Impaired Driver From Meaford Arrested

(GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) On May 4, 2022 at 3:56 a.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 10 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

Police spoke to the driver and determined that they had been consuming alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to a local OPP detachment where further testing was administered. There were no injuries reported.

The Grey Bruce OPP have charged Dylan CANN, 30 years-of-age from the Township of Meaford with the following offences:

·        Operation while impaired

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.

Drunk Driver Arrested Near Wingham – John MACGREGOR

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a traffic stop conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) early this morning. 

This morning at approximately 1:42 a.m. (05May) a Huron County OPP officer stopped a pickup truck south of Wingham after he noticed it matched the description of a vehicle that was seen earlier by a citizen travelling in an erratic manner.     

Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver had consumed some alcohol. As a result, the driver completed a roadside screening test and registered a “Fail”.   

Consequently, the driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests.  Two samples of breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be above the legal limit. 

John MACGREGOR, 28 years of age from South Huron has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 20, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Repeat Offender Arrested In Clinton – Michael SHELLEY

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A recent traffic in stop in Clinton for a vehicle that wasn’t displaying a front licence plate resulted in a whole lot more than a ticket for a London resident. 

Just before 10:00 p.m. on April 14, 2022, a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a car parked without a front licence plate attached to the vehicle. The driver exited onto Albert Street and a traffic stop was initiated. As soon as the officer activated his emergency lights and siren the driver sped up and fled from the officer. 

The driver drove dangerously, through a traffic signal, over a sidewalk and over a median. Soon after driving over the median the vehicle broke down and officers were able to locate and arrest the driver. 

Upon arrest a search was completed and officers found suspected methamphetamine, break-in tools, brass knuckles, stolen identification and a pellet gun. Further checks on the driver revealed he was failing to comply with numerous conditions of his probation order.

Michael SHELLEY, 35 years of age from London has been charged with Flight from Police Officer, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Operation While Prohibited, Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Break & Enter Instruments, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – 6 counts, Fail to Comply with Probation Order – 3 counts, and Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to a Probation Order – 5 counts as well as three Highway Traffic Act offences. 

The accused remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 18, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Collision Sends One To Hospital

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – One person was charged after a collision in Perth County that caused non-life threatening injuries.

On April 27, 2022, just after 7:00 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Perth County Paramedic Services responded to a two vehicle collision on Hwy 7-19 in the Township of Perth South. The investigation indicated that a vehicle was trying to make a turn, when it was rear ended by another vehicle. One person was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Joel MACDONALD, 25, of Stratford, has been charged with:

–      Careless driving

The accused was issued a Provincial Notice for the offence.

Fatal Collision

(GREENOCK TWP, ON) – On April 30, 2022 at 4:37 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single motor vehicle collision along Concession 2 in Greenock Township.

Officers responded with members of the Walkerton Fire Department and Bruce County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to find that a pick-up truck had left the roadway and come to rest in the Teeswater River.

Garrett RICKERT, 23-years-old, of Waterloo Region, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team are assisting the South Bruce OPP with this investigation.

Concession 2 was closed near the collision scene for the protection of emergency responders. It has since re-opened to traffic.

22 Year Old From Wingham Caught Going 170 in a 90

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Wingham area resident with Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed following a traffic stop that took place last night just east of Wingham. 

On Monday, May 2, 2022, at approximately 9:04 p.m. a Huron OPP officer was patrolling on Amberley Road when he observed a sport utility vehicle travelling eastbound at an extremely high rate of speed. A RADAR device was utilized, and a speed measurement confirmed the vehicle was travelling more than 170 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone.  

A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver was subsequently charged. Spencer REINHARDT, 22 years of age from Wingham has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed. 

An immediate 30-day drivers licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment was also served on the driver.

Stolen Trailer Recovered – Colleen BAILLIE Arrested

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one person after recovering a stolen trailer at a residence on Line 36 in the Municipality of West Perth.

Colleen BAILLIE, 58, of West Perth, has been charged with:

–      Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

Police began an investigation on April 25, 2022, when a 2014 Weberlane EC1 black utility trailer trailer was stolen from a business parking lot on Perth Road 164, in the Municipality of North Perth.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

18 Year Old Facing Impaired Charge After 2 Vehicle Collision

(PERTH EAST, ON) – On April 28, 2022, just before 8:00 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were notified of a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles at Perth Line 33 and Perth Road 107 in the Township of Perth East. 

One driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. None of the three occupants in the other vehicle were injured.  

While speaking with one driver at the scene, signs of impairment were detected. The driver was placed under arrest and was transported to a local police detachment for further testing. 

Darcy ILLMAN, 18, of Stratford, has been charged with the following:

– Dangerous operation 

– Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

– Operation while impaired – blood concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

135 In An 80 – SINCLAIR

(PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Goderich driver after they were speeding more than 50 km/hr over the limit in Perth East.

On April 30, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a police officer on general patrol stopped a vehicle on Perth Line 44, in the Township of Perth East, after it was found to be travelling in excess of 135km/hr in an 80km/h limit zone.

Kayleigh SINCLAIR, 23, of Goderich, has been charged with:

–      Race motor vehicle – Excessive Speed

A 30-day driving suspension and 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

Impaired Driver Arrested In Mitchell

(WEST PERTH, ON) – On April 30, 2022, just after 6:00 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was dispatched to St. George Street, in Mitchell, for the report of a possible impaired driver called in by a concerned citizen.

The suspect vehicle was located by police, and during the course of the investigation, the investigating officer determined that the driver had consumed alcohol. The driver was arrested and brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing.

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Operation while impaired – blood concentration (80 plus)

18 Year Old Stunt Driver Rolls Vehicle – 3 Sent To Hospital

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Goderich resident with Performing a Stunt following a single motor vehicle collision investigated by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) last week. 

On Thursday, April 28, 2022, at approximately 6:46 p.m. members from the Huron OPP Detachment responded to a report of a single vehicle rollover crash located on Sanctuary Line.   Upon arrival officers located a sport utility vehicle in the ditch. Three occupants in the vehicle were transported to a local hospital and they were all later released. 

The subsequent investigation revealed the driver was operating the vehicle in an unsafe manner and was performing “fishtails”. 

As a result, the driver, Maddison BONIFACE-WOOD, 18 years of age has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform a Stunt – Cause Tires to Lose Traction. The defendant now has a court appearance scheduled for June 7, 2022, at Provincial Offences Court in Goderich. 

An immediate 30-day drivers licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment was also served on the driver.

Fatal Workplace Incident

(LUCAN BIDDULPH, ON) – On May 2, 2022 at 9:19 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with the Middlesex-London Paramedic Service and Lucan Biddulph Fire, were dispatched to a business on Breen Drive, Lucan Biddulph for a workplace incident.

As a result of the incident, an individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Ministry of Labour was contacted and is investigating the incident.

Meth Bust – Repeat Offender Arrested Again

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Seaforth resident with Possession of Methamphetamine and Failing to Comply with an Undertaking following a traffic stop in April.

On April 14, 2022, at approximately 7:57 a.m. a Huron OPP officer stopped a car on Sills Street in Seaforth and the passenger immediately took off running trying to flee. Officers recognized the passenger as being wanted so they gave chase and were able to catch up and make an arrest. 

A search incident to arrest revealed the accused was in possession of suspected methamphetamine. Additionally, it was learned the accused was failing to comply with conditions of an earlier release from custody. 

As such the accused, Gerald REID, 43 years of age from Huron East has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine & Failure to Comply with an Undertaking.

Overturned Tractor Trailer Closed Road Yesterday

CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has closed as section of Sharpes Creek Line (Huron County #31) following a single motor collision involving a tractor trailer. 

This afternoon at approximately 4:30 p.m. Huron OPP officers, Goderich Fire Department and Huron County Paramedic Services responded to the crash scene located on Sharpes Creek Line near Forresters Line. Upon arrival officers located a tractor trailer overturned on the west shoulder of the roadway with a load of granular fertilizer spilled into the ditch. 

The driver of the tractor trailer sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Sharpes Creek Line will be temporarily closed between Huron Road to the south and Londesboro Road to the north for vehicle removal and roadway clean-up.

The Ministry of Environment has been notified and they will be attending the scene.

Motorists should seek an alternate route to avoid delays.

23 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested

(BRANT TWP, ON) – On May 1, 2022 at 2:49 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle along Concession 2 in Brant Township. Officers located the vehicle and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol.

Jacob WEISHAR, 23-years-old, of Culross Township was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams.

The accused will be appearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton to answer to the charges.

An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.
