(BANCROFT, ON) – Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one person with impaired operation.
On Saturday, July 5, 2025, just after 7:00 p.m., Bancroft OPP Marine Unit officers were conducting patrols on Mephisto Lake when a boat was stopped to conduct a safety inspection. An approved screening device was used, and as a result the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.
Zoe LANGLOIS, a 23-year-old resident of Osgoode Ontario, has been charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and they are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on August 5, 2025.
The OPP wants to remind those boating on the lakes this summer that impaired operation is a criminal offense and includes when operating a vessel on the water. If charged with this offense your Ontario driver’s licence will be suspended for 90 days as it would for someone being charged in a motor vehicle.
