Patrick ARMITAGE Facing Numerous Charges

(FRONT OF YONGE TWP, ON) – A boater on Graham Lake, southeast of Athens, has been charged with impaired operation.

On Saturday, July 5, 2025, shortly before 2:30 p.m., officers with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Snow Vehicle, All terrain Vehicle, Vessel Enforcement / Education (SAVE) team were conducting marine patrols when they stopped a small boat for a safety check.

It was noted that there were two people onboard but only one life jacket. Officers then spotted open alcohol in the boat and a further check located additional alcohol.

An approved alcohol screening device was utilized, and the boat was escorted back to shore. The boat operator was transported to the Kingston Police office for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Patrick ARMITAGE, age 42 of Mallorytown, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operating a boat with an open container of liquor
  • Operating a pleasure craft without a life jacket for each person onboard
  • Failure to have proof of competency onboard a pleasure craft
  • Possession of unmarked cigarettes

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on August 8, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence was immediately suspended for 90 days.
