(BROOKE-ALVINSTON, ON) – Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system assists officer in stopping and charging a driver from Highgate.
On February 25, 2025, just before 12:00 p.m., a member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol on Inwood Road, was alerted by the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system, of a possible suspended driver.
A traffic stop was initiated on Inwood Road, south of Shiloh Line.
As a result, David MALCOLM, a 49-year-old of Highgate, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with the following offences:
- Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
- Obstruct Peace Officer
- Driving while under suspension
- Fail to identify self
The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for 45-days.
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 1, 2025, in the City of Sarnia.
