Neil DEJOODE Was Arrested

(MOONBEAM, ON) – A motorized snow vehicle (MSV) collision in Moonbeam has resulted in life-altering injuries for the driver and impaired driving charges.

On January 23, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Cochrane District Ambulance responded to a serious single MSV collision on the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) “A” Trail in Moonbeam.

The operator was transported to the hospital by ambulance and is being treated for life-altering injuries. As a result of the investigation, Neil DEJOODE, 46-year-old, from Haley Station has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing on February 24, 2025.

Additionally, officers determined that another MSV operator at the scene had consumed alcohol. The individual was issued a demand to provide a breath sample into an approved screening device (ASD) and failed to do so. As a result, Nicolas BOND, 37 years old from Phelpston, was arrested and charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing on February 24, 2025.

The OPP’s Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team is assisting with this ongoing investigation.
