William PETERS Was Arrested

(CHIPPEWAS OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) -Suspicious vehicle leads to impaired charge.

On August 29, 2025, at 7:46 a.m., members of the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Police and Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a business located at 310 Melbourne Road in Chippewas of the Thames First Nation for the report of a suspicious vehicle.

The vehicle was located parked in the parking lot at which time the driver was placed under arrest.

As a result, William PETERS, a 42-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

·      Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on October 1, 2025.

The Chippewas of the Thames Police Service and Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.
