Assault Bodily Harm Arrest

A 25 year old Harwich Twp. man has been arrested and charged with Assault Bodily Harm, Assault, Possession of Prohibited Weapon (Brass Knuckles).

At approx. 3:00 a.m. on the 11th of May 14, the accused male attended a Chatham address in search of a former girlfriend. Once at the address an altercation took place with a 26 year old male victim who suffered a broken nose, lacerations and contusions. The victim did have to attend PGH for treatment but was released.

The suspect left the scene in a vehicle but was located in Chatham a short time later by CK Police.

The accused was processed and released with conditions and with a future Chatham Criminal Court date.

Robbery

Chatham-Kent Police are investigating the Armed Robbery of a male party who was walking on Edgar Street in Chatham at approx. 11:45 p.m. 9 May 14. Police on patrol were stopped by the 19 year old male victim. The lone suspect in this robbery approached the victim on a bicycle produced a knife and demanded the victim’s wallet. The victim refused and was then threatened with bodily harm. The victim handed over a quantity of cash to the suspect who then fled on the bicycle. There were no injuries.

Suspect is described as Male White, early to mid-20’s in age, riding a mountain style bike, robins blue and white plaid checkered shirt, blue jeans, has a go-tee brownish or red in colour, dark coloured baseball cap

MVC / Impaired Driver

A 19 year old Chatham male has been arrested for Impaired Driving and also charged with Operate a Vehicle with over 80 mgs of alcohol after his 2000 Chevy truck sheared off a hydro pole on Thames Street and Victoria Avenue in Chatham. This event occurred 10 May 14 at approx. 1:00 a.m. After striking the pole the driver attempted to flee the scene in his vehicle but was located on Barth Street where he was arrested. The incident caused a power outage for a period of time in area. Damage estimates are not yet known. The driver was released with a future Chatham court date.

Woman Charged with Domestic Related Offences

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman in connection with a domestic disturbance earlier this month.

On May 2, 2014, a man and woman engaged in a verbal argument at their residence in Wallaceburg. During the argument, the woman threw their internet modem onto the floor causing it to shatter. As the man called 911, the woman struck him in the arm in an attempt to knock the phone out of his hand. The woman left the residence prior to police arrival. The man did not require medical attention.

Yesterday afternoon, police located the woman on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg and she was arrested. The 30-year-old Walpole Island woman has been charged with assault and mischief under $5000. She was released with conditions pending a future court date.

Man Charged with Assault and Uttering Threats

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following an incident in Tilbury last night.

Shortly after 7:00 p.m. police responded to the high school soccer field area in regards to a disturbance. Upon arrival, a 32-year-old Windsor man reported that he had been pushed and threatened by another man.

Through investigation, a 41-year-old Windsor was charged with assault and uttering threats. He was released with conditions pending a future court date.

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man wanted on outstanding warrants for theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000, failing to comply and two counts of breach of probation.

Yesterday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. police located the man on Murray Street in Wallaceburg. The 32-year-old Wallaceburg man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The Chatham-Kent police have charged a woman with driving without insurance.

Yesterday morning around 10:50 a.m. an officer on general patrol observed a black vehicle travelling northbound on Taylor Avenue in Chatham. The officer queried the licence plates and learned that the insurance status was unconfirmed. The officer initiated a traffic stop to further investigate. The female driver produced an insurance card that appeared valid however through investigation the officer learned that the woman’s insurance had been cancelled in February 2014 for non-payment.

The 48-year-old London woman was charged with driving a motor vehicle with no insurance.

Man Arrested from CKPS Wanted List

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man wanted on the CKPS Wanted List.

Just before 5:00 p.m. yesterday, police located the man on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg. He was arrested on outstanding warrants for breach of probation x2 and failing to attend court x3.

The 24-year-old Walpole Island man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man wanted on an outstanding warrant.

On April 24, 2014 the man was charged with obstructing a police officer as he falsely identified himself during an arrest. The man was released from custody with conditions pending a future court. One of the conditions stated that the man was to reside at a specific address on Pine Street in Chatham.

On April 30, 2014 police learned that the man was not residing at that address. Police attempted to locate the man, however when unsuccessful, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Shortly after 6:00 p.m. last night, the 18-year-old man of no fixed address turned himself in to police headquarters. He has been charged with failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Criminal Harassment

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a domestic related incident.

In March 2014, the man and his common-law girlfriend ended their relationship. Since then the man has been attempting to communicate with the woman through unwanted text messages, emails and telephone calls. The woman has repeatedly asked the man to stop communicating with her.

Last night, the 48-year-old Dresden man was arrested and charged with criminal harassment. He was released with conditions pending a future court date.

Man Charged with Theft

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a shoplifting incident in Chatham yesterday.

Around 4:00 p.m. police responded to the Real Canadian Superstore on St. Clair Street in regards to a shoplifting complaint. The man entered the store and was observed placing various items in grocery bags. The man exited the store without making an attempt to pay for the merchandise valued at $550.

The 34-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
