One Arrested Following Break & Enters

(ESSA, ON) – As a result of an ongoing police investigation, members of the Nottawasaga Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), ) with assistance from the Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) and the Emergency Response Team (ERT) have made an arrest after several break and enters occurred at businesses and residences in Angus.

On December 30, 2024, police received a call for a break and enter at a local business in Angus. The two suspects broke the front door glass, stole items and fled the scene. 

In the early morning of December 31, 2024, shortly before 4:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to a break and enter in progress at the Ultramar gas station and Uplift Cannabis store located at 165 Mill Street, in the Township of Essa. Suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the two suspects also attended several other businesses smashing front doors making entry into each establishment

On December 31 shortly before midnight, officers attended for another break in Angus at Angus Variety located at 9 Margaret Street, in the Township of Essa. Where Suspects had fled the scene prior to police arrival. Video footage was obtained from several businesses showing descriptions of two suspects.

On January 6th, 2025, Police responded to several break and enters on Brentwood Road where power tools and other items were stolen from the residences sheds.

As a result, on January 9, 2025, shortly before1:00 p.m. officers arrested and charged Keith JAMES also known as Keith LEDYIT 49-years-old at 62 Brentwood Road with the following:

  • Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence – 8 counts
  • Obstruct Police
  • Breach of Probation – 9 counts

The accused has been held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Bradford on January 10, 2025, to answer to the charges.

2 Arrested After Hydro Break In

Two males are facing charges after breaking into a Hydro One field in Oshawa.

On Monday, December 30, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m., members of East Division responded to a break-and-enter at the Hydro One field, located at 2745 Townline Road.  Two males cut numerous locks and entered several buildings located on a Hydro One field, in an attempt to steal supplies.  Officers located both suspects on the property and took them into custody without incident.

David MARTIN, age 28 from Oshawa is charged with: Break-and-Enter, Mischief Under $5000, Attempt Theft Under $5000, and Possess Break-In Instruments.

Stefan MICELI, age 44 from Oshawa is charged with: Break-and-Enter, Mischief Under $5000, Attempt Theft Under $5000, and Possess Break-In Instruments.

Both males were released on an Undertaking.

Repeat Offenders Arrested For Break & Enter

Two males are in custody after breaking into a residence in Whitby.

On Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at approximately 5:55 a.m., members of Central West Division responded to a break-and-enter at a residence in the area of Princess Street and Cassels Road East.  Two males used a stolen garage door remote to access the garage of a residence. Officers arrived on scene and took one male into custody without incident.  The second male fled the area in a grey SUV.

Officers searched the area and later located the suspect vehicle.  A traffic stop was initiated and the second suspect was taken into custody without incident. 

Zachary LINTNER, age 33 from Courtice is charged with: Break-and-Enter, Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, Fail to Comply with Release Order, and Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2.

Joseph DAVRIEUX, age 55 from Clarington is charged with: Break-and-Enter, Dangerous Operation, Flight from Police, Operate a Conveyance While Prohibited, and Fail to Comply with Release Order x2.

They were both held for a bail hearing.

2 Teens Arrested Following Break & Enter

LONDON, ON (December 30, 2024) – Two teenaged boys were arrested after a business was broken into over the weekend.

On Saturday, December 28, 2024, at approximately 1 a.m., a citizen heard the sound of glass breaking at a business in the 900-block of Wellington Road. The citizen observed a young male flee from the business and contacted police. A description was provided to officers.

Video surveillance was obtained from the involved business.

Three suspects were located and arrested a short time later. A search yielded stolen property belonging to the business.

As a result of the investigation, one of the arrested youths was released unconditionally, while the other two were transported to the London Police Headquarters Detention Unit.

The business sustained approximately $1500 in damages.

Two 13-year-old males, who cannot be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, have been charged with a number of offences.

Youth # 1 has been charged with:

  • Break & enter with intent;
  • Fail to comply with undertaking; and
  • Fail to comply with release order.

Youth # 2 has been charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.

Both of the youths have upcoming court dates in relation to the charges.

4 Arrested For Break & Enters

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged four individuals in relation to a series of break and enters in Muskoka.

On December 27, 2024, at 4:45 a.m. Bracebridge OPP officers were dispatched to a break and enter at a building centre located on Muskoka Road 169 in Gravenhurst. Suspects broke in and with efficiency, stole approximately $10,000.00 worth of tools and left in a large white panel van.

On December 30, 2024, at 1:40 a.m. a Bracebridge OPP officer was conducting proactive patrols on Wellington Street in the town of Bracebridge and recognized an eastbound vehicle matching the description of the one used in the above incident. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the driver failed to stop as directed, continuing onto Highway 11 South. With the assistance of additional officers, including several officers from Orillia detachment, the vehicle was successfully stopped on Highway 11 South near Highway 12 in Orillia and the four occupants were taken into custody.

Simultaneously, at 1:45 a.m. Bracebridge OPP officers received a call for service from a building centre located on Wellington Street in Bracebridge, reporting that there had been a break and enter, and a significant quantity of tools had been stolen.

Male Charged For Multiple Break & Enters

Waterloo Region, Ontario  Waterloo Regional have charged a male in connection to multiple commercial break-and-enters.

Between December 9 and 10, 2024, a male broke into four businesses in Waterloo Region, one on Sydney Street in Kitchener and three in Cambridge, on Eagle Street, Hespeler Road and Holiday Inn Drive.

In each of the break-ins, a rock was used to smash a glass door and gain entry, and property and cash were stolen.

WRPS’ Break, Enter, and Vehicle Theft Team subsequently identified the male and determined he had been arrested in Guelph on December 11, 2024, after breaking into a business.

As a result of the investigation, Waterloo Regional Police have charged a 37-year-old male with four counts of break and enter – commit theft.

2 Arrested Following Break & Enter

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – Two individuals are facing charges after they were located inside a residence from which they were recently trespassed.

On December 21, 2024, the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were asked to check on a vacant residence on Dawson Street in South Bruce Peninsula to remove any individuals inside as no one is authorized to be inside. The OPP attended and removed six individuals from the residence.

On December 22, 2024, at 4:50 p.m., officers were conducting a property check on the same Dawson Street residence. Two individuals who were previously trespassed were located inside.  

Matthew Nickels, 22-years-old of no fixed address was charged with the following:

·      Break, enter a place – to commit indictable offence

The accused was held pending a bail hearing.

Wesley Charlton, 43-years-old of Georgian Bluffs was charged with the following:

  • Break, enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence

The accused party is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on January 30, 2025.

Break & Enter – Clayton ARCH & Kayla SANDY

(MIDLAND, ON) –  Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call at approximately 10:24 a.m. of a possible break and enter reported at 10:21 a.m. to the apartments above a King Street retail store.

Upon arrival of officers, entry was made to the unsecured apartment and two lethargic and passed out individuals were located in the apartment.

The individuals known to police were arrested and transported to detachment for processing.

Charged criminally is Clayton ARCH 42 years of Midland with the following offences.

  • Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Theft Under $5,000 from a Motor Vehicle

Also charged criminally is Kayla SANDY 28 years of no fixed address Midland with the following offences.

  • Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Fentanyl

Both accused persons were released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on January 23, 2024.

Braeden BEAUDOIN – Break & Enter, Theft, Etc.

(MIDLAND, ON) –  Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a burglary alarm within minutes at the Elegant Gourmet business on King Street Midland as it became the victim of a break and enter at approximately 5:33 a.m. December 19, 2024.

Upon arrival of officers, a suspect was located within the business who had lacerated a hand in the process of entering the business. The arrested suspect was triaged at the scene by Simcoe County Paramedic Services and transported to Detachment for processing.

Charged criminally is Braeden BEAUDOIN 25 years of no fixed address Orillia with the following offences.

  • Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Possession Break In Instruments
  • Theft Under $5000
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on January 30, 2025

Dwayne LANKTREE – Break & Enter, Meth

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – Police arrested and charged one person with break and enter offences after conducting a traffic stop.

On December 19, 2024, at approximately 4:00 a.m., members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol, and conducted a traffic stop with a parked vehicle on Highway 17, West Nipissing.

The vehicle was parked near a storage area, where police obtained evidence of a break and enter that occurred that evening.

As a result of the investigation, Dwayne LANKTREE, 38 years-of-age, from West Nipissing was arrested and charged with:

  • Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence – three counts
  • Mischief under $ 5,000 – three counts
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – Methamphetamine

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on February 6, 2025, in North Bay.

RICHARDSON Arrested After Numerous Break And Enters

A 21-year-old male has been arrested and charged for multiple break-and-enters in Bowmanville.

On Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at approximately 1:00 a.m., members of East Division responded to the area of King Street East and Liberty Street South for an alarm call at a business. Officers arrived on scene and located a business that had been broken into.

At approximately 1:45 a.m., members received another call for an alarm at a business less than a kilometre away. Officers arrived on scene and located the suspect inside the business. The suspect attempted to flee on foot and was quickly arrested.

An additional business was located within the vicinity that had also been broken into.

Jeremy RICHARDSON, age 21, of Clarington, is charged with: Break and Enter Non-Dwelling with Intent x3; Possess Property OBC Under $5000 x2; Possess Break-In Instruments and FTC with Release Order x3.

 He was held for a bail hearing.

Richardson at the time of his arrest was out on a release for similar charges.

Break & Enter – Dustin HUBBARD & Bridget LIVINGSTON Arrested

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – Middlesex County OPP investigating a break and enter to a property in North Middlesex. 

On December 13, 2024, at 12:11 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to a property on Creamery Road in North Middlesex for the report of a break and enter in progress.

As officers arrived on scene two individuals were observed fleeing the area on foot.

Members of the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Canine located and arrested two individuals not far from the scene.

The pair were operating a vehicle which had become stuck. The vehicle was confirmed to be stolen.

As a result, Dustin HUBBARD, a 33-year-old of Sarnia, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada

The accused was held for bail.

As a result, Bridget LIVINGSTON, a 33-year-old of West Perth, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on January 29, 2025, to speak to the charges.

Jamie Paul DUBE – Break & Enter, Theft, Etc.

(MIDLAND,ON) – A sharp eyed officer from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment made an arrest solving an overnight break and enter to a popular Midland restaurant.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 2:39 a.m. December 11, 2024 to a report of an entry alarm at Mom’s Restaurant on Pillsbury Drive, Midland. Although the officers attended the scene promptly the suspect had fled the scene after smashing the front glass entry door. Video surveillance provided the officers with suspect descriptors and at 9:30 a.m. December 11, 2024 an OPP officer patrolling on William Street observed an individual matching the suspect descriptors. When the officer approached, a foot pursuit ensued resulting in an arrest of the suspect.

Charged in connection to this investigation is Jamie Paul DUBE 43 years of Tay Township with the following criminal code offences.

  • Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Theft Under $5000
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada
  • Resist Peace Officer

The accused remains custody awaiting a bail hearing and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  at a later date.

2 Arrested Attempting To Flee Police

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two people after they attempted to flee from police.

On December 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. a Bracebridge OPP officer was conducting patrols in the town of Bracebridge in the area of Taylor Road and Depot Drive and observed a highway traffic act offense. While positioning himself to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle in question fled the area at a high rate of speed onto Highway 11 South. Officers were able to monitor the vehicles whereabouts as it exited and then re-entered Highway 11 South and ultimately turned onto Pinedale Road in Gravenhurst where officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle failed to stop and in the interest of public safety in the busy residential neighbourhood, officers disengaged. Members of the public, however, were paying close attention and provided information to police about the vehicle’s direction of travel, and ultimately a resident with a keen eye reported that the suspicious vehicle was in his neighbourhood.

Officers attended and located the vehicle in a driveway and upon approach, the vehicle attempted to flee again, narrowing missing the police cruiser and became lodged in a snowbank. Apparently undeterred, the driver exited his car and fled on foot as officers gained control of the female passenger.

The OPP K-9 unit and the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) attended quickly and commenced a search and shortly after 12:30 p.m. the suspect was apprehended.

Police have charged 29-year-old Eric DAOUST of Espanola, ON with the following:

  • Flight from Peace Officer CC 320.17
  • Operation while Prohibited under the Criminal Code CC 320.18(1)(a) X 2
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order CC 145(5)(a) X 3

  • Possession of Break In Instruments CC 351(1)
  • Theft Over $5000 CC 334(b)
  • Possession of Schedule I (Methamphetamine) CDSA 4(1)

Police have also charged 20-year-old Sage SAGASSIGE of Sables-Spanish Rivers Twp, ON with:

  • Possession of Break In Instruments CC 351(1)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime CC 355(b) X 2
  • Possession of Schedule I (Methamphetamine) CDSA 4(1)

Both accused parties have been held in custody for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice on Saturday, December 7, 2024 to answer to their charges.

Joseph DEWISPELAERE – Break & Enter, Etc.

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – One person has been arrested and charged following a break and enter at a residence in the early morning hours yesterday, and one is still outstanding.

On November 27, 2024, just after 3:00 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break and enter in progress on Line 87, in the Municipality of North Perth. Police arrived moments later, and one person was arrested at the scene, and another person fled on foot. A search was conducted with the assistance of the West Region OPP Canine Unit and the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), but the second person involved was not located.

Joseph DEWISPELAERE, 54, of North Perth, has been charged with:

–      Break, Enter a place – Commit indictable offence

–      Trespassing at Night

–      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charges on January 13, 2025.
