Death Investigation Update – Deceased Identified

(WASAUKSING FIRST NATION, ON) – The Anishinabek Police Service (APS) and the West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have identified the deceased in connection with a death investigation on Wasauksing First Nation.

On October 21, 2024, the APS was conducting follow-up to a missing person on Lane D, Wasauksing First Nation, when officers located a deceased person. The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Johnathon DOLSON, from Munsee Delaware First Nation, who was previously reported missing.

Two people were arrested and charged with Indignity to a dead body, contrary to section 182(b) of the Criminal Code.

The West Parry Sound OPP Crime Unit and the APS Crime Unit are continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Services, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Services.

Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area between October 11, 2024, and October 21, 2024, is urged to call the West Parry Sound OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Death Investigation In Central Huron

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Members of the Huron County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently conducting a death investigation in Central Huron.

On July 2, 2024, at approximately 4:15 p.m., emergency services responded to a Cut Line Road address between Parr Line and Tipperary Line, where an individual was located, transported to hospital, and later pronounced deceased.

The investigation is in its early stages and residents in the area should expect to see a large police presence. There is no threat to public safety.

The investigation is continuing by the Huron County OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance of OPP Forensic Identification Services and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner.

Update: Names Of Four Deceased Released

(HARROW, ON) – Investigators have confirmed the identities of the four deceased individuals in an ongoing death investigation in Harrow.

The deceased, all from Harrow, have been identified as:                                                                 

  • Carly WALSH, 41 years old
  • Steven WALSH, 42 years old
  • Madison WALSH, 13 years old
  • Hunter WALSH, eight years old

The deceased individuals were all members of the same family. The circumstances that led to the individuals’ deaths remain under investigation. While the cause of death cannot yet be confirmed, investigators believe there is no imminent threat to public safety, although the OPP reminds all members of the public to be aware of their personal safety at all times.

Essex Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment members began the investigation on June 20, 2024, after receiving a request to check on the well-being of a person at the home, which led to the discovery of the deceased individuals.

The investigation by the Essex County OPP Crime Unit continues under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from OPP Forensic Identification Services, and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
