Jennifer Witmer – Drunk Driving

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), has charged an individual following a collision investigation.

On April 20, 2025, at approximately 2:15 a.m., the Elgin OPP responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a passenger vehicle on Kerr Road and Queens Line, in the Municipality of West Elgin.

No injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation, Jennifer Witmer, a 30-year-old from Rodney was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on June 3, 2025.

Freddy Shorts – Drunk Driving

 (Kingston, ON) – An officer from Frontenac OPP was patrolling for speed enforcement and holiday / long weekend traffic initiatives when a vehicle traveling at an excessive speed was stopped. After the vehicle stopped it was determined that the driver was impaired.

On April 18, 2025, just after 11:30 pm an officer observed a vehicle traveling north on highway 15 at an excessive speed of 157 kms/h in a posted 80 kms/h zone. Once the vehicle was stopped, the use of an alcohol screening device (ASD) showed that the driver was impaired.

The driver was arrested and taken to detachment for further breath testing.

Freddy Shorts, a 47-year-old from South Frontenac Township was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
  • Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed (HTA)

The driver was released from custody and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston, on May 13, 2025. They also had their drivers license suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for a period of 7 days.

 As a result of the stunt drive for excessive speed, the drivers license was suspended for 30 days and the vehicle additionally impounded for 14 days.

Sarah Ann Rolfe Was Arrested – Details Released

(Kingston, ON) – A RIDE check (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) was conducted at the on-ramp for Montreal Street and the 401 highway in Kingston, which resulted in the arrest of an impaired driver.

 On April 19, 2025, around 8:15 pm Frontenac OPP had a vehicle stopped at the RIDE check point and detected alcohol coming from the driver. An alcohol screening device (ASD) was used at the roadside, which resulted in a ” FAIL “. The driver was arrested and taken to detachment for further breath testing.

Sarah Ann Rolfe, a 29-year-old, from South Frontenac Township has been charged with:

  • operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The driver was released from custody and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston on May 27, 2025. They also had their drivers license suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for a period of 7 days.

Alan MILLER – Drunk Driving

(PLUMBER ADDITIONAL TOWNSHIP, ON) – A person was charged after police conducted a Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on Highway 638 in Plumber Additional Township.

On April 18, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m. the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a white Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and spoke to the driver. An odour of alcoholic beverage was emanating from the driver’s breath and they displayed signs of alcohol impairment. They were subsequently arrested and the vehicle was towed and impounded.

Alan MILLER, 61-years-old, from Bruce Mines was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired by alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on June 5, 2025.

Victoria MILLER – Drunk Driving

(BLIND RIVER, ON) – A person was charged after police received a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver on Highway 17.

On April 17, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m. the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complainant from the Espanola area. This was regarding a westbound small white car all over the road and operating with no lights on. The vehicle was stopped in Blind River a short time later and the driver was spoken to. Police detected the odour of alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath. It was also learned that the driver was prohibited from driving. They were subsequently arrested and the vehicle was towed and impounded.  

Victoria MILLER, 28-years-old, from Chelmsford was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired by alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive while Prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Operation while Prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on June 5, 2025.

Jeffrey Gibson – Drunk Driving

(Kingston, ON) – A traffic complaint for a vehicle speeding and driving aggressively, has resulted in the arrest of the driver receiving several charges.

Just after 7:00 am on April 17, 2025, Frontenac OPP received multiple complaints from witnesses about a vehicle speeding westbound along the 401 highway near Kingston. A Frontenac OPP member located the vehicle passing Joyceville Road and confirmed the vehicle speed at 178 km/h on the highway, in a 100 km/h zone. The driver was arrested for stunt driving – excessive speed.

During the arrest, the officer detected alcohol coming from the driver. An alcohol screening device (ASD) was used at the roadside, which resulted in the driver registering a ” FAIL ” on the device.

The operator of the vehicle was taken to the Kingston Police station for further breath testing.

  • Operation while impaired, blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
  • Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed.

Mario Sami – Drunk Driving

(EDWARDSBURGH CARDINAL, ON) – A tractor-trailer driver has been arrested and charged with impaired driving offences following two reported traffic complaints on Highway 416, in Edwardsburgh Cardinal Township. 

On April 16, 2025, just after 9:00 p.m., an off-duty police officer and a member of the public called police to report a traffic complaint involving a tractor-trailer that was driving in the middle of the road and well-under the posted speed limit, northbound on Highway 416. Members of the Grenville County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) quickly located the vehicle while still on Highway 416 and stopped it. 

The officers’ observations led into a roadside impaired driving investigation. The driver was subsequently arrested, and further testing was conducted at the Grenville County OPP Detachment. Test results were more than three times the legal limit. 

Mario Sami, 47 years of age, of Toronto, Ontario, was charged criminally with operation while impaired – alcohol, and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus. The accused was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with unnecessary slow driving. 

The accused was later released with a future court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville.

Branden MAINPRIZE – Drunk Driving

(TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) – A traffic complaint results in a driver charged with impaired.

On April 12, 2025, at approximately 6:15 p.m., the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 11 in Temiskaming Shores. Officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 11 and Wilson Road.

As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested and transported to the Temiskaming detachment for further testing. The vehicle was towed and impounded.

Branden MAINPRIZE, 31-years-of-age of Grimsby, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
  • Litter highway

The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury, on April 29, 2025.

William MIDDLETON – Drunk Driving

(WASAGA BEACH, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving related charges because of a traffic tip.

On April 15, 2025, shortly after 4:30 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers responded to a traffic tip of a possible impaired driver in the Town of Wasaga Beach.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle on Mosley Street. During the interaction, officers formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol, leading to an arrest. As a result of the investigation, William MIDDLETON, 90-year-old of Wasaga Beach, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Collingwood on May 20, 2025, to answer to the charges.

James CLANCY – Drunk Driving

(PUSLINCH TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Guelph resident with two criminal charges, stemming from a motor vehicle collision.

On April 14, 2025, at approximately 4:45 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP attended the scene of a motor vehicle landing in a ditch on Little Road within Puslinch Township.

As a result of the investigation, James CLANCY, a 58-year-old of Guelph is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on April 29, 2025.

Colton MAIR Was Arrested

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual after a motor vehicle collision.  

On April 11, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m. members of the Dryden OPP Detachment responded to a motor vehicle collision on Memorial Avenue in the City of Dryden.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that one of the drivers involved in the collision had been consuming alcoholic beverages. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Dryden OPP Detachment for further testing.

Colton MAIR, 21-years-old, of Dryden, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

·         Dangerous operation

·         Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·         Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden March 26, 2025.

Martin JANZ – Drunk Driving

(ESSEX COUNTY, ON) – Driver facing impaired charge as a result of a two-vehicle collision.

On April 10, 2025, at 5:06 p.m., members of the Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Essex Windsor Paramedic Service were dispatched to the intersection of County Road 20 and Graham Side Road in Kingsville, Essex County, for the report of a two-vehicle collision.

An involved driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Essex County OPP Detachment.

The driver of the second vehicle was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result, Martin JANZ, a 55-year-old of Kingsville, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on April 23, 2025.

The Essex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.

Roland GARBUTT – Drunk Driving

(PLUMMER ADDITIONAL TOWNSHIP, ON)- Traffic complaint on Highway 17 leads to impaired charges.

On Saturday, April 12, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint of an eastbound white car with no licence plates that was swerving all over the road at inconsistent speeds in the Desbarats area. 

Police observed the white car to be weaving from side to side and struggling to maintain its lane. A traffic stop was initiated near Garden Bay Road in Plummer Additional Township (west of Bruce Mines). Upon speaking with the driver, police determined that alcohol had been consumed, and a subsequent arrest was made. 

Roland GARBUTT, 44 years-of-age from Red Deer Alberta was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on May 20, 2025.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension, and the involved vehicle was impounded for 7days.

(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving related charges after a two-vehicle collision.

On April 12, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers responded to a vehicle collision on Highway 26 in Springwater Township.

Officers located the involved vehicles on George Johnston Road, one still on the road and the other in the ditch. Officers spoke with the driver of the vehicle in the ditch and after noticing an odour of alcohol on the driver, officers conducted an impaired driving investigation. As a result of the investigation, Dominik BRUDZYNSKI, 24-year-old of Angus, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·      Drive Vehicle or Boat with Cannabis Readily Available

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

21 Year Old Arrested – Details Relased

(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one individual with impaired driving related charges after an officer was alerted by the ALPR.

On April 11, 2025, at approximately 10:45 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers were conducting traffic enforcement westbound on Queen Street in Springwater Township. Officers were alerted by the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system which prompted further investigation by the officer resulting in a traffic stop. After a brief discussion with the driver and observing open alcohol in the vehicle, the officer conducted an impaired driving investigation. As a result, Riley NORRIS, 21-year-old of Penetanguishene, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Adult Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·      Adult Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·      Adult Operation While Prohibited – Legal Restriction from Any Other Act of Parliament or Provincial Law

The male was additionally charged under the with:

·      Novice Driver Fail to Surrender Licence

·      Novice Driver – B.A.C. Above Zero

·      Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
