23 Year Old Caught Going 130 in an 80

(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On November 15, 2020 at approximately 7:45 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Hanlon Parkway at Laird Road in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a white passenger vehicle travelling northbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 130 km/h.

As a result, Ziauddin SHAWALIYAN, 23-year-old resident of Sherbrooke Quebec, has been charged with Stunt Driving-Excessive Speed and Speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court on May 5, 2021. Their vehicle and driver’s licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

Do You Recognize This Grinch Trying To Steal Christmas?

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On November 17, 2020 the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft report that occurred at a business on St. David Street North in Fergus on November 14, 2020 at 9:17 p.m.

Surveillance footage captured the suspect unplugging the Christmas tree that was on display behind the electronic drive-thru order sign before fleeing on foot.

The suspect is described as:

Caucasian male

Grey/white balding hair

Average build

Wearing dark pants, grey/blue plaid jacket, brown boots and glasses

OPP is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

Methamphetamine Bust In Harriston After Foot Chase – Paul REEVES

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – On November 10, 2020 at approximately 2:00 p.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting patrols in the area of Arthur Street West in Harriston. The officer spotted a person believed to be wanted by another police service. As the officer attempted to speak to the individual, the suspect attempted to flee on foot.

After a brief foot chase, the suspect was arrested by police. A search of the suspect resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of substances believed to be methamphetamine and Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD).

Paul REEVES, 49-years-old of Mount Forest, has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on December 18, 2020.

ROGERS – 50 Over Speed Limit

(BLUEWATER, ON) – A charge of Racing has been laid against an Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh resident following a traffic stop that took place over the weekend north of Exeter.

On Saturday, November 14, 2020 at approximately 4:09 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a pickup truck speeding southbound on Airport Line at a high rate of speed. The patrol officer utilized a RADAR device and measured the speed of the vehicle at a speed in excess of 50 km/h over the posted 80 km/h speed limit.

Briana ROGERS, 23 years of age from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed. A court date is scheduled for January 5, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

PINNEGAR – Stunt Driving

(BLUEWATER, ON) – A Brant County resident is facing a court date in the new year following a stunt driving charge laid by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) last week.

On Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at approximately 5:33 p.m. a Huron OPP officer spotted a car travelling westbound on Zurich-Hensall Road at a speed well over the posted 90 km/h speed limit. A RADAR device was utilized and the speed of the racing vehicle was measured at a speed in excess of 50 km/h over the limit.

A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was charged. Tanner PINNEGAR, 27 years of age from Brant County was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform a Stunt. He will have to attend Provincial Offences Act Court in Goderich on January 5, 2021 to answer to the charge.

Another Drunk Driver Charged – MEANEY

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A Kitchener resident is facing Impaired Operation charges following his arrest last weekend in Huron County.

On Sunday, November 15, 2020 at approximately 12:25 a.m. a southbound pickup truck entered into a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint that was set up on Bluewater Highway just north of Grand Bend. Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer had reason to believe the driver was under the influence of alcohol and was displaying signs of impairment.

The driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment in Clinton for breath tests. Two samples of breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests registered above the legal limit.

Michael MEANEY, 65 years of age from Kitchener has been charged with Operation While Impaired & Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for January 4, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Heroes Rise Up And Defend Community From Repeat Offender – Christopher KURTH Arrested #StandYourGround

(HURON EAST, ON) – A Central Huron resident remains in custody on several charges connected to an incident that took place in Vanastra last week.

Shortly after 7:00 p.m. on November 10, 2020 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a St. Charles Place address to assist a victim that had just made a citizen’s arrest of a thief that was attempting to steal his licence plates. Upon arrival officers learned the accused and an accomplice pulled up beside the victim’s vehicle and began removing the licence plates off of the pickup truck.

The victim noticed what was going on so he ran out and entered into the accused’s vehicle and attempted to restrain the accused. A female passenger got away however with the assistance of some neighbours the victim was able to apprehend the accused until police arrived. During the incident the accused assaulted the victim causing a minor injury to the victim.

Further investigation revealed the accused was driving a stolen pickup truck that had been taken from a business in Goderich earlier that morning.

Christopher KURTH, 35 years of age from Central Huron has been charged with Assault, Theft Under $5,000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 and Fail to Comply with Probation Order. He remains in custody with a court date scheduled for November 18, 2020.

Impaired Driver Crashes Into Field – TODD

(PERTH EAST, ON) – A Tiverton driver has been charged after driving while impaired and crashing into a field.

On November 15 2020, just before 02:00 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a vehicle that had driven straight though the stop sign at Line 43 at Perth Road 119, in the Township of Perth East, and crashed in a field.

The investigation revealed that the driver, who was westbound on Line 43, failed to stop at the stop sign at Perth Road 119, which is a T intersection. The truck then drove into a farm field where it came to rest. The driver was not injured in the collision.

During the course of the investigation, the responding officer determined that the driver had consumed alcohol. The driver was arrested and brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing, where two samples of breath provided were more than double the legal limit.

As a result, Tyler TODD, 23, of Tiverton, has been charged with:

Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Pedestrian Struck Near Listowel – MILANOVICH Charged

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – One person has been charged after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Highway 23.

On November 12 2020, just before 6:00 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County Paramedic Service and the North Perth Fire Department responded to a collision on Perth Road 164 (Highway 23) near Line 60. An adult pedestrian had crossed the road and was struck by a vehicle travelling northbound. They were transported to a local hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result, the driver of the car, Katie MILANOVICH, 29, of Elmira, has been charged with:

28 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge Following Collision

(WEST PERTH, ON) – A Mitchell driver is facing an impaired driving charge after a collision last week.

On November 12 2020, just after 06:00 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), West Perth Fire Department, and Perth County Paramedic Services responded to a collision on Line 42, in the Municipality of West Perth. The preliminary investigation has revealed that the driver of a car travelling westbound on Line 42 entered the eastbound lane, striking the rear of a tractor that was travelling in that lane.

The driver of the car was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

During the course of the investigation, officers formed the opinion that the driver of the car had consumed alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and further testing was conducted, where two samples of breath provided were more than double the legal limit.

As a result, Andrew RUSSELL, 28, of Mitchell, has been charged with:

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Drunk Driver Arrested In Seaforth – CRONIN

(HURON EAST, ON) – A Stratford resident is facing Impaired Operation charges in Huron County following a traffic stop conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Seaforth this past weekend.

At approximately 9:33 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2020 a Huron County OPP officer noticed a compact vehicle travelling on Main Street with a burnt out headlight and licence plate light.

Upon stopping the vehicle and speaking with the driver the investigating officer also noted the driver had some open alcohol inside his vehicle. A roadside screening test was conducted and the driver registered a fail.

The driver was placed under arrest and was subsequently transported to the Huron OPP Detachment in Clinton for breath tests. Two samples of breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests registered above the legal limit.

Dylan CRONIN, 27 years of age from Stratford has been charge with Operation While Impaired and Operation While Over 80. He has since been released from court with a court date scheduled for December 21, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. His licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days and his vehicle was also impounded.

$50,000 Reward Offered

(KETTLE AND STONY POINT FIRST NATION) – The Government of the Province of Ontario is offering a total reward of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for the information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of 29-year-old David Jordan OLIVER of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation.

On Sunday, August 2nd, 2020, at approximately 1:30 pm, members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment, OPP West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Canine were assisting Anishinabek Police Service in the search for David OLIVER. His body, along with his red Dodge Ram pickup truck, were located by police near 9356 Army Camp Road in Lambton Shores.

The OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and the Anishinabek Police Service have conducted an extensive investigation, and have followed up on a number of tips from the public. To date, the person or persons responsible for the murder have not been arrested. The investigation is ongoing and further updates will be provided as they become available.

Police are appealing to anyone with information in the murder of David Jordan OLIVER to contact investigators on a dedicated, toll-free tip line at 1-833-525-8477 in an effort to bring this case to a resolution. Evan GEDDIS – Drunk Driving

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) – On November 14, 2020 at approximately 1:30 a.m. a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 southbound near Wellington Road 30 when he conducted a traffic stop of a red sedan.

Police spoke with the driver, formed the opinion that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing.

Evan GEDDIS, 24-years-old of the Guelph has been charged with Impaired Operation – 80 Plus (mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood) contrary to the Criminal Code.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on December 8, 2020 to answer to the charge.

POOLE Caught Going 157 in an 80

(PERTH EAST, ON) – Another driver from outside of Perth County has been charged for racing a motor vehicle.

On November 12 2020, just before 7:30 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a vehicle on Perth Line 55, in the Township of Perth East, after it was found to be travelling in excess of 157km/h in an 80km/h limit zone.

As a result, Clinton Jack POOLE, 27, of Woodstock, has been charged with:
