Mary DEFRIAS – Drunk Driving

(ZORRA, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment responded to a traffic complaint, resulting in one person being charged with impaired driving.

On May 31, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to a traffic complaint on Road 68 in the Township of Zorra.

As a result of the investigation, Mary DEFRIAS, 46-years-old, of the Town of Ingersoll, has been charged with:

•        Dangerous Operation

•        Operation While Impaired – Alcohol

•        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on June 24, 2025.

19 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – On May 31, 2025 at 3:44 p.m. officers of the Huntsville O.P.P. responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Camp Kitchen Rd in the Town of Huntsville.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers observed signS of alcohol consumption and identified the driver who officers suspected had been consuming alcohol. The driver was required to provide a sample into an Approved Screening Device. The driver registered a fail and was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, Jacob LAKE, 19 years old of Huntsville Ontario, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Novice driver – BAC above 0

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on July 8, 2025.

The accused was issued a 90 Administrative Driver’s License Suspension and his vehicle has been impounded for 7 days.

Ontario has a graduated licensing system for new or young drivers. One of the conditions is drivers must have zero alcohol in their body when operating a vehicle.

Samuel HARRIS – Drunk Driving

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – On May 29, 2025 at 1:34 p.m. officers of the Huntsville O.P.P. were on general patrol on Highway 11 when they observed a vehicle driving erratically. A traffic stop was initiated and the suspicion of alcohol was made.

The driver was required to provide a sample into an Approved Screening Device. The driver registered a fail and was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, Samuel HARRIS, 34 years old of Bracebridge Ontario, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on July 8, 2025.

The accused was issued a 90 Administrative Driver’s License Suspension and his vehicle has been impounded for 7 days.

1 OPP Detachment Nabs 21 Impaired Drivers In May


(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – 
The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged another driver with impaired driving, bringing the total of drivers charged by Bracebridge OPP to twenty-one.

On May 31, 2025, at 11:45 p.m., a Bracebridge OPP officer was conducting general patrols proactively on Muskoka Road 118 in Muskoka Lakes Township and conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle driving in a concerning manner. Police arrested and charged 29-year-old Taylor DEVITT of Gravenhurst with Operation while Impaired and Operation while Impaired – Over 80. She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on July 8, 2025 to answer to her charges.

Amy HENDRICK – Drunk Driving

(SOUTH FRONTENAC TWP., ON) – A single vehicle collision in South Frontenac Township has led to impaired driving charges.

On Thursday, May 29, 2025, shortly before 4:30 p.m., officers with the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle collision on Keeley Road. A vehicle had left the road but remained upright. Frontenac Paramedics attended the scene but the driver refused medical treatment.

Officers utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device, and the driver was arrested and transported for the detachment for further testing.

Amy HENDRICK, age 24 of South Frontenac Township, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston on June 24, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Calvin SUGANAQUEB Was Arrested

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – On May 31st, 2025 at approximately 5:39 a.m., officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a traffic complaint along Highway 61, within the City of Thunder Bay.

The complaint vehicle was located & a traffic stop was initiated. Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages, was placed under arrest & returned to the detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, Calvin SUGANAQUEB, 42, of the First Nation Territory of Wunnumin Lake, Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs;
  • Dangerous Operation;

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on June 25th, 2025.

2 More Impaired Drivers Taken Off The Road

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two drivers with impaired driving after receiving concerns from members of the public.

On May 23, 2025, just before 3:00 p.m., Bracebridge OPP officers received a concern from a member of the public who was driving on Highway 11 South in Bracebridge about the driving behaviour of another motorist. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and subsequently arrested and charged 34-year-old Kimberly ELLIOTT of Barrie, ON with Operation while Impaired, Operation while Impaired – Over 80 and Operation while Prohibited. She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on June 24, 2025 to answer to her charges.

On May 24, 2025, just before 7:00 p.m., Bracebridge OPP officers responded reports of concerning driving from a member of the public on Highway 11 North in Bracebridge. The vehicle was located a short time later travelling south on Highway 11 South and officers conducted a traffic stop. Police arrested and charged 38-year-old Alanna ROGERS of Bracebridge, ON with Operation while Impaired, Operation while Impaired – Over 80 and Dangerous Driving. She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on June 17, 2025 to answer to her charges.

Laura RIZZO & Sylvia GOLEC Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two individuals with alcohol related offences.

On May 24, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Caledon OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint in the area of McEwan Drive East and Highway 50, in the Town of Caledon. Shortly after, investigating officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Officers subsequently formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

Following the investigation, Laura RIZZO, 52, of Bolton, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

On May 26, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Caledon OPP officers received a report of a single vehicle collision on Innis Lake Road, near King Street, in the Town of Caledon. Shortly after, officers arrived on scene and subsequently formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, Sylvia GOLEC, 30, of Etobicoke, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Both accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on June 12, 2025, to answer to their charges. The vehicles were also impounded for a period of seven days, and their driver’s licences were suspended for a period of 90 days.

Noah FELSBOURG Was Arrested

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – On May 25, 2025, at approximately 12:15 a.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a vehicle stopped on the side of the road on Wellington Road 2 east of Clifford. 

As a result of the investigation, Noah FELSBOURG 24-years-old of Southgate Township, was charged with:

– Operation While Impaired – alcohol and drugs contrary to the Criminal Code

– Operation While Impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on June 3, 2025.

Stephen FARRELL Was Arrested

(MIDLAND, ON)- A report to the OPP Communication Centre of a vehicle that had crashed into the ditch of Simcoe County Road 6 at approximately 9:20 p.m. May 25, 2025 resulted in a prompt response from officers of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Upon arrival at the scene between Concessions Roads 8 and 9 of Tiny Township responding officers, Tiny Township Fire Service and Simcoe County Paramedics located the vehicle on its side with the driver unable to exit the vehicle. The driver was extricated from the vehicle and was triaged at the scene to be transported to an area hospital as a precaution.

Upon speaking with the driver, the officers had entered into an impaired driving investigation which has resulted in 58 year old Stephen FARRELL of Woodbridge being charged criminally with the following offences.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

And further with the following Provincial Offences

  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
  • Fail to have insurance card
  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
  • Careless driving

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on June 26, 2025, and was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a 7 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

Lawn Tractor Driver Arrested For Impaired

(TAY VALLEY TOWNSHIP, ON) – Taking a lawn tractor for a drive along a recreational trail has resulted in an impaired driving charge for a Tay Valley Township resident.

On Saturday, May 24, 2025, shortly after 9:00 p.m., officers with the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting traffic enforcement along Highway 7, between Perth and Maberly, when they observed a lawn tractor being operated on an ATV trail. When the rider spotted the officers, he drove off in the opposite direction. The officers were able to intercept and stop the individual on the trail.

An approved alcohol screening device was utilized, and the individual was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

Jim DIXON, age 59 of Tay Valley Township, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on June 16, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and the lawn mower was returned to its rightful location.

(PUSLINCH TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrest a Guelph resident for impaired driving, after conducting a traffic stop.

On May 22, 2025, at approximately 9:40 a.m., members of the Wellington County OPP conducted a traffic stop on Brock Road South in Puslinch Township.

As a result, James P THOMPSON, a 58-year-old of Guelph was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on June 6, 2025.

House Vs Drunk Driver – One Arrested

A male is facing impaired driving charges after crashing into a home in Whitby.                                             

On Saturday May 24, 2025 at approximately 11:50 p.m., members from Central West Division attended the area of Carnwith Drive East and Watford Street after a motor vehicle left the roadway and struck a house.

A white Chevrolet pick-up was travelling northbound on Watford Street at a high rate of speed when he failed to stop for the stop sign and crashed into a home. The collision caused significant structural damage to the residence.

The driver of the pick-up truck fled the scene on foot. Officers searched the area with the assistance of Air1 and located the male not far from the scene of the incident. The male was arrested and taken to Central East Division to provide breath samples.

Lucas DESBOIS age 25, of Whitby is charged with: Impaired Operation of a Conveyance, Impaired Operation Exceed Blood Alcohol ConcentrationDangerous Operation of a Conveyance and Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident.

He was released on an Undertaking.

Due to the significant damage to the residence, members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene and investigated the incident. The area of the roadway was closed for a period of time while evidence was collected. This collision is still under investigation.

KUMAR & Singh Arrested – Details Released

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two individuals with alcohol related charges on Friday.

On May 23, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Caledon OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint regarding a vehicle displaying poor driving behaviour. Shortly after, officers located the vehicle on Highway 10, near Charleston Sideroad, in the Town of Caledon. Investigating officers conducted a traffic stop upon the vehicle and formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

Following the investigation, Sukhpal Singh, 23, of Brampton, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Just hours later, on the same day, Caledon OPP officers received a report of a single vehicle collision on The Gore Road, near Mayfield Road, in the Town of Caledon. Shortly after 11:45 p.m., officers arrived on scene and subsequently formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, Abhinandan KUMAR, 23, of Brampton, was charged with:

  • Driving while under suspension
  • Possess more than one licence
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Both accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on June 12, 2025, to answer to their charges. The vehicles were also impounded for a period of seven days, and their driver’s licences were suspended for a period of 90 days.

Drivers continue to take chances. It’s simply not worth the risk. Motorists are reminded that no amount of alcohol or drugs in your system is safe when driving. If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture. If you suspect that someone is driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, it is important to call 9-1-1 to report it.
