired (blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg)

As a result of the charges, the driver received a 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

KIRAN SINGH – Drunk Driving

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with impaired operation following a traffic complaint.

On March 6, 2025, shortly after 11:00 p.m., Caledon OPP responded to a traffic complaint. The officers located the vehicle in the community of Southfields Village. During the interaction, grounds were formed that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.

As a result of the investigation, KIRAN SINGH, 22, of Caledon, was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concertation (80 plus)

The accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on March 27, 2025, to answer to the charge.

Shelby JOHNSTON Was Arrested

(ORILLIA, ON) – Members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint on Coldwater Rd and Peter St for a possible impaired driver.

On March 6, 2025, at approximately 10:40 p.m., officers from the Orillia detachment of the OPP were alerted by a member of the public of a possible intoxicated person leaving a local restaurant in a motor vehicle. Officers quickly began patrols in the area and located the vehicle shortly after on Highway 12.

As a result, Shelby JOHNSTON; 30-year-old, from Oro-Medonte, ON. has been subsequently charged with:

·      Operation while impaired by alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – 80 plus

Luc ROUTHIER – Drunk Driving & Speeding

(MOONBEAM, ON) – A routine traffic stop for excessive speed led to impaired driving charges for one individual.

On February 17, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling 135 km/hr in a posted 90 km/hr zone on Highway 11 in Moonbeam. During the stop, officers determined that the driver had consumed alcohol and subsequently placed them under arrest. The individual was transported to the Kapuskasing OPP detachment for further testing.

Further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been taken without the owner’s consent.

As a result, Luc ROUTHIER, 25 years of age of Kapuskasing, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Take motor vehicle without consent

·        Speeding – 135 km/hr in a posted 90 km/hr zone

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 17, 2025, in Kapuskasing. In addition, the accused received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS).

Wayde Beckett – Drunk Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation after receiving information about a vehicle that entered a ditch.

On Thursday March 06, 2025 at approximately 11:21 pm officers responded to reports regarding a motor vehicle that entered a ditch and required a tow truck on White Rock Road in Mariposa Township. The driver was arrested and charged.

Wayde Beckett, 28-year-old of Mariposa Township, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days

Patrick TACCONE – Drunk Driving

(SUDBURY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a Sudbury driver with impaired driving offences.

On March 6, 2025, at approximately 1:35 p.m., the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the OPP responded to a traffic complaint of a vehicle that had struck the guard rails on Highway 69, Sudbury.

Police attended the scene, and the driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to an OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Patrick TACCONE, 41 years-of-age, from Sudbury, was charged with, operation while impaired – alcohol, and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on April 3, 2025, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

William STEPHENSON – Drunk Driving

(ADELAIDE METCALFE, ON) – Driver facing impaired charge after two-vehicle collision sends one driver to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On March 5, 2025, at 7:26 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex-London Paramedic Service and Adelaide Metcalfe Fire were dispatched to Egremont Drive in Adelaide Metcalfe for the report of a two-vehicle collision.

One involved driver was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the other driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, William STEPHENSON, a 36-year-old of Forest has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on May 1, 2025.

22 Year Old From South Bruce Arrested

(BLUEWATER, ON) – One individual is facing charges after a single motor vehicle roll over.

On March 6, 2025, at approximately 1:29 a.m., the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Bluewater Highway and Blue Bluffs Road. When officers arrived, they located a vehicle approximately 100m into a field and it appeared that it had rolled over. 

Zackery Bumba, 22 years-old, of South Bruce was charged with:

·      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous operation

·      Fail to have insurance card

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich on April 7, 2025.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute for all vehicle drivers.
