Andrew ROCHON Arrested Following Collision

(MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP, ON) – A driver was arrested and charged for impaired driving following a single vehicle collision this morning on County Road 43, in Montague Township.

On June 10, 2025, just after 7:30 a.m., officers with the Lanark County and Grenville County OPP Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle roll-over collision on County Road 43, near Kilmarnock Road. Callers reported a pick-up truck travelling at a high rate of speed, passing another vehicle before going off the roadway into a ditch.

Officers arrived on scene and had to break the front windshield to get the driver out. The officers’ observations led to an impaired driving investigation and the driver submitted a roadside breath sample, and the driver was subsequently arrested. The Lanark County Paramedic Service attended, and the driver was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. Further testing was completed by police at the hospital, where breath results registered more than three times the legal limit.

Andrew ROCHON, 40 years of age, of Merrickville-Wolford Township, was charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous operation

The accused was also charged under provincial legislation for improper tires and having care or control of a motor vehicle with an unsealed container of liquor.

The accused was later released from police custody with a future court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth.

The OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
