FRIEST Arrested – Stolen Property

(DUNDALK, ON) The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged an individual in relation to a stolen property investigation.

On January 24, 2023, The Grey Bruce OPP recovered several stolen items at a property on Grey Road 4 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

On April 9, 2023, just after 3:25 p.m., the Grey Bruce OPP arrested an individual in connection with the investigation.

Alexander FRIEST, 36 years-of-age from Melancthon Township is charged with possession property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.

HUFF Arrested Again

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A suspect has been charged after stealing from a local business in the Municipality of North Perth.

On March 12, 2023, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a business on Mitchell Road South, in Listowel, after a person was witnessed shoplifting.

As a result of the investigation, on April 7, 2023, Shaneika HUFF, 25, of North Perth, has been charged with:

–      Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting

–      Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on April 17, 2023.

20 Year Old Facing Assault Charge

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following an investigation.

On September 19, 2022, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated an investigation, after an individual was assaulted at a residence on Queen Street East in the Municipality of North Perth.

As a result of the investigation, on April 3, 2023, Perth County OPP charged Xavier RAITHBY, 20-year-old of North Perth with:

–      Assault Cause Bodily Harm – Choke, suffocate or strangle

–      Mischief Under $5,000

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

HUFF Arrested For Theft

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – One person was charged after stealing property from a local business.

On March 30, 2023, at approximately 1:07 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a reported theft at a business located on Davidson Avenue North in the Municipality of North Perth.

As a result, Shaneika HUFF, 25-year-old from North Perth was arrested and charged with:

–      Theft Under $5000

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on April 17, 2023.

22 Year Old Arrested Following Collision

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH TWP, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Wellesley resident with Impaired and Dangerous Driving offences following a collision on Friday March 31st

Huron County OPP were called to the scene of a single vehicle collision on March 31st, 2023, at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Glens Hill Road in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township. Upon arrival, emergency services discovered that the involved pickup truck had collided with fence posts, a mailbox, and hydro pole before coming to rest in a farm field.

Police spoke to the driver and determined that they had been consuming alcohol prior to driving. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and taken into custody. The driver ultimately refused to provide breath samples to police.

Dean KOCH, 22 years of age from Wellesley has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired,

–      Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand,

–      Dangerous Operation.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 24th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

20 Year Old From Morris-Turnberry Arrested

(NORTH HURON, ON) – An investigation conducted by the Huron County OPP involving an abandoned vehicle in a ditch in Wingham has resulted in stolen property being recovered and criminal charges laid.

On Sunday, March 05, 2023, at approximately 8:00 a.m. police were dispatched to Alice Street in Wingham, Township of North Huron for an abandoned pickup truck that was stuck in the ditch. 

Police located the vehicle which contained 10 stolen road signs from Huron County and a stolen drive-through sign from the McDonald’s restaurant in Wingham. During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that the owner of the pickup truck had been operating the vehicle on the date in question and was subsequently charged on April 2nd.

Bradley BROUGH, 20 years of age from Morris-Turnberry has been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 (two counts)

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 29th, 2023, in the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice.

Two More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged two impaired drivers on April 4, 2023, after they were involved in collisions.

  • On April 4, 2023, at 6:29 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received a report of a single vehicle collision along Concession 12 east in Carrick Twp. Officers arrived to find the vehicle was at rest in the ditch. The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Intoxilizer Technician for breath tests. Donald DAHMS, 75-years-old, of Carrick Township was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on May 24, 2023, to answer to the charges.
  • On April 4, 2023, 10:38 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received a report of a single vehicle collision at the intersection of Queen Street and Mount Forest Avenue in Kincardine. Officers arrived to find that the stop sign had been knocked down. The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Intoxiliyzer Technician for breath tests. Mark YALDEN, 50-years-old, from the Municipality of Kincardine was charged with Impaired Driving and Fail to Remain. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on June 28, 2023, to answer to the charges.

An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.

Meth Bust, Stolen Vehicle Recovered – 20 Year Old Arrested

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after a vehicle was reported stolen from a residence in the Municipality of North Perth.    

Police responded on March 28, 2023, at approximately 11:34 a.m., after the victim realized that their blue Ford F150 had been stolen from their driveway located on Elizabeth Street East North in North Perth. Vehicle was locked with keys inside.  

On the same date at approximately 1:00 p.m., the vehicle was recovered on Barber Avenue North in the Municipality of North Perth.

On April 1, 2023, a male was observed looking through cars and was subsequently arrested for multiple offences. Keys from the theft of the Ford F150 were located on the male.

As a result, Xavier RAITHBY, 20-year-old resident of North Perth was arrested and charged with:

–      Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence

–      Assault with a Weapon

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

–      Theft of Motor Vehicle

–      Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on May 8, 2023.

John BOSCH – Impaired Driving

(GREENOCK TWP, ON) – On April 2, 2023, at 4:54 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single vehicle collision along Highway 9 in Greenock Township. Officers arrived and found the vehicle at rest in the ditch. 

The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Intoxilizer Technician for breath tests.

John BOSCH, 60-years-old, from the Municipality of Kincardine was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on May 24, 2023, to answer to the charges.

JUDGES Arrested

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged an individual following a break and enter.

On April 1, 2023, at 6:38 P.M., the Grey Bruce OPP responded to a report of a break and enter on Elm Street in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.

During the course of the investigation, officer were able to identify an accused person and they were placed under arrest.

The Grey Bruce OPP have charged Adam JUDGES, 38 years-of-age from South Bruce Peninsula with the following offences:

  • Break, enter a dwelling house
  • Mischief
  • Theft under $5,000

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.

Assault In Listowel – RASSMAN Arrested

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On January 18, 2023, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an occurrence that took place at a Barber Avenue North address in Listowel. The victim suffered minor injuries.

On March 24, 2023, Serina RASSMAN, 44-year-old of North Perth, has been arrested and charged with:

–      Assault with A Weapon

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on April 17, 2023 to answer to the charge.

Repeat Offender Arrested Again – WEISS

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On March 23, 2023, at approximately 6:23 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a break and enter at a Road 166, North Perth address.

It was reported that an unknown person entered the landfill and took several items.

As a result of the investigation, Burton WEISS, a 53-year-old resident of Atwood has been arrested and charged with:

–      Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence

–      Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court

–      Possession Break In Instruments

–      Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Roger GAILBRAITH – Drunk Driving

(CHATSWORTH, ON) The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a driver with impaired related offences after they entered a RIDE program.

On March 27, 2023, at 8:09 P.M., the Grey Bruce OPP were conducting a Reduced Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program at Grey Road 3 and Grey Road 40 in the Township of Chatsworth, when a driver entered the program who was displaying signs of impairment.

Officers placed the driver under arrest, and they were transported to the Owen Sound Police Station for further testing.

The Grey Bruce have charged Roger GAILBRAITH, 52 years-of-age from West Grey with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired (80 plus)
  • Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.

Repeat Offender Arrested Again – WEDGE

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a transient person with 19 criminal offences after OPP were contacted on Friday, March 24th. 

On March 24, 2022, at approximately 10:05 a.m. Huron County OPP received a report of a break, enter and mischief to a motel located on Bayfield Road. Investigating officers learned that a male had been found sleeping in one of the motel rooms and had not paid for the room. Further inspection revealed that the suspect had forced his was into the room through a window, causing damage. The suspect had departed prior to police arrival; however, motel staff had obtained photographs and video of the suspect, then called OPP to attend.

The suspect was known to police and was observed in Goderich shortly after, at which time he was arrested. During the search of the accused, weapons, break and enter tools, and stolen property were found. The suspect was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton for processing.

As a result of the investigation, Huron County OPP has charged 32-year-old Aaron WEDGE of no fixed address with the following offences:

–      Break and Enter,

–      Possession of Firearm while Prohibited (five counts),

–      Possession of Ammunition while Prohibited (five counts),

–      Possession of Break and Enter Tools,

–      Possession of Stolen Property,

–      Fail to Comply with Probation Order x (six counts).

The accused was held for a bail hearing and later remanded into custody. The accused has a court appearance in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on April 4th, 2023.

$18,000 Wingham Drug Bust – WARD & WHEELER

(NORTH HURON, ON) – An investigation conducted by the Huron-Perth Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), West Grey Police Service, Huron OPP, and OPP West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) resulted in a traffic stop and the seizure of illegal drugs, cash, a prohibited weapon, and offence-related property with a total value exceeding $18,000.

On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at approximately 8:20 p.m. a vehicle was stopped on Josephine Street in Wingham, Township of North Huron. 

As a result of the traffic stop, police seized a prohibited knife, ammunition, and Canadian currency. Police also seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine.

The combined estimated value of the seized drugs is $13,480.00.

The combined estimated value of the seized property is $1,760.00.

Canadian currency seized is $2,790.00.

Christopher WARD, 38 years of age from Wingham has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of ammunition contrary to a Prohibition Order
  • Possession of a Weapon contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Unauthorized possession of weapon – (spring-loaded knife)

The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, then later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 24th, 2023, in the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice.

Dana WHEELER, 42 years of age from Durham has been charged with: 

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, and later remanded into custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 24th, 2023, in the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice.
