(SUDBURY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a driver with impaired driving offences after a traffic stop at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) initiative.
On Monday June 30, 2025, at approximately 10:35 p.m., members from the Nipissing West Detachment (Sudbury) and Sudbury Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E) of the OPP were conducting a R.I.D.E. initiative at the intersection of Region Road 90 (also known as Garson Coniston Road) and Highway 17, Sudbury.
One driver was arrested for impaired driving by drugs. As a result of the investigation, Ian DOUCETTE, 34 years-of-age, from Markham, was charged with, operation while impaired – drugs and drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday July 23, 2025, in Sudbury.
The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
