Highway 69 Encounter Ends With a Blow — Sudbury OPP Drunk Driver

(BURWASH TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a driver after police received a traffic complaint.

On Friday September 26, 2025, at approximately 9:40 p.m., members from the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 69, Burwash Township.

The vehicle was passing unsafely in a construction zone. Police located the vehicle, arrested the driver for impaired driving, and then transported the driver to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Debbie BRENNAN, 51 years-of-age, from Henvey Inlet First Nation, was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday October 22, 2025, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
