The Chatham-Kent police have charged a man with impaired driving last night in Ridgetown.
Shortly after 8:00 p.m. police received information of an erratic driver in the area of Goodal Drive. Officers located the man who struck a street sign and then got his Ford Ranger pick-up truck stuck in a field. Through investigation, the officer believed that the driver was operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested. The driver was transported to police headquarters for further breath tests where he registered over three times the legal limit.
The 32-year-old Ridgetown man has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. When sober, he will be released pending a future court date.
