( NEW TECUMSETH )- Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested two individuals following a weapons investigation that began earlier this month.
On August 17, 2025, shortly after 11:00 a.m., officers responded to a report from a resident in New Tecumseth regarding an injured pet. The complainant advised that their cat had been shot with what was believed to be a BB gun. Tragically, the animal later succumbed to its injuries.
As part of the investigation, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on 4th Line in New Tecumseth on August 27, 2025, shortly after 7:00 p.m. During the search, police located and seized several improperly stored firearms, including:
- A bolt-action Sure Shot Repeater (.22 calibre)
- A Stevens Model Gold Wing 512 (20 gauge)
- A Remington Game Master Model 760 (.308 calibre)
- Two rifle-style airsoft pellet guns
- One pistol-style airsoft gun
- Ammunition for all listed firearms
As a result of the investigation:
Marisa MARINI, 71 years old, of New Tecumseth, was arrested and charged with:
- Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition – Three Counts
Danilo REBULI, 73 years old, of New Tecumseth, was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Cruelty to Animals – Unnecessary Pain, Suffering or Injury
Both accused parties have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on October 9, 2025.
