Search Continues For Missing Child

(WEST PERTH, ON) – Emergency service personnel are continuing search efforts in the Municipality of West Perth for a missing child.

On March 06, 2022, just before 10:30 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), West Perth Fire Department, and Perth County Paramedic Services responded to a report of a missing 10-year-old girl who was last seen at the river outside of Mitchell. Currently, the Stratford, St. Marys, and Huron Area Search and Rescue Swift Water Rescue teams, along with the OPP West Region Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, Underwater Search and Rescue, and Aviation searched for the child.

Again today, there have been deteriorating conditions along the water edges, and the public is still asked to stay away from the fast moving water. While a number of citizens have offered to assist in the search, the area of the river is not safe, and could hinder the rescue efforts.

Murray KERR Arrested After Hunting Incident


(HURON EAST, ON) – 
Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Huron East resident with Uttering Threats following an incident that took place recently in Huron East between two hunters.

On February 21, 2022 at approximately 11:24 a.m., Huron County OPP officers were contacted by a hunter that was out hunting coyotes on Beechwood Line. The hunter reported he had an interaction with another hunter that had just threatened him and his hunting dogs. 

Shortly thereafter officers were able to locate and arrest the accused without incident. 

Murray KERR, 76 years of age from Huron East has been charged with Uttering Threats to Cause Death and Uttering Threats – Danger or Injure an Animal. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 4, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Police Fear That Cary Antony MARTIN Has More Victims

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – On March 2, 2022, officers with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Brant County Detachment Crime Unit charged a Toronto resident in connection with a fraud investigation.

A Brant County resident contacted police after he provided the suspect $50,000 to invest on their behalf and later learned the money was not invested.

Police have charged Cary Antony MARTIN, 30-years-of-age from Toronto with the following offences:

  • Fraud Over $5000 and
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000- in Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford at a later date.

Driver Falls Asleep – Two Sent to Hospital

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – One person was charged after a collision in North Perth resulted in non-life-threatening injuries.

On February 28, 2022, at approximately 6:30 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two vehicle collision on Line 91, just west of Perth Road 140, in the Municipality of North Perth. The investigation indicated that one driver had fallen asleep while driving.

Two people were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Aswin GOPINATH SHAIJA, 24, of Waterloo, has been charged with:

–       Careless Driving

The accused was issued a Provincial Offences Notice for the offence.

Stacy SHARPIN – Theft

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A number of people have been charged with shoplifting lately, including another who was arrested and charged in Listowel last weekend.

The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a business on Mitchell Road South, Listowel on February 27, 2022, just before 5:00 p.m., after a person was witnessed shoplifting by store staff. The suspect was arrested at the scene.

Stacy SHARPIN, 50, of Howick Township, has been charged with:

–       Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer

38 Year Old Arrested For Theft

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – One person has been charged for theft after they were caught shoplifting at a local business.

The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to the business on Wallace Avenue North, Listowel on February 27, 2022, just after 12:00 p.m., after a person was witnessed shoplifting.

Amanda NEVES, 38, of Centre Wellington Township, has been charged with:

–       Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

3 Deceased In Collision – Names Released

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have identified the three individual who perished in a motor vehicle collision on Wellington Road 109 on March 2, 2022. The deceased are Gurinder Jeet Singh LIDDER, 31-years-old of Mono, Karanpreet Singh GILL, 22-years-old of Barrie and Sunny KHURANA, 24-years-old of Brantford. The cause is still under investigation.

On March 2, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m. Wellington County OPP responded to a serious collision on Wellington Road 109 near Sideroad 12, west of the village of Arthur. Initial reports indicated that a passenger vehicle and a commercial motor vehicle had collided and that there were serious injuries.

OPP, Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services and Mapleton Fire/Rescue responded to the collision that involved a work van and a semi-tractor trailer. Two occupants were pronounced dead at scene and two were rushed to a local hospital. Shortly thereafter, one of the transported patients succumbed to their injuries and died at hospital.

The road between Arthur and Teviotdale was closed through the night for OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team investigators.

HUNTER Arrested Again – Methamphetamine, Breach, etc.

(HOWICK, ON) – A Wingham resident is facing numerous charges following an incident that took place this weekend east of Fordwich. 

On Sunday, February 27, 2022 at 6:50 p.m., Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to Harriston Road east of Fordwich to investigate a roll over crash. Prior to arrival police learned the driver of the crashed pickup truck failed to remain at the scene and took off on foot.

Shortly after when police arrived officers followed the tracks in the snow and were able to locate the suspect hiding out in a nearby bush. 

The subsequent investigation revealed the accused was in possession of suspected methamphetamine, was driving a stolen vehicle, was prohibited from driving and was currently serving a probation sentence.

Shannon HUNTER, 39 years of age from Wingham has been charged with the following criminal charges:

  • Break, Enter a Place with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Operation While Prohibited – Two Counts
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order

The accused remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for March 3, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Hit & Run Drunk Driver Arrested

(HURON EAST, ON) – A South Huron resident is facing Impaired Operation charges following a rear-end crash that took place this past weekend in Kippen. 

On Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 6:42 p.m., Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a two-vehicle crash located at the intersection of Kippen Road and London Road. Prior to arriving on scene officers learned one of the involved drivers failed to remain at the scene of the crash after he collided with the victim’s pickup truck.

Soon after police were able to locate the suspect vehicle in Dashwood. A traffic stop was initiated and upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver was displaying several signs of impairment. As a result the driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be above the legal limit. 

Joel BENDIG, 40 years of age from South Huron has been charged with the following offences:

·        Operation While Impaired

·        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus

·        Fail to Remain

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for March 28, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Ashley HUDSON Arrested Again

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Huron County resident with shoplifting following a recent investigation.

On February 24, 2022 Huron County OPP officers received a call from a business located on Huron Road in Goderich about a shoplifting incident. Investigators learned the suspect left the business with a jacket valued at $200 and made no attempt to pay for the item. 

Police reviewed the store video surveillance and were quickly able to identify the involved suspect. On Sunday, February 27, 2022 Huron OPP located and arrested the suspect in Goderich.

Ashley HUDSON, 31 years of age, of no fixed address has been charged with Theft Under $5,000 and three counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 25, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Two Pedestrians Injured In Collision

(WEST PERTH, ON) – Two people were taken to hospital with serious injuries after a collision in West Perth.

On February 25, 2022, just before 7:00 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), West Perth Fire Department, and Perth County Paramedic Services responded to a motor vehicle collision involving pedestrians.

The preliminary investigation indicates two pedestrians were crossing Huron Road, in the area of Napier Street, when they were struck by a vehicle. Both were transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

No charges were laid.

The Perth County OPP is asking anyone who may own a dash camera, who was travelling in the area around the time of the collision, to please contact police.

Middlesex OPP Weekend Report

(LONDON, ON) – Vehicle in Ditch leads to Impaired Charge

On February 27, 2022 at 5:54 p.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to Highway 402 eastbound, City of London, after receiving multiple reports of a possible impaired driver. As police were on-route to the area, members of the public confirmed the vehicle had struck multiple vehicles prior to coming to a stop in the ditch, as it approached Highway 401.

There were no injuries reported.

As a result, Christopher RAHIM a 33-year-old of Kitchener, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol, section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available, section 42(1)(b) of the Liquor Licence and Control Act

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on April 7, 2022 to speak to the charges.

(LUCAN BIDDULPH TWP, ON) – Traffic Stop leads to Impaired Charge

On February 25, 2022 at 9:32 p.m., a member of the Middlesex County OPP performed a traffic stop on a vehicle, on Elginfield Road, Lucan Biddulph Township, for speeding. 

An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment where further tests were administered.

As a result, Carl KITCHENER, a 36-year-old of London, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit, section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on March 29, 2022 to speak to the charges.

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Public Complaints lead to Impaired Charge

On February 25, 2022 at 1:02 p.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to a business plaza at 10166 Glendon Drive, Middlesex Centre, after receiving multiple complaints from members of the public for the report of an unresponsive individual in a vehicle.

An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment where further tests were administered.

As a result, James MacDONALD, a 37-year-old of Forest, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero, section 44.1(3) of the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on April 6, 2022 to speak to the charges.

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Cruiser Struck While Performing Traffic Stop

On February 25, 2022 at 7:26 a.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were on route to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 401 westbound, Thames Centre, when an officer operating a fully marked cruiser on the snow covered roads, was passed by a speeding motor vehicle.

As the officer attempted to perform a traffic stop the cruiser was struck by the suspect vehicle.

Damage to both vehicles was minor and there were no injuries.

As a result, Laura-Jean WRIGHT, a 74-year-old of no fixed address, has been charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation, section 320.13(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on April 28, 2022 to speak to the charges.

26 Year Old Caught Going 115 in a 60

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Kitchener driver after they were speeding more than 55km/h over the limit in a posted school zone in the Municipality of North Perth.

On February 23, 2022 just after 3:30 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on Perth Line 72, in the School Zone in Donegal after it was found to be travelling in excess of 115km/h in a 60km/h limit zone.

Dylan DUDULETZ, 26, of Kitchener, has been charged with:

–       Race motor vehicle – Excessive Speed

–       Driver fail to surrender license

A 30-day-driving suspension and fourteen day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges

Repeat Offenders Arrested Again – LEACHMNAN & CORR

(TEESWATER, ON) – On February 27, 2022 at 2:46 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a suspicious person along James Street east in Teeswater. Officers responded and located two people in the area of the call.

They initially failed to cooperate with police, but they were both taken into custody without incident. 

James LEACHMAN, 28-years-old, of North Huron Township was charged with:

  • Personation
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order
  • Use altered license plate
  • Operate a vehicle with no insurance

The accused was held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing scheduled for February 27, 2022.

Catherine CORR, 32-years-old, of North Huron Township was charged with:

  • Personation
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order
  • Fail to comply with Undertaking

The accused was held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing scheduled for February 27, 2022.

(CHESLEY, ON) – On February 27, 2022 at 10:02 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft report from a residence along 5th Avenue south in Chesley. Sometime between 9:00 p.m. on February 26, 2022 and 10:00 a.m. on February 27, 2022, a Black Hyundai Elantra license plate CTKR 963 was taken. The vehicle identification number is on file with police.
