Repeat Offender Caught With Methamphetamine – MCPHERSON

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On May 31, 2020 at 6:48 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a report of suspicious parties in a parking lot near an industrial park at Highway 6 in Georgian Bluffs, Ontario.

OPP officers attended and located several people behind the industrial park after hours.

As a result of this investigation, the Grey Bruce OPP have charged Ian MCPHERSON, 34 years old from Owen Sound, with the following offences:

Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)

Possession of a schedule 1 substance – Methamphetamine, section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act

Fail to comply with Probation Order, section 733.1(1) CC

The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on September 17, 2020.

Another person was charged with Cannabis related offences and several other parties were warned.

Levi SIPOS Charged For Damaging Golf Cart

(SOUTHGATE, ON) – On May 30, 2020 at 1:48 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a possible theft in progress of a golf cart at a golf course near Mount Forest, in Southgate, Ontario.

An individual had been playing golf, then they decided to drive a golf cart off of the golf course and onto the highway, appearing to be driving away with the cart. The owner of the golf course confronted them and observed significant damage to the front of the golf cart and requested that they return to the club house to deal with this issue. The individual abandoned the cart and left on foot.

Officers from the Grey Bruce OPP attended the golf course and apprehended the person after a brief foot pursuit.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged Levi SIPOS, 21 years old from Gravenhurst, Ontario with Mischief, destroys or damages property, section 430(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused has been released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on August 6, 2020.

Drunk Driver Downs Hydro Lines – LINDNER

(PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a person in relation to a collision last week.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m. on May 26 2020, Perth County OPP received a call for a single motor vehicle collision on Line 37 in the Township of Perth East. The investigation revealed that a van travelling westbound left the roadway, striking a hydro pole and downing the hydro lines.

Upon speaking with the driver, the investigating officer learned that the driver had consumed alcohol. An approved screening device was utilized and the driver produced a roadside sample of breath that resulted in a fail.

The driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Stratford Police Service detachment for breath tests, where his blood alcohol concentration was determined to be above the legal limit.

As a result, Jordan LINDNER, 31, of Stratford, has been charged with the following offences, contrary to the Criminal Code:

Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford, at a later date, to answer to the charges. The vehicle involved was towed from the scene and a seven day impound was initiated as per statute. The accused’s driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days.

Impaired Driver Nearly Collides With Police Cruiser – ELLIOTT

(CHATSWORTH TWP, ON) – On May 31, 2020 at 2:15 a.m., members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were patrolling the Grey-Bruce Line when the police cruiser was nearly hit by an oncoming vehicle. Officers avoided the collision, then conducted a traffic stop to find that the driver had been drinking alcohol.

Karl ELLIOTT, 65-years-old, of Lambton Shores was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on June 24, 2020 to answer to the charges.

Break And Enter Near Blyth – Do You Recognize These People Or Vehicle?

(MORRIS-TURNBERY, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to investigate a break, enter and theft that took place near Blyth this past weekend.

Investigators have since learned on Sunday, May 31, 2020 around 3:00 p.m. two persons attended and broke into a residence located on London Road north of Blyth. Those responsible forced entry into the unoccupied home through the front door and proceeded to load up their vehicle with various items.

Some of the stolen items include a cherry wood end table, a television, a sheepskin floor rug, a wicker floor rack and some clothing.

The suspect vehicle is described as a black Chevrolet Impala with tinted windows and chrome rims. (See Attached Photo).

Investigators are trying to identify the two persons of interest below.

Do You Recognize These Theft Suspects?

(CHATSWORTH, ON) – Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating multiple thefts that have been reported to police over the past week. The thefts have been occurring throughout Grey and Bruce County and Owen Sound, and include thefts of vehicles, vehicle accessories, licence plates and gasoline.

Two vehicles have been taken from residences in the South Bruce Peninsula and Northern Bruce Peninsula. On May 26, 2020, a (blue) pick-up truck was taken from a residence at Bruce Road 9 and has since been recovered. The second vehicle, a (gold) Sport Utility Vehicle, was taken from residence in Lions Head on May 28, 2020 and located a short time later in a ditch at Bruce Road 9. Both vehicles have been examined by OPP Forensic Identification Services.

Gasoline drive-offs have occurred in Owen Sound and Springmount.

Grey Bruce OPP are looking for the public’s assistance in identifying suspects. They are believed to be driving a (black) Ford F150, licence plate unknown.

Repeat Offender Arrested In Atwood – BENTLEY

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have located and arrested a wanted person in the Municipality of North Perth this week.

Shortly after 9:30 a.m. on May 25 2020, a Perth County officer patrolling North Perth observed a person walking on Arthur Street in Atwood. The person was known to the officer, and knew that there was a warrant for their arrest from another jurisdiction. During the investigation, it was determined that the accused was also breaching conditions.

As a result, Joseph BENTLEY, 26, of Kitchener, has been charged with:

Overnight Break Ins

(KINLOSS TWP, ON) – On May 28, 2020 at 6:20 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break-in to a residence along Paradise Lake Street in Kinloss Township. Officers attended and found that between 10:30 p.m. on May 27, 2020 and 5:30 a.m. on May 28, 2020, a total of 3 properties along Paradise Lake Street were entered.

The list of stolen property includes: a 9.9 horsepower Johnson outboard motor, a Yellow/White Pelican Escape 10 kayak, Eco electric chainsaw, Microsoft Surface tablet, Passport Western Digital external drive and a JBL Bluetooth speaker. The value of the stolen property is estimated to be more than $9,000.

Serious ATV Collision In Clinton

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to investigate an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) crash that took place last weekend in Clinton.

At approximately 4:23 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2020 Huron OPP officers and Huron County Paramedic Services responded to a call of an ATV rollover crash located at the intersection of Hill & George Streets in Clinton.

Upon arrival the driver was found lying on the roadway beside his overturned 4-wheeler.

The injured driver is a 49-year-old from Clinton. He remains in hospital with serious injuries.

43 Year Old From Clinton Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Clinton resident with Impaired Operation and Driving with a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) Over 80 after an arrest was made by police last night in Clinton.

Shortly after 6:00 p.m. on May 28, 2020 Huron OPP officers were called to a restaurant located on Huron Street in Clinton to check on a possible impaired driver that was observed in a parked vehicle.

Minutes later an officer arrived and located the driver waiting in her vehicle. Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer detected the odour of alcohol and also observed signs of impairment.

The driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and was transported to the

Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of her breath were provided to the intoxilizer technician and both samples were analyzed to be over the legal limit.

Angela MAIZE, 43 years of age, from Clinton has been charged with Operation While Impaired & Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 3, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. Her motor vehicle was impounded and her driver’s licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days.

Homicide In Thorndale – Names Released

(MIDDLESEX OPP) – On Tuesday May 26, 2020, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), as well as the Middlesex OPP Major Crime Unit, OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and in partnership with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Services entered into a death investigation at a home on Leesboro Trail in Thorndale, Ontario.

At the time, police located one deceased male within the home. A post mortem examination confirmed the male died as a result of a homicide. The homicide victim has been identified as Sean COLLINS, 27 years old, of Thorndale.

On Thursday May 28, 2020, members of the Rocky Mountain House Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) responded to a deceased male who was located in the North Saskatchewan River, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.

As a result of the police investigation it is believed that the male died as a result of drowning. The deceased male has been identified as Alexander COLLINS, 30 years of age, of Thorndale, Ontario.

Police believe there is no risk to the public at this time.

The Middlesex County OPP Major Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are working jointly with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Major Crime Unit in Alberta on this homicide investigation and police are encouraging anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

OPP Investigating Sudden Death

(MIDDLESEX OPP) On Tuesday May 26, 2020, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), as well as the Middlesex OPP Major Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and in partnership with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Services entered into a death investigation at a home on Leesboro Trail in Thorndale where one person was located deceased.

While the investigation is still in the preliminary stages, police believe there is no risk to the public at this time. Members of the community can expect to see an increased presence of OPP personnel and vehicles in the area as the investigation continues.

Hwy 21 Head On Collision – One Sent To Hospital, One Charged

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On May 28, 2020 at 6:28 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called for a head-on motor vehicle collision, involving a (grey) pick-up truck and a (white) car on Highway 21, west of Bruce County Road 14,South Bruce Peninsula.

The (white) car was westbound and the (grey) pick-up truck was eastbound. The car crossed the centre line, travelled onto the eastbound gravel shoulder and collided with the pick-up.

One driver was transported by ambulance to hospital with minor injuries.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged the driver of the car, a 29 year old from South Bruce Peninsula, with Careless Driving, section 130(1) Highway Traffic Act.
