Hit And Run Drunk Driver Arrested – MILLS

(MIDDLESEX, ON) – On April 24, 2020 at 04:30 a.m. members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fail to remain collision on HWY 402 at Glendon Drive, located in the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc. The suspect vehicle fled the scene and was located a short time later by police where they soon learned that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired.

The driver was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the London OPP detachment for further tests

As a result of an investigation police have charged Gerald MILLS -age 65- of Georgina, ON with:

CC 320.16(1) Failure to stop after accident

CC 320.13(1) Dangerous operation

CC 320.14(1)(a) Operation while impaired

CC 320.14(1)(b) Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in a London court room on June 3, 2020 to speak to the charges.

Child Sexually Assaulted – Gordon BOMHO Charged

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On April 4, 2020, the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) engaged in a historical sexual assault investigation that occurred in Fergus over a seven year period.

The victim was a minor when the offences occurred.

Following a thorough investigation by the Wellington County OPP, Gordon BOMHO, 49-years-old of Fergus has been arrested and charged with Sexual Assault on a Person under 16 Years of Age, Sexual Interference, Invitation to Sexual Touching Under 16 years of Age and Forcible Confinement contrary to Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court – Guelph on July 28, 2020.

OPP Officer Facing Sexual Assault Charges – DOLDERMAN

(WELLINGTON COUNTY, ON) – In February 2020, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began a criminal investigation into the conduct of one of its officers.

On April 23, 2020, members of the Professional Standards Bureau of the OPP arrested and charged Sergeant Mike DOLDERMAN, a twenty-one (21) year member of the Wellington County OPP Detachment, with the following Criminal Code offences:

Sexual Assault (five counts),

Breach of Trust (five counts).

He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on July 28, 2020. The officer has been suspended from duty.

In addition Brenda DOLDERMAN, 53-years-old, was also charged with Obstruct Justice (three counts) and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on July 28, 2020.

Fake Cop Arrested – Gregory Calvin SMITH

(TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, ON) – On April 22, 2020 at approximately 4:40 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit arrested a 25-year-old individual following a complaint that someone was observed personating a police officer.

Investigation revealed that on April 17, 2020 1:00 p.m. the complainant along with his family were riding their bikes in the area of Watson Road South and Stone Road in the Township of Puslinch when a vehicle approached them and stopped.

The vehicle was described as a black older model Ford Explorer Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) with a push bumper on the front and it appeared to be an unmarked police vehicle. The vehicle had a yellow/orange flashing lights in the rear window and the complainant heard the driver yell something at them over a public address (PA) system.

The complainant believed that the person was a police officer in a police vehicle.

As a result of the investigation the Wellington County OPP Crime Unit has charged Gregory Calvin SMITH of Puslinch Township with Personating a Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on July 31, 2020 to answer to the charge.

Assault With Weapon In ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh resident with domestic assault offences following an investigation conducted by police earlier this week.

On Wednesday, April 22, 2020 Huron OPP members responded to a domestic dispute taking place at a residence in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh. Upon arrival officers were able to separate the couple and calm things down.

The subsequent police investigation resulted in police arresting and charging the accused, a 39-year-old Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh resident. The accused has been charged with Assault with a Weapon (2) counts, Mischief Under (2) counts and Assault.

Repeat Offenders Arrested Following Police Chase – GOWAN & PELKEY-LAUGHING

(HURON EAST, ON) – A Huron East man and a Bruce County resident are facing a pile of charges following a late night police chase that involved officers from both the Huron County and Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachments.

At approximately 12:05 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 Huron County OPP officers observed a sedan travelling eastbound on Hyrdo Line Road without a front licence plate. Additionally, the driver also failed to lower their high beams as it approached the police vehicle. As the police vehicle turned around the suspect driver immediately accelerated away. Officers then followed at a distance and waited until they had some back up units in the area.

A traffic stop was then attempted on Perth Line 34 however the driver failed to stop and took off towards Dublin. Shortly thereafter police utilized a spike belt on the suspect vehicle however to no avail the accused continued driving on bare rims toward Seaforth. The accused then sideswiped a police car in the chase and it wasn’t until just outside of Seaforth before police were able to get the suspect vehicle safely stopped.

Upon stopping the vehicle the driver resisted arrest, which resulted in police utilizing a conducted energy weapon to effect the arrest. A search incident to arrest resulted in police locating stolen property in the vehicle consisting of various pieces of identification and a licence plate.

The 22-year-old driver, Colton GOWAN, from Huron East has been charged with the following criminal offences:

Flight from Peace Officer

Dangerous Operation

Assault a Peace Officer with a Weapon

Resist a Peace Officer

Operation While Prohibited (4 counts)

Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

Fail to Comply with Probation Order (2 counts)

Possession of Counterfeit Money

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 (4 counts)

In addition, he is also facing four Highway Traffic Act offences.

He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 24, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

The passenger, 23-year-old Raven PELKEY-LAUGHING, from Arran-Elderslie has been charged with the following offences:

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 (4 counts)

Resist Peace Officer

Fail to Comply with Probation Order

She has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for June 22, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Stop Signs Damaged

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is hopeful the public may be able to help investigators determine who is responsible for damaging some stop signs in the Municipality of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh.

On Tuesday, April 21, 2020 police received a report of three stop signs that had been damaged by being shot at by a shot gun pellet ammunition. Police believe the signs were damaged sometime during the night of Friday, April 17th. The signs that were damaged were erected at the following locations:

Belgrave Road & Halls Hill Line

Belgrave Road & Lucknow Line

Lucknow Line & Zion Road

Wingham Methamphetamine Bust – Police Follow Footprints In Snow & Arrest Matthew CAMERON

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Some property check patrols by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers late last night (Tuesday) resulted in officers catching a male breaking into an unoccupied residence in Wingham.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. a Huron OPP officer spotted a person walking suspiciously in and around some Josephine Street buildings. The officer was able to track the suspect’s footprints in the snow which led the officer to an unoccupied residence on Josephine Street. Shortly thereafter back up officers arrived on scene and within a few minutes officers had the male in custody. Upon searching the accused police found him to be in possession of break-in tools and suspected methamphetamine.

Matthew CAMERON, 38 years of age from Morris-Turnberry has been charged with: Break, Enter with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence, Possession of Break-in Instruments and Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine. He has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for June 29, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Another Commercial Break In

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is actively investigating a break, enter and theft that occurred recently at an office building located in Seaforth.

The Jarvis Street property owner reported sometime over the last month suspect(s) forced entry into the building through the front door. Once inside they ransacked the office searching for valuables to steal.

Some of the items reported as stolen include various business documents, some company cheques, a Sentry brand safe and approximately $300 USD in quarters.

Dodge Grand Caravan Stolen From Clinton

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently investigating a theft of a minivan that took place in Clinton earlier this week.

Investigators have determined that sometime between 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on April 21, 2020 the thief entered into an unlocked residential garage located on Townsend Street. Once inside the garage they stole a Dodge Grand Caravan that was parked inside.

Also stolen from inside the vehicle included several pieces of identification such as birth certificates, passports, driver’s licences, vehicle documents and credit cards.

The stolen vehicle is described as a silver 2015 model Dodge Grand Caravan.

Huron OPP reminds vehicle owners to always lock up their vehicle and remove the ignition key and any valuables; this applies to whether the vehicle is parked in your garage or out in your laneway.

19 Year Old Caught Going 175 in an 80

(WEST PERTH, ON) – At approximately 11:00 p.m. on April 20, 2020, a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a vehicle travelling on Perth Line 20 near Road 150, in the Municipality of West Perth, after it was observed to be speeding. The vehicle was found to be travelling in excess of 175km/h in a posted 80km/h zone.

As a result, Sky Dawn Josephine DUPE, 19, of Stratford, has been charged with:

– Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed

A seven day driving suspension and seven day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

The penalties for Racing include six demerit points, a $2,000 – $10,000 fine, a possible extended driver’s licence suspension and up to 6 months in jail.

19 Year Old From Mitchell Caught Going 150 in an 80

(WEST PERTH, ON) – Shortly before midnight on April 18 2020, a member of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was patrolling Perth Road 180 in the Municipality of West Perth when they observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was found to be travelling in excess of 150km/h in a posted 80km/h zone.

As a result, Jenna SCHLUETER, 19, of Mitchell, is charged with:

Race a motor vehicle – excessive speed

Harriston Weapons Call Update – Name Released – WRIGHT

(HARRISTON, ON) – On April 19, 2020, at approximately 3:45 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a tenant barricaded in a residence with a weapon at an Elizabeth Street apartment complex in the Town of Harriston.

Police gained entry to the apartment and arrested an individual without incident. Further investigation revealed the presence of a suspicious package. The OPP Explosives Disposal Unit (EDU) and members of Canadian Forces Base Borden attended the scene to remove the package for analysis and disposal. The package was later shown to be inert. Police seized a BB gun, a quantity of firearms ammunition and illicit drugs from the residence.

Steven James WRIGHT, 57-years-old of Harriston is in custody and will appear in bail court via video link on April 23, 2020.

Driver Charged After Hitting Hydro Pole

(SAUGEEN FIRST NATION, ON) – On April 18, 2020 at 7:47 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on Bruce Road 13, south of Keewaydin Road on Territory of Saugeen First Nation. A (white) Sport Utility Vehicle left the roadway and struck a hydro pole.

OPP officers attended and the occupants of the vehicle had already left the collision scene. Police located the driver and a passenger, a short time later, in Southampton. No injuries were reported.

Grey Bruce OPP were assisted by Saugeen Shores Police Service during the investigation into the collision.

Grey Bruce OPP arrested and charged the driver, 24 year old, Jeffrey ELST from Waterloo with failure or refusal to comply with breath demand, section 320.15(1) Criminal Code of Canada (CC) and failure to stop after accident, section 320.16(1) CC.

The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and is required to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on June 10, 2020.
