Steven HOBSON – Impaired Driving

NEW TECUMSETH, ON)- Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual with impaired driving following a traffic complaint in the Town of New Tecumseth.

On June 12, 2025, shortly after 9:00 a.m., Nottawasaga OPP responded to a traffic complaint in Tottenham heading southbound on Tottenham Road. The vehicle was described as being operated in a concerning manner, failing to stop for red lights. Officers were able to quickly locate the vehicle on Tecumseth Pines Drive, in the the Town of New Tecumseth, where they were met with the driver. During the interaction, grounds were formed that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired, leading to the driver’s arrest.  

As a result of the investigation, Steven HOBSON 60-years-old of Tottenham was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm
  • Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • Red light – fail to stop – community safety zone
  • Fail to surrender insurance card
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
  • Driver fail to surrender licence

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on July 10, 2025, to answer to the charge.

Krystal LACK – Drunk Driving

(PETERBOROUGH COUNTY, ON) – Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a fifth individual with impaired in less than a week.

On June 11, 2025, at approximately 5:15pm, Peterborough County OPP officers received a call regarding an individual that had been found within a vehicle and was not conscious. The complainant was concerned that the driver may have had a medical episode, so EMS was contacted as well. Officers arrived on scene to find that EMS had already transported the driver to a local hospital for assessment. Officers attended the hospital and upon speaking with the driver, determined them to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and then later transported to an OPP detachment for further testing where they provided samples of their breath registering over three (3) times the legal limit.

Krystal LACK (age 54) of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township, ON., was arrested and charged with;

·       Operation while impaired

·       Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 15, 2025.

Joshua STEINBERG Arrested Following Collision

(LAKESHORE, ON)- On June 11, 2025, at 6:35 a.m., members of the Lakeshore Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were dispatched to Gracey Side Road near Lakeshore Road 301 in the Municipality of Lakeshore for report of a single vehicle collision.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to a local OPP detachment.

As a result, Joshua STEINBERG, 47-years-of age \of Lakeshore has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor to speak to the charges on July 27, 2025.

There were no injuries reported.

Jessica RANEY Arrested For Drunk Driving

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an Orangeville resident with impaired driving-related offences following a traffic stop.

On May 31, 2025, shortly after 1:10 a.m., officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a traffic violation on Clara Street in the Town of Orangeville. A traffic stop was conducted, and upon speaking with the female driver, officers observed signs of impairment and initiated an impaired driving investigation.

Jessica RANEY, a 32-year-old female, from Orangeville has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•     Disobey stop sign – fail to stop

•     Possess more than one licence

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.

George PANTON Was Arrested

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Brantford resident with impaired driving-related offences following a traffic complaint.

On June 10, 2025, shortly after 10:00 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers received a traffic complaint in the area of Airport Road in the Township of Mulmur. Officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Upon speaking with the male driver, officers observed signs of impairment and began an impaired driving investigation.

George PANTON, a 45-year-old male, from Brantford has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

•      Drive – hand held communication device

•      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

•      Drive motor vehicle – no licence

The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.

23 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(THESSALON, ON)- East Algoma OPP lays 21st impaired charge in 2025.

On Sunday, June 8, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., members of the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting patrols in the Town of Thessalon when they observed a black pickup truck travelling westbound at a high rate of speed on Lakeside Drive.

A traffic stop was conducted on Highway 17 near Lakeside Drive. During the interaction with the driver, police determined that alcohol had been consumed. As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to the Thessalon detachment for further testing.

Gabriel MERRYLEES, 23 years-of-age from Echo Bay was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80) plus

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on August 7, 2025.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension, and the involved vehicle was impounded for 7days.

75 Year Old From Parkhill Arrested

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after two-vehicle collision in North Middlesex.

On June 7, 2025, at 7:14 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex London Paramedic Service and North Middlesex Fire were dispatched the intersection of Centre Road and Nairn Road in North Middlesex for report of a serious two-vehicle collision between a passenger vehicle and a pickup truck.

Four individuals from the passenger vehicle were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup was also transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries where they were placed under arrest.

As a result, Mary GLANVILLE, a 75-year-old of Parkhill has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – Alcohol

·      Dangerous operation

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 22, 2025.

Lacee PHUNG Was Arrested

(DUTTON-DUNWICH, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin Detachment, has charged an individual following a traffic complaint.

On June 7, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., police received a traffic complaint from a citizen on Highway 401. Police stopped the suspect vehicle in the Municipality of Dutton-Dunwich and determined the driver was impaired.

The driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to Elgin County Detachment for further testing

As a result of the investigation, Lacee PHUNG, a 42-year-old from Windsor was charged under the Criminal Code with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on July 22,2025.

Andrew ROCHON Arrested Following Collision

(MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP, ON) – A driver was arrested and charged for impaired driving following a single vehicle collision this morning on County Road 43, in Montague Township. 

On June 10, 2025, just after 7:30 a.m., officers with the Lanark County and Grenville County OPP Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle roll-over collision on County Road 43, near Kilmarnock Road. Callers reported a pick-up truck travelling at a high rate of speed, passing another vehicle before going off the roadway into a ditch. 

Officers arrived on scene and had to break the front windshield to get the driver out. The officers’ observations led to an impaired driving investigation and the driver submitted a roadside breath sample, and the driver was subsequently arrested. The Lanark County Paramedic Service attended, and the driver was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. Further testing was completed by police at the hospital, where breath results registered more than three times the legal limit. 

Andrew ROCHON, 40 years of age, of Merrickville-Wolford Township, was charged under the Criminal Code with: 

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous operation 

The accused was also charged under provincial legislation for improper tires and having care or control of a motor vehicle with an unsealed container of liquor. 

The accused was later released from police custody with a future court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth.

Ryan SMITH – Drunk Driving

(Geraldton, ON) – Members of the Greenstone Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation. 

On June 9th, 2025, just before 11:00 p.m., members of the Greenstone OPP Detachment initiated a traffic stop for a speeding motor vehicle on Highway 11 close to Michael Power Boulevard.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol/drug. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Greenstone OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Ryan SMITH, 35-years-old, of Thunder Bay has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with:

·        Adult Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Adult Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) 

·        Adult Speeding 1- 49 Km/h over posted limit

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Geraldton on July 3rd, 2025.

BUICK Arrested For Drunk Driving

 (TILLSONBURG, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment responded to a traffic complaint, resulting in one person being charged with impaired driving.

On June 9, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to a traffic complaint on Broadway in the Town of Tillsonburg.

As a result of the investigation, Crystal BUICK, a 48-year-old resident of the Town of Tillsonburg, has been charged with:

•        Dangerous Operation

•        Operation While Impaired

•        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus

 The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on July 22, 2025.

Nathan Walters – Drunk Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation after receiving information about a two vehicle collision.

On Monday June 09, 2025 at approximately 5:38 pm officers responded to reports regarding a motor vehicle collision on Sturgeon Road, both vehicles were travelling northbound on Sturgeon Road when the collision occurred. Officers arrested and charged the driver with impaired driving related charges.

Nathan Walters, 37-year-old of Lindsay, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days and drivers license was suspended for 90 days.

Jesse Mercier Was Arrested

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation after receiving information about a single vehicle collision.

On Sunday June 08, 2025 at approximately 8 pm officers responded to reports regarding a motor vehicle driving southbound on Eldon Road that failed to stop at the stop sign and drove straight into the southbound ditch of Ramsey Road. Officers arrested and charged the driver with impaired driving related charges.

Jesse Mercier, 33-year-old of Prince Albert, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days and drivers license was suspended for 90 days.

William HATCH – Drunk Driving

(LAMBTON SHORES, ON) – An individual has been charged with impaired operation following a collision.

On June 6, 2025, just after 8:30 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 21 at Lakeshore Road in the Municipality of Lambton Shores.

Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle off the roadway. There were no injuries reported.

As a result of the investigation, William HATCH, 45-year-old of Camlachie, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Sarnia on August 18, 2025.

Alex SKRIABOW Was Arrested

(BANCROFT, ON) – Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with impaired operation during RIDE program in the Town of Bancroft.

On Saturday, June 7, 2025, just before 11:00 p.m., Bancroft OPP officers were conducting a RIDE program on Mill Street. One driver was transported to the detachment for testing.

Alex SKRIABOW, a 65-year-old resident of Bancroft, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80) plus
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol

The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded for seven days. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on July 8, 2025.
