Assault

Barrie Police were called to a downtown intersection for a heavily intoxicated female.

Police located the female and transported her to Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment.

While at the hospital, the female became argumentative with nursing staff and began to spit on the attending nurse.

The female was restrained and released from the hospital.

The 18 year old female was arrested for assault, taken to the Barrie Police Service to sober up. and will awake to a charge of Assault on the attending nurse.

Domestic assault

Date: Thursday, May 1, 2014 – 9:00pm
Barrie Police were called to a John St apartment for a domestic dispute between a couple.

Police were told the pair began to argue when the female went to the kitchen and picked up a large knife.

She returned and threw the knife at the male, striking his hand and causing a deep cut.

Police located the 40 year old female and arrested her for assault with a weapon.

She was transported to the Barrie Police Service for a bail hearing.

The male suffered a small wound to his hand and was treated at the Royal Victoria Hospital and released.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this incident.

Aggressive Youth Arrested

Date: Tuesday, April 29, 2014 – 3:00pm
On April 29th Barrie Police were called to a south end residence to speak with the parents of a 16 year old youth.

The parents report their son had punched numerous holes in the walls of the family home and was becoming extremely aggressive with family members.

Barrie Police attended but the youth ran away prior to Police arrival.

On the morning of April 30th Police were called back to the residence as the parents had found their son asleep in his bed.

The youth was arrested and charged with 4 counts of mischief and two counts of breaching his probation and taken to the Barrie Court house for a bail hearing.
