The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of multiple arrests made at a Demonstration.
On Saturday, September 13, 2025, at approximately 11 a.m., police attended a demonstration at Christie Pits Park.
It is alleged that:
- a large group of individuals participated in a demonstration in the area
- police provided direction to participants in an effort to have the group move along to ease traffic congestion
- participants caused a disturbance
- participants assaulted other participants and caused damage to property
- participants became combative and assaulted a police officer
The following individuals were arrested and charged:
Samuel Alexander Butler, 33, of Toronto, was charged with:
- Assault
He is scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 11 a.m., in room 203.
Christian Ash, 18, of Toronto, was charged with:
- Assault
He is scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 11 a.m., in room 203.
Benoit Cote, 58, of Orillia, was charged with:
- Assault
- Mischief Under $5000
- Fail To Comply with Probation
He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 10 a.m., in room 105.
Shawn Wood, 42, of Toronto, was charged with:
- Causing a Disturbance
He is scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 11 a.m., in room 203.
Igor Mesh, 46, of Toronto, was charged with:
- Causing a Disturbance
He is scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 10 a.m., in room 203.
Daniel Decter, 27, of Toronto, was charged with:
- Mischief Over $5000
He is scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 11 a.m., in room 203.
Shemar Russell, 28, of Toronto, was charged with:
- Assault Peace Officer
He is scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 11 a.m., in room 203.
Aiden McLellan, 27, of Toronto, was charged with:
- Assault
He is scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 11 a.m., in room 203.
Daniel McIllroy, 33, of Toronto, was charged with:
- Assault
- Weapons Dangerous
He is scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 11 a.m., in room 203.
