2 Break & Enters At Same Place

(PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are looking for suspects after two break and enter at the same location in West Perth.

On November 20 2021, the Perth County OPP received a report of two break and enters that had occurred on November 15 and November 17, at a rural property on Perth Road 180, in the Municipality of West Perth.

Suspect(s) entered a building on the property and stole approximately $5000 worth of property, including a trailer and chainsaws.

This is not the only time that this location has experienced a break and enter. The public is reminded to report any suspicious activity immediately, and consider installing security features, such as increased lighting, cameras, or alarms.

BOLO Stolen Mobility Scooter

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is hopeful to get some tips to help solve a recent theft case that occurred in Port Albert. 

Sometime between 9:00 a.m. on November 28, 2021 and 9:00 a.m. on November 29, 2021 someone stole an outdoor mobility scooter and trailer from a residence located on Ashfield Street in Port Albert. 

Officers later located the stolen trailer abandoned on River Mill Line, however, the scooter is still outstanding. The stolen scooter is described as a red, 2013 Pride Wrangler outdoor mobility scooter valued at $7,500.

66 Year Old Arrested In Exeter

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a resident of Exeter with Operation While Impaired following a traffic complaint that was investigated by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) earlier this week.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021 Huron OPP officers received a call about a pickup truck that was travelling northbound on London Road from Lucan in an erratic manner. Shortly after a Huron OPP officer located the suspect vehicle at the south end of Exeter and the vehicle was followed to a residence on John Street whereupon the vehicle pulled into a driveway. 

Upon speaking with the driver officers noted the driver had consumed some alcohol and was displaying signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were provided to the qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both samples were found to be above the legal limit. 

Robert ROSS, 66 years of age, from Exeter been charged with Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus. 

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for February 7, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Fatal Collision Update – Deceased Identified

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a fatal collision that took place yesterday in the hamlet of Poole. 

At approximately 6:39 p.m. on November 30, 2021, Perth County OPP, Perth County Paramedic Services and Perth East Fire Department responded to Perth Road 121 in the hamlet of Poole for a crash involving a pedestrian that was struck by a southbound pickup truck.

The involved pedestrian was transported from the scene by ambulance to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. 

The deceased has since been identified as Mary JANTZI, 67 years of age, from Perth East. 

Members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team attended the scene to assist with the collision investigation. 

A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place today.

One Airlifted Following Collision

(CULROSS TWP, ON) – On November 29, 2021 at 8:39 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single vehicle collision along Concession 2 in Culross Township. Officers responded with members of South Bruce Fire Rescue – Teeswater Station and Huron County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to find a pick-up truck left the roadway and struck a tree before coming to rest in the ditch.

The lone occupant of the vehicle was taken to a local hospital, then airlifted to a London hospital for treatment of serious, non-life threatening, injuries.

Concession 2 was closed between Bruce County Road 4 and Side road 5a for the protection of emergency responders. It has since re-opened to traffic.

The investigation is in its early stages. Updates will be shared as they become available.

Transport Trucks Collide

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a crash between two transport trucks that has taken place north of Wartburg. 

At approximately 11:35 a.m. Perth East Fire Department and Perth County OPP officers responded to a collision involving two transport trucks located at the intersection of Perth Line 44 and Perth Road 135.

One of the transport drivers was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

This intersection is expected to be closed for an extended period of time for necessary repairs and cleanup.

Line 44 is currently closed between Perth Road 130 and Perth Road 140.

Violent Home Invasion In Seaforth – PARKER, KENNEDY & ELLIOTT Arrested

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three Hensall residents following a home invasion that took place in Seaforth this past weekend.

On Saturday, November 27, 2021 at approximately 7:15 p.m. an adult victim attended the OPP office in Seaforth to report a home invasion that had just taken place at a residence located on Main Street in Seaforth. 

The subsequent investigation revealed three individuals attended the victim’s residence, forced their way inside and proceeded to assault the victim and a friend. Further, the accused stole a quantity of cash and fled the residence. 

Investigators were able to identify the accused and they were all arrested and taken into custody.   

Hensall residents Brett PARKER, 30 years of age; Luke KENNEDY, 30 years of age and Jessica ELLIOTT 25 years of age are all facing the following charges:

·        Break, Enter Dwelling House – Commit Indictable Offence

·        Unlawfully in Dwelling House

·        Robbery with Violence

·        Forcible Confinement

·        Assault Causing Bodily Harm

·        Assault Cause Bodily Harm – Choke

·        Overcome Resistance by Attempting to Choke Another Person

All three accused remain in custody with upcoming court dates.

Fatal Pedestrian Collision

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a collision involving a pedestrian that has resulted in a fatality.

At approximately 6:39 p.m. this evening, Perth County OPP, Perth County Paramedic Services and Perth East Fire Department responded to Perth Road 121 in the hamlet of Poole for a crash involving a pedestrian that was struck by a pickup truck.

The involved pedestrian was transported from the scene by ambulance to a local hospital where they were later pronounced deceased. 

The identity of the deceased is being withheld until next-of-kin notification is completed.

Members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team remain on scene assisting with the collision investigation.

Perth Road 121 remains closed between Line 61 and Perth Road 119. Please utilize an alternate route to avoid delays.

Fatal Collision Near Mitchell – Deceased Identified

(WEST PERTH, ON) – Shortly after 7:00 a.m. on November 30, 2021, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Perth County Detachment, West Perth Fire Department and Perth County Paramedic Services responded to a serious two-vehicle collision on Perth Line 20, southeast of Mitchell.

The preliminary investigation has determined a pickup truck and hatchback collided head-on.

The driver of the hatchback was pronounced deceased at the scene. The deceased has since been identified as Kyle FORD, 23 years of age, from Hensall.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 20-year-old from Stratford sustained minor injuries.

Members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team attended the scene to assist with the collision investigation.

The roadway is now open for travel.

Fatal Fire Update – Deceased Identified

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On November 27, 2021, at approximately 5 a.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Grey County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and the Inter Township Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire on Girl Guide Road in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

One individual was removed from the residence and pronounced deceased on scene. They have been identified as Patricia WATERS, 74 years-of-age, from Georgian Bluffs.

The scene has since been released and the investigation remains ongoing.

Ripley Drug Bust

(RIPLEY, ON) – On November 28, 2021 at 7:41 p.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol stopped a vehicle along Melville Lane in Ripley. The driver was found to be in possession of drugs.

Upon further investigation, the officer confirmed that the driver had an outstanding warrant for their arrest.

Angela DRUMMOND, 59-years-old, of Huron-Kinloss Township was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possess the Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on January 19, 2022 to answer to the charges.

5 Vehicle Collision – One Impaired Charge

(CARRICK TWP, ON) – On November 26, 2021 at 7:26 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a multi-vehicle collision along Highway 9 in Carrick Township. Officers responded with members of the Mildmay-Carrick Fire Department and Bruce County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to find 5 vehicles involved.

One of the involved drivers was found to have been drinking alcohol.

Tyler O’GORMAN, 35-years-old, from the Municipality of Brockton was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on January 12, 2022 to answer to the charges.

Two people were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.

Clinton Hit & Run – 16 Year Old Sent To Hospital – SNELL Arrested

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a collision involving a pedestrian that was struck and injured today in Clinton.

At approximately 11:42 a.m. Huron County OPP officers and paramedics from Huron County Paramedic Services responded to an automobile and pedestrian collision located on Ontario Street (Highway 8) near Smith Street North in Clinton. Upon arrival first responders located an injured pedestrian on the roadway that had been struck by an eastbound car. 

The injured pedestrian, a 16-year-old, from Huron East was transported from the scene to a hospital where he is currently receiving care for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the car initially failed to remain at the scene of the collision however she later attended the Huron OPP Detachment where she was arrested and charged.

Kaylee SNELL, 19 years of age, from Central Huron has been charged with:

·        Fail to Stop at Accident Resulting in Bodily Harm

·        Fail to Remain

·        Driving While Under Suspension

·        Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for February 7, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice.

Fatal House Fire In Meaford

(MEAFORD, ON) – On November 27, 2021, at approximately 10:50 p.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Grey County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the Inter Township Fire Department and the Chatsworth Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire on the 10th concession in the Municipality of Meaford.

Emergency crews arrived on scene and began battling a fully engulfed residential fire. One individual was removed from the residence and pronounced deceased on scene. Their identity is being withheld pending a next of kin notification.

Emergency crews remain on scene, and the investigation is continuing with the assistance of the OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), in partnership with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario (OCCO) and the Ontario Fire Marshal (OFM).

Weapons Bust In Mitchell – MEAD & BOLT

(WEST PERTH, ON) – Two people were charged following a traffic stop in the Municipality of West Perth last week.

On November 18 2021, just before 4:30 p.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on general patrol on St. David Street, Mitchell, observed a person violating their bail conditions.

A traffic stop was conducted, and a firearm and crossbow were observed in the vehicle. Two occupants of the vehicle were prohibited from possessing any firearms, and were arrested.

Ryan MEAD, 33, of no fixed address, has been charged with:

–       Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (two counts)

–       Failure to Comply with Undertaking (two counts)

Also, Chad BOLT, 48, of West Perth, has been charged with:

–       Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (two counts)

The accused parties were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
