(MAPLETON TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges a Burlington resident with numerous offences following a traffic stop.
On April 27, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP Traffic Management Unit was performing a traffic enforcement initiative when they stopped a motor vehicle on Highway 6 near Wellington Road 17 in Mapleton Township.
As a result of the investigation, Cody James O’RIELLY, a 32-year-old resident of Burlington is charged with:
- Impaired operation-over 80
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Stunt driving-excessive speed
- Speeding-50 plus km/h over posted speed limit
- Possess unmarked cigarettes
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice- Guelph on May 9, 2025.
