Tyler LECKIE Was Arrested

(LAKESHORE, ON) – One person has been charged following a traffic complaint in the Municipality of Lakeshore.

On May 1, 2025, at approximately 10:25 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on County Road 22 in the Municipality of Lakeshore. 

Tyler LECKIE, 29-years-old of Belle River, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Dangerous operation
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on May 15, 2025, to answer to the charges.

Sharon URDZINS – Drunk Driving

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON)-  Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint, leading officers to charge a driver with impaired operation.

On April 30, 2025, shortly after 11:30 p.m., Nottawasaga OPP responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Victoria Street East, in the Town of New Tecumseth. The vehicle was described as being operated in a concerning manner. Officers located the vehicle and met with the driver. During the interaction, grounds were formed that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol, leading to the driver’s arrest.  

As a result of the investigation, Sharon URDZINS 42-years-old of Alliston was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Having care or control of motor vehicle with liquor in open baggage
  • Possess more than one licence

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on May 29, 2025, to answer to the charge. The driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven.

Adam COOK – Drunk Driving

(TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) – A Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program in Temiskaming Shores resulted in the arrest of a driver.

On Sunday, April 27, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting a RIDE program in Temiskaming Shores when they stopped a vehicle on Cedar Avenue. Officers requested a breath sample using an Approved Screening Device (ASD).

The driver was arrested and transported to the Temiskaming detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Adam COOK, 31-years-of-age of Charlton, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury, on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

James LARMON – Drunk Driving

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Tay Valley resident with impaired driving.

Officers responded to a single vehicle collision on Narrows Lock Road in Tay Valley Township on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, just after 5:30 p.m.

The officer, while conducting a traffic investigation, arrested and transported the individual to the Lanark Detachment in Perth for testing.

As a result of the investigation, James LARMON, age 36, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on May 26, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension), and the vehicle has been impounded for seven days.

22 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge – 178 in an 80

(Harrowsmith, ON) – An impaired driver was arrested and charged after an officer stopped the vehicle for an excessive speed.  

A Frontenac OPP member was on patrol, on Road 38, south of Harrowsmith on May 01, 2025, when a vehicle traveling the opposite direction was locked on a radar unit traveling at a speed of 178 kms/h in a posted 80 kms/h zone. Just after 1:00 am the officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, where the driver exhibited signs of alcohol use.

The driver was requested to provide a roadside breath test, which resulted in an arrest of the driver, who was taken to the Frontenac detachment for further breath testing.

A search of the vehicle found open liquor and cannabis.

William MACDONALD, a 22-year-old from Sydenham has been charged with:

  • Operation of a conveyance while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus.
  • Dangerous operation
  • Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed.
  • Drive motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor.
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available.

The driver was released from custody and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston, on June 10, 2025. They also had their drivers license suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for a period of 7 days.

Scott CARPENTIER Was Arrested

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Shelburne resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a traffic complaint.

On April 27, 2025, at approximately 2:50 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Centre Street in the Town of Shelburne. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a male driver, observed signs of impairment, and subsequently initiated an impaired driving investigation.

Scott CARPENTIER, a 61-year-old male, from Shelburne has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.

Jennifer BOUCHER – Drunk Driving

(ADELAIDE METCALFE, ON) – Driver facing impaired charge after traffic stop in Adelaide Metcalfe.

On April 28, 2025, at 9:19 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol on Centre Road in Adelaide Metcalfe, observed a vehicle travelling above the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Jennifer BOUCHER, a 47-year-old of Strathroy, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on June 9, 2025.

Jeremy RUTTLE – Drunk Driving

(TWEED, ON) – A member of the Central Hastings Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was able to nab an impaired driver – while on foot.

On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, shortly before 9:30 a.m., an officer was on Colborne Street in Tweed when she spotted a vehicle moving at a high rate of speed in the 50-kilometer per hour zone.

The driver stopped when the uniformed officer stepped out and indicated that the person needed to pull over.

An Approved Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for additional testing.

A search of the individual and the vehicle resulted in the seizure of suspected cocaine, suspected methamphetamine and suspected MDMA (ecstasy), as well as open alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, Jeremy RUTTLE, age 48 of Tweed, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance – three counts
  • Driving with an open container of liquor
  • Fail to apply for a permit upon becoming a vehicle owner
  • Fail to surrender permit for a vehicle

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on May 12, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

4 More Impaired Drivers Arrested – Names Released

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged another four drivers with impaired driving.

On Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 2:40 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a call from a member of the public about the condition of a driver on Muskoka Road 169 in Bala in Muskoka Lakes Township. Police conducted an investigation and subsequently arrested and charged 35-year-old Adam BUSCH of Hannon, ON with Impaired Operation CC 320.14(1)(a), Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b) and Transportation Fraud CC 393(3). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on June 3, 2025 to answer to his charges.

Also on April 27, 2025 at 8:45 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers received several traffic complaints from motorists driving on Highway 11 North in Gravenhurst about a vehicle that was described creating unsafe conditions. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Highway 11 just north of Bethune Drive. The driver was soon arrested and police have charged 20-year-old Celine LAFERRIERE of Port Sydney with Impaired Operation CC 320.14(1)(a), Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b), Dangerous Operation CC 320.13(1), Young Driver having B.A.C. above zero HTA 44.1(5) and Driving Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available LLCA 42(1)(b). She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on May 20, 2025 to answer to her charges.

On Monday, April 28, 2025 at 4:20 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers were investigating a report of a person causing a disruption at a business in Mactier and were made aware that the suspect had left in a vehicle that she did not have permission to be driving. The owner of the vehicle located it in Port Carling and the female party fled the scene. She was located a short time later, on foot, by officers and placed her under arrest. Police have charged 52-year-old Paula LEPONIEMI of Barrie, ON with Impaired Operation CC 320.14(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b). She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on June 3, 2025 to answer to her charges.

On Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 1:40 a.m. a Bracebridge OPP officer was conducting general patrol in the town of Bracebridge and observed a vehicle travelling on Manitoba Street commit a traffic infraction. The officer conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested and charged 68-year-old Randall HUSSEY of Feversham, ON with Impaired Operation CC 320.14(1)(a), Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b) and Red Light-Fail to Stop HTA 144(18). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on June 3, 2025 to answer to his charges.

Dean Bottschen – Drunk Driving

(SOUTHWEST OXFORD, ON) – An individual from the Township of Southwest Oxford is facing impaired driving related charges following a collision.

On April 28, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the Oxford Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were dispatched to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Plank Line, in the Township of Southwest Oxford.

Dean Bottschen, 53-years-old, of the Township of Southwest Oxford, has been charged with:

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

There were no reported injuries from the collision.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on June 17, 2025.

Surjit JOHAL Was Arrested

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Orangeville resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a traffic complaint.

On April 24, 2025, at approximately 11:44 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Mono-Amaranth Townline in the Town of Mono. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the complainant, who reported observing a male parked in a vehicle who appeared to have sustained head trauma.

Officers then made contact with the male, who was being treated by paramedics at the scene. During their interaction, officers observed signs of impairment and subsequently initiated an impaired driving investigation.

Surjit JOHAL, a 24-year-old male, from Orangeville has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•      Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.

Kayla WALSH – Drunk Driving

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – A person was charged after police conducted a vehicle stop on Taylor Boulevard in Elliot Lake.

On April 29, 2025, at approximately 1:45 a.m. the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a small silver car and spoke to the driver. An odour of alcoholic beverage was emanating from the driver’s breath and they displayed signs of alcohol impairment. Police also located an unsealed bottle of liquor which was accessible to the driver. After a subsequent roadside test was completed, the driver was arrested and the vehicle was towed and impounded.

Kayla WALSH, 30-years-old, from Sudbury was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired by alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on June 12, 2025.

Robert EGAN Was Arrested

(CAVAN MONAGHAN TOWNSHIP, ON) – Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged an individual with impaired driving after being stopped as a result of a traffic complaint.

On Sunday April 27, 2025, shortly after midnight, Peterborough County OPP Officers received a call reporting a vehicle having difficulty maintaining it’s lane. Officers located the vehicle and after observing the driving, conducted a traffic stop. Officers approached the vehicle and upon speaking with the driver, detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from their breath. A demand for an Approved Screening Device (ASD) test was read. The driver complied with the demand and provided a sample of their breath resulting in a reading of ‘FAIL’ at which point the driver was arrested.

Robert EGAN (age 34) of Hastings, ON., was arrested and charged with;

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had their drivers licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on May 27, 2025

Jonah MURRANT – Drunk Driving

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – An early morning RIDE program by members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in one driver being arrested.

Officers were conducting a RIDE program on Highway 62 at approximately 2:00a.m. on April 27, 2025. During the RIDE, an Approved Screening Device was used, which resulted in a driver being arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

Jonah MURRANT, age 28 of Belleville has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on May 14, 2025. Their driver’s licence was also suspended for a period of 90 days and their vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Earl COLLINS – Drunk Driving

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – A traffic stop has resulted in a driver being charged with impaired operation.

On Friday, April 25, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Highway 33. The investigation resulted in the driver being arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

As a result, Earl COLLINS, age 52 from Prince Edward County, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 14, 2025. They also had their driver’s licence suspended for a period of 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.
