OPP Rescue Victim From Kidnapper – Fentanyl All Factor

(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) – On May 4, 2023, at approximately 5:00 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a person being held against their will at a residence on George Street, Arthur.

Officers attended the area and were able to locate the victim who was uninjured. 

As a result of the investigation, Brandon Douglas LONDON, 30-years-old of Arthur has been charged with Forcible Confinement and with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl. The accused has been held pending a bail hearing.

Threat To Harm School Children – One Arrested #LeaveOurChildrenAlone

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a threats occurrence in the Municipality of Central Huron, (Clinton) on May 3rd which led to an arrest on May 4th.

On Thursday May 4th, 2023, at approximately 9:27 a.m. Huron OPP officers received information from elementary school staff in the Municipality of Central Huron that a student had been threatened on the evening of May 3rd. The threat made by the suspect included attending the school and harming the victim in this incident and their friends. Huron OPP officers immediately met with school staff and officials to ensure the safety of the staff and students while the investigation was conducted.

As a result of the investigation, Daunte JOHNSON, 19 years of age from Central Huron was located, arrested, and charged with:

–      Criminal Harassment – Threatening Conduct

The Huron OPP is advising the public that at this time, there are no further concerns for the safety of the school staff or students.

The accused is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing on May 5th.

Violent Home Invasion In Clinton – Suspect At Large

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a Break and Enter, and Assault occurrence in Central Huron, (Clinton) on May 3rd which led to a K-9 search of the area.

On Wednesday May 3rd, 2023, at approximately 3:00 p.m. Huron OPP officers received a report of an assault on Dinsley Terrace in Clinton. Police responded and met with the victim who advised that an unknown male had entered their home and demanded the keys to their vehicle. The victim refused and was assaulted by the suspect. The suspect then fled with an axe and handheld torch. The suspect was last seen on foot Southbound towards a wooded area. Officers checked the immediate area and set up a perimeter to contain the suspect. OPP K-9 and Emergency Response Team (ERT) members attended and conducted a track for the suspect which yielded negative results.

The suspect is described as:

–      White male, approximately 5’9″ tall, dark hair, slim build

–      Wearing blue jeans, a black jacket with a “John Deere” logo, and a red baseball cap.

Sheri PEET Arrested For Refusing To Blow

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Central Huron resident with Refusal – Fail to Comply with Demand following a collision on April 26th at approximately 11:10 p.m. 

Huron County OPP, Central Huron Fire Department, Huron County Paramedic Services, and Union Gas Technicians were called to the scene of a collision on April 26th, 2023. Upon arrival, emergency services discovered that an SUV had collided with a gas meter close to a residence on Stone School Line in Central Huron, causing considerable damage to the gas meter.

Police spoke to the driver and determined that they were under the influence of alcohol while driving. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and taken into custody. The accused later refused to comply with the breath demand.

Sheri PEET, 45 years of age from Central Huron has been charged with:

–      Refusal – Fail to Comply with Demand  

The accused’ driver’s licence was seized for a period of 90 days.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 19th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Another Drunk Driver Arrested On Blyth Road

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Central Huron resident with Impaired Operation – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a failed roadside test on April 26th at approximately 9:50 p.m. on Blyth Road in Central Huron. 

Huron County OPP officers were patrolling on Blyth Road when they observed an automobile turn onto Blyth Road near the intersection of Roxboro Line. Police pulled the vehicle over and spoke with the driver which led to the investigating officer conducting a roadside screening device test on the driver. The roadside breath test resulted in a failure and the driver was placed under arrest and taken into custody. 

The accused was then transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for further breath tests. Two samples of breath were supplied to the Intoxilyzer Technician and both tests were found to be over the legal limit. 

Dan MULLIN, 39 years of age from Central Huron has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).

The accused was additionally charged with an offence under the Liquor Licence Control Act.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 5th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Craig GLAVIN Charged With Drunk Driving After Police Chase

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident with a total of eight offences including Impaired Charges following a series of traffic violations on April 7th in the Town of Exeter. 

Huron County OPP officers were patrolling near the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter at approximately 7:10 p.m. Police observed a motorist fail to stop for several stop signs at which time the officer attempted to stop the involved vehicle. The driver initially failed to stop for police, increasing their speed through the side streets.  The driver eventually pulled over, and in speaking to the driver, the investigating officer determined that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving and was subsequently arrested for Impaired Operation.

The individual was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton to provide breath tests before a qualified Intoxilyzer Technician. Suitable breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over three times the legal limit.

Craig GLAVIN, 45 years of age from South Huron has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80,

–      Flight from Peace Officer.

The accused was also charged with five additional offences found in the Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Licence Control Act.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 8th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Wellington OPP Weekly Report

(COUNTY OF WELLINGTON, ON) – Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to consolidate and streamline our notable traffic offences and publish a single weekly release.

On April 20, 2023, at approximately 12:30 a.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a blue Sport Utility Vehicle (S.U.V.) on Highway 9, Minto. As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old driver from Ayton was charged with Drive Vehicle or Boat with Cannabis Readily Available contrary to the Cannabis Control Act (C.C.A.).

On April 20, 2023, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a grey automobile on York Street, Eden Mills. As a result of the investigation, a 57-yea-old driver from Rockwood was charged with Disobey Stop Sign – Fail to Stop and Drive Motor Vehicle, No Currently Validated Permit contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (H.T.A.). Further the driver was charged with Fail to Surrender Insurance Card contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (C.A.I.A.).

On April 20, 2023, members of the Wellington County OPP initiated a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on St David Street South, Fergus. At approximately 11:00 p.m., the driver of a white pick-up truck entered the check. As a result of the investigation, Sean Joseph LITTLE, 31-years-old of Belwood, has been charged with Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph on June 16, 2023.

On April 21, 2023, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Brock Road South, Puslinch. At approximately 8:45 p.m., a yellow sedan was observed travelling above the poster 50km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old driver from Stoney Creek, Speeding – Community Safety Zone and Class G1 Licence Holder – Carry Front-Seat Passenger, contrary to the H.T.A.

On April 22, 2023, at approximately 2:15 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a silver S.U.V. on Sligo Road East, Mount Forest. As a result of the investigation, an 83-year-old driver from Mount Forest was charged with Driving while Under Suspension contrary to the H.T.A. The Defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph, on July 19, 2023.

On April 22, 2023, at approximately 5:30 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a black sedan on St Andrew Street East, Fergus. As a result of the investigation, a 54-year-old resident of Guelph, has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle, No Currently Validated Permit and Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence, contrary to the H.T.A. Further, the driver was also charged with Operate a Motor Vehicle without Insurance contrary to the C.A.I.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph on July 19, 2023.

On April 23, 2023, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a black S.U.V. on Wellington Road 109, Wellington North. As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old resident of St John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Not Equipped with Ignition Interlock Device, Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence, Fail to Surrender Permit for Motor Vehicle, contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph, on July 19, 2023.

On April 23, 2023, at approximately 4:00 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a silver pickup on Wellington Road 109, Wellington North. As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old resident of Guelph, has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle, No Currently Validated Permit and Fail to Surrender Permit for Motor Vehicle, contrary to the H.T.A. Further, the driver was also charged with Operate a Motor Vehicle without Insurance contrary to the C.A.I.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph on July 19, 2023

On April 23, 2023, at approximately 4:45 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a green sedan on Smith Street, Arthur. As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old driver from Arthur, was charged with Colour Coating Obscuring Interior and No Muffler – Motor Vehicle, contrary to the H.T.A.

On April 24, 2023, at approximately 9:00 a.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP initiated a commercial motor vehicle inspection of a van and trailer on Charles Allan Way, Fergus. As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old driver from Belle River face numerous H.T.A. charges including Overweight Vehicle – Violate Permit, Operate Vehicle – Fail to Display Inspection Sticker or Proof and No Muffler – Motor Vehicle. A total of eight violation were identified.

On April 24, 2023, at approximately 11:45 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a red sedan on Highway 6, Guelph/Eramosa. As a result of the investigation, Chance Dalton EBERHARDT, 26-year-old of Fergus, has been charged with Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (B.A.C.) (80 plus), contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on May 16, 2023.

On April 25, 2023, at approximately 9:30 a.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP initiated a commercial motor vehicle inspection of a dump-truck on Township Road 3, Guelph/Eramosa. As a result of the investigation, a 61-year-old driver from Caledon face numerous H.T.A. charges including Overweight on Axle, Over Wight on Tire and Insecure Load. A total of 16 violation were identified.

On April 25, 2023, at approximately 11:00 a.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a grey pick-up truck on Woodlawn Road West, Guelph. As a result of the investigation, a 55-year-old driver from Guelph was charged with Driving while Under Suspension and Insecure Load, contrary to the H.T.A. The Defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph, on July 19, 2023.

On April 25, 2023, at approximately 2:00 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a black sedan on Willow Road, Guelph. As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old driver from Orangeville was charged with Driving while Under Suspension and Drive Motor Vehicle – No Currently Validate Permit, contrary to the H.T.A. The Defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph, on July 19, 2023.

On April 25, 2023, a member of the Wellington Count OPP was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 7, Pilkington. At approximately 2:45 p.m., a blue pick-up truck was observed travelling well above the posted 80km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old driver from Elora, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed contrary to the H.T.A. and Driving Motor Vehicle With Open Container of Liquor contrary to the Liquor Licence Control Act (L.L.C.A.) The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph on July 19, 2023.

On April 26, 2023, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a black S.U.V. on 8th Line, Minto. As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old driver from Clifford was charged Driving While Under Suspension contrary to the H.T.A. and Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance contrary to the C.A.I.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph on July 19, 2023.

On April 26, 2023, at approximately 7:15 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a white sedan on Main Street, Palmerston. As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old driver from Listowel was charged Driving While Under Suspension contrary to the H.T.A. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph on July 19, 2023.

Anyone charged with Operation while Impaired- 80 Plus (mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood) or Failing to Comply with Demand receives a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment as per statute.

Anyone charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt receives a 14-day impoundment and a 30-day driver’s licence suspension as per statute.

$10,000 In Tools Stolen From Barn

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a break and enter to a barn on Perth Line 72 in the Municipality of North Perth.

On April 26, 2023, at approximately 6:46 a.m., Perth County OPP responded to a report of a break and enter. Sometime overnight on April 25, 2023, unknown person(s) entered a barn and removed several tools. Items stolen estimated at approximately $10,000.

Police are continuing to investigate and ask the public to report suspicious activity immediately, and remember to lock doors to vehicles, houses, garages, and sheds. Do not leave keys with vehicles, including ATVs. Consider installing security features, such as increased lighting, cameras, or alarms.

38 Year Old Caught Going 135 in an 80

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a London driver after they were speeding more than 53km/hr over the limit in Perth South.

On April 26, 2023, at approximately 4:20 a.m., a police officer stopped a vehicle on Highway 7/19 in the Township of Perth South after it was found to be travelling 135km/h in an 80km/h limit zone.

A 38-year-old resident from London has been charged with:

–      Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform stunt – Excessive speed

–      Class G1 licence holder- unaccompanied by qualified driver

A 30-day driving suspension and 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on June 13, 2023.

19 Year Old Repeat Offender Charged

(WEST PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Mitchell driver after they were speeding more than 60 km/h over the limit in the Municipality of West Perth.    

On April 24, 2023, at approximately 7:07 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on Line 36 in West Perth after it was found to be travelling 133 km/h in a 70 km/h limit zone.

As a result, a 19-year-old of Mitchell has been charged with:

–      Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive speed

–      Fail to comply with Probation Order

A 30-day-driving suspension and 14 vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on June 12, 2023, to answer to the charges.

2 Repeat Offenders Arrested After 60 Year Old Assaulted – Serious Injuries

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA, ON) – As a result of an investigation, two have been charged criminally, in an assault that sent a 60-year-old resident to hospital. Donovan Thomas FISCHER, 23-year-old of Kitchener, has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault and Fail to Comply with Probation Order. Colin Michael FISCHER, 35-years-old of Guelph-Eramosa, has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Fail to Comply with Probation Order. Both were held for bail.

On April 23, 2023, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an assault at a private residential community on Highway 7, west of Guelph. It was reported that two known individuals had assaulted a resident and that the injuries were severe. A 60-year-old resident was transported to a local hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

Alisha NETTERFIELD Arrested For Theft

(NORTH PERTH, ON) -Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a North Huron resident after being caught shoplifting.

On April 22, 2023, officers responded to a Mitchell Road South, North Perth address for a report of a suspect who stole items. All items were recovered.

As a result, Alisha NETTERFIELD, 34, from North Perth was charged with:

–      Theft Under $5000- SHOPLIFTING

The accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on May 29, 2023, to answer to the charge.

Collision Attempting To Pass Leads To Impaired Charge – Name Released

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On April 15, 2023, at approximately 8:09 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two-motor vehicle collision on Line 34 in the Township of Perth East. The accused struck another vehicle while trying to pass.  

Upon speaking with the driver, the officer had reason to believe the driver was impaired by a drug. The driver conducted a Standardized Field Sobriety Test, he was subsequently arrested and transported to a local operations centre for a Drug Recognition Evaluation.

As a result, Jilllian HUNT, 39, of Stratford, has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Careless Driving

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on May 15, 2023, to answer to the charges.

Repeat Offender Arrested For Drunk Driving Again

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with impaired related offences in the Township of Perth East.   

On April 15, 2023, at approximately 5:48 p.m., Perth County OPP officers received a complaint of a possible impaired. Officers located the vehicle on Perth Line 43 in Perth East.

During the investigation, officers determined the driver was impaired. The driver was arrested and transported to a local detachment for further testing.

As a result, Roman ALIBIO, 49, of Stratford, has been arrested and charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Drive motor vehicle- not equipped with ignition interlock device

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 45-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on May 15, 2023, to answer to the charges.

Collision On 86 – Impaired Driver Arrested

(PERTH EAST, ON) – On April 15, 2023, at approximately 3:15 p.m., an officer from the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two-motor vehicle collision on Line 86 in the Township of Perth East.  

Investigation revealed an involved driver had previously consumed alcohol, the driver was arrested and transported to the local detachment for further testing.

Jackson STEINBERG, 26-year-old of Waterloo, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

–      Dangerous operation

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on May 15, 2023, to answer to the charges.
