Hate Crime: Repeat Offender Emil Brozic Arrested AGAIN! #3Strikes

LONDON, ON (August 18, 2025) – A London man was arrested over the weekend in relation to a hate-motivated assault that took place in the downtown core.

On Sunday, August 17, 2025, at approximately 3:15 p.m., a man was standing in the area of Queens Avenue and Clarance Street when an unknown male suspect approached him and entered into a conversation.

A suspect uttered racially motivated comments at the victim and proceeded to assault him. The suspect took property from the victim and threw it into the road before assaulting him a second time.

The victim’s property was damaged as a result.

The suspect left the area and police were contacted.

Prior to police arrival, the suspect returned to the area and uttered additional comments at the victim before walking away.

The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.

A description of the suspect was provided to police. The incident was captured on video surveillance and police were able to positively identify the suspect. He was located and arrested at approximately 4:15 p.m.

The incident was deemed to be hate-motivated and was reassigned to members of the London Police Service Hate Crime Unit.

As a result of the investigation, Emil Brozic, 44, of London, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Assault;
  • Assault by suffocation;
  • Mischief under $5000; and
  • Breach of probation. 

“The London Police Service acknowledges that hate-motivated incidents can generate concern and unrest within the community,” said Detective Sergeant Adam Steele, head of the Patrol Operations Investigative Section. “We are committed to thorough investigations and ensuring the safety of all Londoners.”

The accused remains in custody is expected to appear in London court today in relation to the charges.
