(DRUMMOND-NORTH ELMSLEY, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Perth resident with impaired driving.
A Lanark OPP officer spotted a fast-moving vehicle on Craig Street in Perth on Saturday, August 10, 2024, around 10:00 p.m. The officer watched as the vehicle turned onto Highway-43 and was being driven in an erratic manner.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and the driver was arrested for suspicion of impaired driving. The individual was transported to the Lanark Detachment for testing.
As a result of the investigation, Gordon BURKE, age 49, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Speeding
- Fail to have an insurance card
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on September 9, 2024.
The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension) and vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
