(COCHRANE, ON) – A drug-related search warrant executed in Cochrane has resulted in the arrest of one individual and the seizure of approximately $5,000 worth of drugs, and approximately $570 in cash.
On February 20, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m., the James Bay Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with assistance from the Northeast Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed a search warrant at a residence on Seventh Avenue South.
During the investigation, officers arrested one individual and seized suspected fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, and crystal methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $5,000. Police also seized a digital scale, and approximately $570 in Canadian currency.
Melissa BOUCHARD, 40 years-of-age of Cochrane, was charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine – two counts
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking -methamphetamine
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Fail to comply with release order – two counts
The accused remains in custody and is next scheduled to appear for before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cochrane on March 4, 2025.
