(BANCROFT, ON) – Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged the driver of an ATV with impaired in Highlands East.
On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, just after 7:00 a.m., Bancroft OPP officers were responding to a disturbance in the Municipality of Highlands East. While officers were investigating the disturbance a person driving an all-terrain vehicle showed up at the location. An approved screening device was utilized, and as a result, the accused was transported to the detachment for testing.
Maxwell YOUNG, a 53-year-old resident of Highlands East, has been charged with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded for seven days. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on June 3, 2025.
