(CHATHAM KENT, ON) – West Region – Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team, supported by Elgin and Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with impaired operation on Highway 401.
On Monday, August 11, 2025, at approximately 4:51 p.m., police responded to multiple traffic complaints regarding a transport truck on Highway 401 in the Municipality of Chatham Kent.
As a result of the investigation, Anitabh KHATANA a 42-year-old from Windsor was charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous operation, and
- Drive motor vehicle, not in accordance with permit limitations (Highway Traffic Act)
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused was released on an Undertaking and scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Chatham on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
