Lucknow Break In

(LUCKNOW, ON) – On February 13, 2020 at 2:10 a.m., members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an alarm at a business in the 500 block of Campbell Street, Lucknow. Officers arrived to find that the business had been forcibly entered and a cash box was taken.

OPP Officer Wins Paid Vacation

(WELLINGTON COUNTY, ON) – In February 2020, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began an investigation into the conduct of one of their officers.

On February 12, 2020, members of the Professional Standards Bureau of the OPP arrested and charged Provincial Constable Sukhvinder Singh TOOR, a fourteen (14) year member of the Wellington County OPP Detachment with the following Criminal Code offences:

Breach of Trust,

Attempt to Obstruct Justice,

Interception of a Private Communication, and with

Disclosure of Private Communication.

The officer is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on March 20, 2020.

The officer has been suspended from duty.

School Bus Driver Charged Following Collision

(CHATSWORTH, ON) – On February 10, 2020 at 7:53 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Concession 10 west of Walters Falls, Grey County involving a school bus and road grader. The road grader and school bus were both northbound on the roadway when the bus struck the grader from behind.

OPP officers attended and found 1 person with minor injuries. A 12 year old passenger on the school bus were transported by ambulance to hospital. There were a total of 11 students on the school bus.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged the driver of the school bus, a 52 year old from Thornbury, with Careless Driving.

Hero Homeowner Defends Property – Suspects At Large

(WEST PERTH, ON) – Shortly after 1:00 a.m. on February 11, 2020, OPP officers responded to break and enter in progress on Morenz Drive in Mitchell.

The homeowner observed two male suspects attempting to enter his locked garage. The homeowner yelled at the two males causing them to leave the address running. Police patrolled the area but the suspects were not located.

The males were wearing black hoodies and carrying black backpacks.

The OPP remind residents that the best deterrent for thefts is to lock their homes, garages, detached buildings and vehicles.

32 Year Old From Wingham Facing Impaired, Threats & Mischief Charges – HOLDEN

(HURON EAST, ON) – A 32-year-old driver from Wingham is facing several charges, including an Impaired Operation charge after police responded to a call for service in Brussels last night.

Shortly before 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a community service organization facility located on Turnberry Street in Brussels. Officers were informed a female had just arrived at the property and she immediately began causing a disturbance, damaging property and uttering a threat to a staff member.

Officers located the suspect outside of the building and she was promptly arrested for causing a disturbance. Upon further observations officers noted the accused had double parked her pickup truck and it was the belief of the investigating officer that her ability to drive was impaired by a drug.

A Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) was conducted and the driver failed. Further evaluations were completed at the Huron OPP Detachment by a Drug Recognition Evaluator (DRE) and these evaluations indicated the driver was indeed impaired by a drug.

Ashley HOLDEN, 32 years of age, from Wingham has been charged with Impaired Operation by a Drug, Uttering Threats, Mischief Under $5,000 and Causing a Disturbance. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for March 23, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. Her licence has also been suspended for an automatic 90 days and her vehicle has been impounded for seven days.

Pervert Alert: Man From Hanover Charged With Luring Child

(PERTH, ON) – Perth County OPP officers became involved in an investigation in October of 2019 after a young person received communication via social media for a sexual purpose.

On February 10, 2020, the investigation subsequently resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old male from Hanover. The accused is charged with:

Luring a Person Under 18 years of age by means of Telecommunications

The accused, whose identity is subject to a publication ban, is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Stratford on March 9th, 2020.

4 Year Old Deceased – Transport Truck Driver Charged – Name Released

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – On November 18, 2019, at approximately 8:20 p.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a three-vehicle collision at Glendon Drive and Melbourne Road in the Municipality Southwest Middlesex.

As a result of that collision, which involved a transport truck and two passenger vehicles, a 4-year-old child died of injuries sustained in the crash. Two others sustained serious injuries.

On February 11, 2020, the Middlesex County OPP arrested and charged the transport truck driver, 28-year-old Evan BEEDAWIA of Tecumseh, Ontario with:

Criminal negligence causing death

Criminal negligence causing bodily harm

Enter inaccurate or false information in a daily log

The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice London on February 11, 2020.

Vehicle Theft Caught On Video

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On February 11, 2020, at approximately 4:00 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting routine patrol when they discovered an abandoned pickup truck, idling on Wellington Street East in the Town of Mount Forest. Investigation revealed that at approximately 1:15 a.m. that morning, the truck had been stolen from a residence on Durham Street East. It was also discovered that that approximately $3,000 in assorted tools were stolen from the truck.

Dumb-ass Gives Criminal $70,000 Pickup Truck Jacking Up Insurance Rates For All

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers continue to investigate the theft of a $70,000 pickup truck that was stolen over the weekend from a residence east of Sheppardton.

Sometime between 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. someone entered onto the Nile Road property whereupon they entered into the unlocked pickup truck. Once inside the vehicle the opportunistic thief located the keys inside the vehicle and easily stole it.

The vehicle is described as a grey, 2019 GMC Sierra, 2500 diesel pickup truck.

The stolen truck is valued at approximately $70,000.

Authorities later located an abandoned Chevrolet Traverse about a kilometer away. Officers were able to determine the Traverse was stolen earlier from a residence located north of Bayfield. Investigators believe both incidents are connected.

Driving On Sidewalks Ends With Impaired Charge For 26 Year Old – Name Released

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On January 9, 2020 at 10:42 p.m. Grey Bruce and South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a traffic complaint in town of Chesley, Arran-Elderslie. The vehicle, a (black) car was observed driving carelessly, on sidewalks and almost caused a head on collision.

OPP officers attended and stopped the vehicle on 1st Avenue South behind an apartment building and arrested the driver for impaired driving. The driver provided two breath samples at the OPP detachment. The result of the test were greater than double the legal limit of 80 milligrams (mg) of alcohol.

OPP have charged 26 year old, Alexander NIGANOBE from Arran-Elderslie with Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, section 320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CC) and Operation while impaired with blood alcohol concentration 80 mg or greater, section 320.14(1)(b) CC.

The accused has been released on an Undertaking and will appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on February 26, 2020.

Fatal Collision Update

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – The Middlesex County OPP have been able to correctly identify the westbound driver as 77-year-old Rachelle PLOWRIGHT of Dorchester, Ontario.

The eastbound driver has been correctly identified as 39-year-old Michael ARCHER of Woodstock, Ontario.

The previous ages mentioned in the February 12, 2020 release were not correct.

Dirt-bag Scams Senior With Alzheimer’s Out Of $25,000 #StandYourGround #Enough

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On October 7, 2019, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a reported fraud at a residence on Sideroad 6 North, Centre Wellington. It was reported that an 80-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s was defrauded over $25,000.

Investigation revealed that a known suspect had on numerous occasions charged the woman for roofing repairs that were never completed.

As a result, Alexander WILLIAMSON, 25-years-old of Guelph/Eramosa Township, has been charged with Fraud over $5,000 and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice-Guelph on March 20, 2020.

Break And Enter Near Bluevale

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a break, enter and theft of car parts from a drive shed located east of Bluevale on Amberley Road.

Sometime over the last 2-3 weeks those responsible have attended the vacant farm property and have forced entry into the drive shed. Once inside the drive shed the suspects stole various car parts and stereo equipment from a vehicle that was parked inside.

The total value of the stolen items is estimated to be around $1,000.

Walkerton Drug Bust – ANDERSON Facing Numerous Charges

(WALKERTON, ON) – On February 8, 2020 at 11:59 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break and enter from a residence along Colborne Street north in Walkerton. Officers arrived to find that the home had entered between 12:00 p.m. on February 8, 2020 and 11:30 p.m. on February 8, 2020. On February 9, 2020, South Bruce OPP executed a search warrant at a property along Maple Street in Walkerton in the course of the investigation.

As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police seized offence related property, drug paraphernalia and a quantity of a controlled substance.

Curtis ANDERSON, 26-years-old, of Brockton was charged with 2 counts of Break and Enter, Theft, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. The accused was held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing scheduled for February 9, 2020.

Two Deceased Following Head-On Collision

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – The Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two vehicle collision on Hamilton Road east of Putman road around 6:00 p.m. on February 12, 2020.

An eastbound vehicle crossed into the westbound lane, striking a westbound vehicle head on.

Middlesex-London Paramedic Services, along with Thames Centre Fire attended the scene of the crash.

A 78-year-old female who was driving the westbound vehicle was pronounced deceased at scene and a 42-year-old male was transported to hospital in life threatening condition. The 42-year-old male later died in hospital.

The OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) are on scene. The roadway will remained closed to allow emergency responders safe access to the crash site.

The roadway is expected to be reopened later in the evening.

Next of kin notifications are currently underway.
