Ashley HARRIS – Drunk Driving

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after receiving a report of a single vehicle collision.

On April 5, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Renfrew OPP received a report of a vehicle in a ditch on Hayley Road, near Highway 17 in Whitewater Region Township.

Police arrived on scene a located a vehicle approximately 20 feet down in a ditch submerged in water. The driver did not require medical attention.

As a result of the investigation, Ashley HARRIS, age 37 of Otter Lake, Quebec was charged with:

·        Operation while impaired- alcohol

·        Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on May 14, 2025. The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Summer HUNTER – Drunk Driving

(SHELBURNE, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Orangeville resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a R.I.D.E. program.

On April 3, 2025, just before 12:00 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot check in the area of Owen Sound Street in the Town of Shelburne. A vehicle entered the area and was met by the officers. After a brief conversation, the officers were quickly led to an impaired driving investigation.

Summer HUNTER, a 26-year-old female, from Orangeville has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

•      Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.

Jose SACRAMENTO – Drunk Driving

(CALEDON, ON) – Members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint, leading officers to charge a driver with impaired operation.

On April 5, 2025, shortly after 10:00 p.m., Caledon OPP responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Mayfield Road and Bramalea Road, in the Town of Caledon. The vehicle was described as being operated in a concerning manner. Officers located the vehicle and met with the driver. During the interaction, grounds were formed that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol, leading to the driver’s arrest.  

As a result of the investigation, Jose SACRAMENTO, 47, of Caledon, was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Operation while impaired – alcohol 

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on April 24, 2025, to answer to the charge. The driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven.

Gary Paget – Drunk Driving

(MALAHIDE, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), St. Thomas Detachment has charged an individual following a traffic stop.

On April 6, 2025, at approximately 1:45 a.m., members of the Elgin OPP stopped a passenger vehicle on Hacienda Road, Malahide Township.

While speaking to the driver, the investigating officer observed signs of intoxication and a roadside approved screening device (ASD) test was administered, registering a failure. The driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Elgin County OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Gary Paget, a 59-year-old from St. Thomas was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on May 13, 2025.

Cynthia BERUBE – Drunk Driving

(MATHESON, ON) – A traffic complaint on Fourth Avenue in Matheson leads to charges.

On Sunday, April 6, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the Iroquois Falls Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Fourth Avenue, in Matheson. 

Police located the vehicle and determined the driver had consumed alcohol. The driver was transported to a nearby detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Cynthia BERUBE, 58 years-old, of Matheson was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 29, 2025, in Timmins.

Jason BEREZNY – Drunk Driving, Hit & Run

(LOYALIST TOWNSHIP, ON) – Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one person following a two-vehicle collision in a parking lot.

On Saturday, April 5, 2025, shortly after 9:00 p.m., L&A County OPP members attended the scene of a collision in the parking lot of a Loyalist Township business. No injuries were reported. Following an investigation, the suspect vehicle was located nearby.

Jason BEREZNY, a 53-year-old from Odessa, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol
  • Failure to stop after accident

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on April 22, 2025. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded.

Norma-Jean ROBINSON – Drunk Driving

(MIDLAND, ON) – An officer from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on patrol on King Street, downtown Midland witnessed a vehicle crash into a roadside fire hydrant at approximately 1:20 p.m. April 4, 2025.

The officer began an investigation into the crash which led to an impaired driving investigation of the lone occupant.

As a result of the investigation, Norma-Jean ROBINSON 57-years of Penetanguishene has been charged criminally with the following offences.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on the April 17, 2025, and was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a 7 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

Michael MACLEAN – Drunk Driving

(WASAGA BEACH, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving related charges because of a traffic tip.

On March 30, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers responded to a traffic tip of a possible impaired driver in the area of 45th Street South in the Town of Wasaga Beach.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle at the owner’s address. After speaking with the owner/driver, officers noticed an odour of alcohol on the individual’s breath and conducted an impaired driving investigation. As a result of the investigation, Michael MACLEAN, 49-year-old of Wasaga Beach was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

ROBITAILLE – Drunk Driving

(MIDLAND, ON) – A two vehicle property damage only crash in Tiny Township near 6:29 p.m. on April 2, 2025, led officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to attend and enter into an impaired driving investigation.

Officers located an involved vehicle in the nearby area away from the crash scene and spoke with the driver and a investigation was commenced.

As a result, 56 year old Marc David ROBITAILLE of Tiny Township has been charged criminally with the following offences.

  • Dangerous operation
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

And Further Provincial Offences Of

  • Fail to surrender insurance card
  • Entire plate not plainly visible

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on the April 17, 2025, and was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a 7 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

Steven Coveney – Drunk Driving

(Perth Road, ON) – An impaired driver was arrested and charged after an officer stopped the vehicle for a traffic stop.

A Frontenac OPP member was on patrol, in the area of Perth Road village on April 01, 2025, when a vehicle traveling the opposite direction flashed their headlights several times, traveling the opposite direction. Just after 11:40 pm the officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, where the driver exhibited signs of alcohol use.

The driver was requested to provide a roadside breath test, which resulted in an arrest of the driver, who was taken to the Kingston Police headquarters for further breath testing.

A search of the vehicle, after the arrest, located a knife under the driver’s seat.

Steven Coveney, a 46-year-old from Kingston has been charged with:

  • Operation of a conveyance while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus.
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The driver was released from custody and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston, on April 29, 2025. They also had their drivers license suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for a period of 7 days.

The OPP would like to remind people that Impaired Driving is a serious threat to public safety. Highway safety is a team sport, do your part and plan a safe ride home.

DUNDAS – Drunk Driving

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing impaired charge after traffic complaint in Middlesex Centre.

On April 1, 2025, at 9:02 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to Egremont Drive in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre, for the report of a possible impaired driver.

The vehicle was located at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Erin DUNDAS, a 43-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on May 13, 2025.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.

Savannah BARR Was Arrested

(ATIKOKAN, ON) – An impaired driver that hit the ditch prompted a 9-1-1 call from a concerned citizen.

On April 1, 2025, at approximately 7:30 pm, officers with the Atikokan Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a 9-1-1 call from a concerned citizen reporting that an impaired driver was in the ditch in the Steep Rock Road area of town.

Officers attended and verified that alcohol was involved in the collision. An approved screening device test was demanded. The driver failed the test and was arrested at the scene. The driver was then transported to the Atikokan Detachment where additional breath testing was completed.

Savannah BARR, 29-years-old from Atikokan is charged criminally with one count operation while impaired drugs and alcohol, and one count of operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration 80 mgs and over. The involved vehicle was impounded for seven days, and the accused received a 90-day driver licence suspension.

The accused was released by police and is scheduled to appear in the Atikokan Ontario Court of Justice on May 29, 2025, to answer to the charges.

FLOOD Arrested For Drunk Driving

(SEGUIN, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one person with impaired driving.

On March 31, 2025, at approximately 12:00 p.m. the West Parry Sound OPP were dispatched to a traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired driver. The vehicle was located and stopped on Cargill Drive in Seguin Township. Officers spoke with the driver and initiated an impaired driving investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Robert FLOOD, 67 years-of-age of Barrie Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Having care or control of a motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor
  • Have care or control of a vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on May 1, 2025. The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

VINCENT Was Arrested

(MIDLAND, ON) – Observations by a community member of a possible impaired driver resulted in a call to the OPP Communications Centre with responding officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attending a Simcoe County Road 93, Midland gas bar near 8:18 p.m. March 31, 2025.

The suspect vehicle was located in the parking lot and officers entered into an impaired driving investigation upon speaking with the lone driver.

As a result of this investigation, Elizabeth VINCENT 31 years of Penetanguishene being charged criminally with the following criminal charges.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on the April 17, 2025, and was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. Zachary VERONEZ – Drunk Driving

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – A traffic stop has resulted in a driver being charged with impaired operation.

On Saturday, March 29, 2025, at approximately 2:15 a.m., members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Highway 62. The investigation resulted in the driver being arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

As a result, Zachary VERONEZ, age 20 from Belleville, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Mischief

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 16, 2025. They also had their driver’s licence suspended for a period of 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.
